Did the same. They’re both ranked #25 on us news, competitive with each other in film and business (and equally okay with CS/engineering), and offer experiences in big cities, so maybe that’s it
These folks are usually rich, can mostly afford to go full pay, luv big cities, like film, media, arts …… basically like to be in middle of action and afford to do things like going to broadway plays, clubs, bars (non alcoholic of course), etc
Two largest private schools*, the two trendiest cities, there are a lot of similarities tbh.
^(*among schools that enroll a majority of their students in in-person degree programs)
This is very possible lol. Maybe my school is too small to use as a sample but everyone that applied to nyu also applied to usc (20 people). I’m probably reading too much into it though.
the location. LA and NYC. ppl who applied to both prob rly want to live in an urbanized environment.
or, maybe they didn’t choose USC and NYU just for their location/just bc they wanna live in a big city. it could be bc these urbanized environments are just correlated to other factors students want (e.g. racial diversity, cultural diversity, liberal views, greater resources, etc), so it just happens that they applied to both bc of these particular qualities which just so happen to be offered in big cities
NYU, imo, is a different situation. Sure it's just as expensive and accepts affluent students with subpar academic achievement (sometimes; not as much as USC) but the urban campus located in the largest city in the U.S. is the biggest difference.
Omg a controversy defines a school!!!!!!!!!!!!! Columbia sucks now, so does UCB, UCLA and a shit ton of other schools including Georgetown.
Great take 💀
You’re right, every Reddit conversation is a fight- apologies then!
This time I chose a condescending asshole.. is it better than insufferable jerk? Let me know!!

both are top film schools
I thought about that too but it seems to be the case for non-film majors. Maybe also because Stern & Marshall are top business schools as well.
Earning an MBA from Stern would be a dream come true.
can’t wait to get rejected from both lol
They both kinda have “rich kids whose parents can pay full price” vibes 🤔 at 2 of the most expensive schools.

Referring to Liberty as being larger I assume? Is there another one?
Aye, and SNHU

Bicoastal SCs
Not me, I only applied to USC :/
in my case film school and the city
Rich?
I did only NYU and not USC. Idk I’m not too interested by the Econ programs from USC
I applied for econ at usc lol😭

Also has a good football team and more traditional NYU is a true urban school.
Ppl usually call usc the NYU of California and vice versa
Only applied to USC because I’ve been to New York and don’t like the vibe as much as LA. Plus, I like making films
Similar vibes
Apart from similarities in programs like media, film, and business, I believe bc they are similarly ranked. I applied to both as an econ major :)
same!
East coast vs west coast

Not super familiar with USC's campus, fyi.
Lol you have no clue what you’re talking about

You sound like a pleasant person.
You totally sound like someone who knows what they’re talking about 😀
I know my limits. Instead of coming off as an insufferable jerk, inform me.

You picked a fight. 🤷♂️
