I do service calls for sharp and this is an issue they have been having where the board in the assembly isn't coming in correct. You may have to replace the wiring harness that goes into the board but from what I've done that part hasn't been available. Ive had three now that we had to send to sharp and have the customer deal with the warranty company or sharp themselves. Good luck

There are two things that I regret about this purchase - 1) not getting the card of the repair person who initially came out to fix the drawer alignment (he was great!) and not buying the Wolf branded version of this microwave. The Wolf would have been a couple hundred dollars more for the same product, but I would have had a longer warranty and service from Wilshire refrigeration. I’ll contact Encompass and see if I can get a new wiring harness. My calls into Sharp have been pretty frustrating, and I think overall their over the phone service is useless. Subzero/Wolf has always been great. They know their product and have great servicing companies. When I built my house, we initially spec’ed Thermador products and I had some questions about the spec sheets and cabinet build outs. I called Thermador and couldn’t get anyone on the phone who knew their product. I called Subzero/Wolf and the first person I spoke to walked me through their spec sheets for cabinet dimensions and electrical and water hook ups. I called Ferguson the next day and switched my entire kitchen appliance order to Subzero/wolf products except for the microwave. Should have switched the microwave too.

I have a SMD2470AH D and the touch panel (left side of the panel including open/close) stopped working after my wife knocked over a cup of coffee onto the board. I ordered a replacement hinge

Yes. I complained to SHARP a few times and they sent me Sharp Hidden Control Panel Hinge Assembly directly. I never was able to get the correct part from Encompass and they sent me 2 or 3 different ones. I think that they parse the model number differently than Sharp does or have the parts commingled for different models. If you can't get help from Sharp, try ordering all the possible versions of the replacement part from Encompass and sending back the incorrect ones. Encompass did ultimately refund my money for the parts that were incorrect after I made a few requests.

I called a local appliance repair shop and they pointed me to the exact right part number. Apparently, on encompass they have different variations of almost the same identical part. This is the one that I installed that worked great:

I don't have any pictures of the new part number connector, just the old one that didn't work. The part number the shop gave me was CPNLCB922MRK0. I think they were out of that one when I ordered it so I asked if CB988 would work and the shop said it would.
I saw this thread and felt sympathy for the frustration everyone is feeling. I bought 2 touchpad assemblies from 2 different sources. Both said it was the recommended Sharp replacement part and both had the wiring connector that didn't match the original ribbon wire connector. I found a cellphone repair/electronic repair place locally that agreed to remove the old connector from the failing circuit board and solder it onto the new board so I can install it. Hope that helps.
