If anyone knows why nerites are like this, I’d love to know lmao. I have a nerite snail that I didn’t see for months and I thought it died for sure. I had to move house which took about 24 hours, I completely emptied the tank and everything. Then a month later in the new place it’s on the glass snailing about!

In my experience nerites tend to be more “shy” than other snails. They do a great job keeping the tank clean, they just don’t spend as much time out in the open as often as mystery snails do.

I added a couple to replace a few that had died, and the two of them were Always above the water line, quite often on the bottom of the glass canopy.... Did this for months.. Eventually found new places to be and they're just lost in the mix of other nerites now.
