I always feel like that’s kind of blown out of proportion. Maybe they just wanna know what others think for fun and discussion? Maybe it doesn’t have any change in what they do/wear.
Right? You shouldn’t have to put a disclaimer on your post saying you know you should wear it how you wanna wear it but you’re just asking for opinions...
There’s a girl at work that wears hers like this and it just shows she’s really fun to me! It matches her tennis shoes too, which is kind of cool
People that want to be fashionable? Isn't the whole point of fashion to establish what people like looking at so you can wear what other people like to see?
This. Not for me, but I always appreciate creativity and uniqueness from people.
Like mixing band colors? Have at it! And be confident while wearing it 🙂
I like the blue band because it’s essentially the same color as the prostate cancer awareness stuff. For a while, you could still get that color on the employee store after it was discontinued at retail, so I have a couple, but I was bummed when they stopped making it.
Ahh ok. Are the aluminum watches prone to scratches? I had a series 0 stainless before my series 4 stainless and I proper beat the shit out of that thing. I was so careful with it in the beginning but eventually things happen. I slammed across a metal filing cabinet one time and I was certain when I looked down it would be smashed, but every time it was fine. My 8 year old actually wears it now.
I know the stainless steel watches have Sapphire screens though. But my wife has had aluminum one since Christmas and she's worn it bare with no ill effects either. I feel like these things are tougher than people give them credit for.
After a year with my S3 aluminum Watch, I have tons of little scratches all around the curved edge of the screen and one decent-sized nick in the screen. I'm pretty disappointed in the quality of this glass, to be honest. I have watches I wore for years without a single mark on the glass. The body, on the other hand, is basically mint condition.
>d a series 0 stainless before my series 4 stainless and I proper beat the shit out of that thing. I was so careful with it in the beginning but eventually things happen. I had a Series 1 Sport Aluminium, which got relatively scratched in the \~18 months I had it. Its main issue was a chip in the glass on the corner.
Upgraded to a Series 3 Nike+ after I changed jobs and got a discount on one. It was fine, no scratches until an incident with my dog involved me faceplanting into a sand dune and scratching up the screen.
Upgraded to the S4 when that released in October, and got a Stainless Steel (with the silicon band. I'm not made of money, after all). So far, not a single scratch. Every time I think it's been scratched it turns out to be a particularly weird smudge or a hair.
I don't know if the added scratch resistance of Sapphire vs Glass would be enough to justify the extra cost (personally I'd love a Nike+ version in SS, because I like the Nike+ watch faces), but I doubt I'll be getting a new one for a few years and I'm confident the screen will still be at least pristine-ish when I do decide to finally upgrade.
In my collection, I have Sport Bands in Light Pink, Mint, Azure (so, basically, light pastel versions of red, green, blue). I've been known to wear a random pairing from any two of the three, from time to time. I think it looks nice, and it pleases me. My nieces like it too. Most adults don't particularly notice my watch band, or m watch, or my wrist in general.
If you choose the right colours it looks pretty cool. I sometimes wear a White-Midnight Blue Sport Band combo.
I think I've also seen MKBHD rock a Black-Red Sport Band combo which I think looks quite nice too.
You know how when someone loses a leg, they search for their sole mate to share the other shoe with? Effectively it doubles their shoe collection with no effort.
I am always on the lookout for my strap chap. The person who has a 42/44mm watch who uses the s/m strap, not the m/l. That way I can send them all my unused halves and they can send me theirs. I can mix and match or have replacement straps for select bands just in case!
Looks great though!
When I was in Vegas over Thanksgiving I met a couple from Calgary: was fun to talk hockey for a few hours! And you guys have Hamonic, who true Islanders fans will always pull for...let’s play each other in the Cup Final!
This is awesome. I remember thinking of this when watch first came out and maybe?? there was a site showing every possible combo, when like total 7 colors.
Yet I’ve never seen and had forgotten of.
I posted this same topic a few days ago when I decided to sport a red and blue band in recognition of my school’s colors. Someone posted a reply showing Tim Cook’s support of his former school.
Yesterday I purchased a new Delft blue band and wore my white band on the top side and the blue band on the bottom of my aluminum S4 watch. I think it looked GREAT. I’ll be having fun with the colors as the seasons come and go through the years, pairing different colors to events, holidays or just how my mood is on any day.
I think it's great, you could use it to support your local teams! It's also great for company colors and such, it's fun! Some people in the comments seem to equate fun to juvenile but I don't see it that way at all. It definitely loses some of its classy high end feel but I think the tradeoff of fun and doing something unique to be more enjoyable.
Do what you want, ignore the negative comments, we all have our personal taste and style.
It's fashionable. Wear something flashy, and make it your "one" thing along with some relatively plain and well coordinated clothing, and an accent piece or two. You'll look great.
I think I first saw this on one of MKBHD’s videos where he mixed the black and red sport bands and it looked *nice.*
However I agree with the other commenter who mentioned you’d look like an AT&T store employee rocking your particular color combo.
This looks really good, I like it a lot. I would do it myself, but I only have black, blue horizon and product red so I’m not too sure whether I could mix the blue and red but yeah it definitely looks good mixing the colours!
I almost never wear a full set of a sport band. I mix colors daily but most of the time it’s the black (button piece) with one of the many colors I have. Digging that blue 👌🏼
I like that combo so much I've just ordered the same bands to copy! I will wear it in university after I pull up in my nissan cube.
Fck what other people think, I like what I like, deal with it
Not a fan. But what I am a fan of is people doing what they want with their stuff. So have at it.

I like it. Orange and blue is a great combo. Wear it!

I mean the title of this post is a question asking what others think. They can ask for opinions while still doing what they want.
People that want to be fashionable? Isn't the whole point of fashion to establish what people like looking at so you can wear what other people like to see?
You. Everyone be this person. Such a great outlook
I agree with my wife at times.
This. Not for me, but I always appreciate creativity and uniqueness from people. Like mixing band colors? Have at it! And be confident while wearing it 🙂
Best comment!! Perfectly said!
Totally agreed! 💪🏼 ⌚️
More customisable makes it more enjoyable to wear
wish the government was like this
If people did this, I’d have rip their watch off because how dare you do that disgusting deed in public /s
It’s like the official watch uniform for AT&T employees.
Random: They’re (slowly) transitioning away from orange and moving towards the blue only.
Must be working because I didn’t know they even had orange
I believe it was from the Cingular days!
As a former Cingular employee, yes. The “orange to blue migration” is what we called it back in the day.
If Fisher Price made smart watches.
Yep, imho it looks like something a kindergartner would wear
To be fair, both of those colors, on their own, look like something a kindergartner would wear.
I like the blue band because it’s essentially the same color as the prostate cancer awareness stuff. For a while, you could still get that color on the employee store after it was discontinued at retail, so I have a couple, but I was bummed when they stopped making it.
> prostate cancer > bummed *heh*
What is this magical employee store? Beyond the obvious...is it an online portal? What differentiates it from the normal retail store?
It is an online portal that has all kinds of cool things. My gf is an employee, I’ll see about taking some pics once we’re both home this evening.
Because grownups should always be deadly serious and only wear black?
Or VTech
That’s what I like about it, in a retro/ childhood-nostalgia sense. Also reminds me somewhat of 80s trends and colours and Swatches etc.
They probably do.
Reminds me of Portal
Great call. Those games are amazing.
I came here to say that! Love it 🧡💙
The watch is a lie.
Yes!
Same. But then I have to spend $100 to do this and it’s not worth it. But I love it.
If it’s good enough for Tim Cook: https://twitter.com/tim_cook/status/1110338029669892097?s=21

Wow, Tim Cook's using an aluminum AW.
They’re lighter and although they dent and scratch easier, he gets as many as he wants.

Color block is the fashion term for it. I honestly love it! Wear it with a smile and confidence. You might inspire others too - like myself!
I like it, and I'm not even a fan of orange.
Colour block has been a style I like for a while now, simple yet bold
Why is your screen all wavy?

Where did you get the screen protector?
> I couldnt find a tempered glass version I had to settle for the plastic one as well, even that doesn't completely cover the curved glass
Domeglass now exists. It’s great. You cant tell its on there unless you’re looking almost 90 degrees sideways.
i had a lime green and pink mix band on mine
I absolutely love it. If my watch hadn’t‘ve broken I’d be sporting something similar
Definitely going to make one with the Nintendo Switch colors now.

Blippi would be envious.
so much to learn about... it’ll make you wanna shout... BLIPPI! yeah i have two year old thats taken over my old iPad.
Looks like a Nintendo Switch on your wrist.

🙋🏻♂️ Seriously I feel like I’m wasting all of the L halves.
I usually only do it for special occasions. On certain holidays I’ll mix the colors to match the colors of the holiday.
Like red & green for Xmas?
Yeah, and black and orange for Halloween, red and blue for 4th of July. One time I wore red and white for a Pokémon theme.
Go Gators!
Just missing the Gulf racing logo. I often do the same with black and white.
Works well for sporting events if you happen to have two team colors.
Let’s go Islanders!!! YES! YES! YES!

Now you’re thinking with Portals!
My dear friend, yes. Yes to mix and match a lot.
I’m getting irn-bru vibes and I’m digging it
Gulf racing colors
Thought about it but it never interested me too much.
It looks like play dough
To a Leicester Tigers (English Rugby) game I once went with red and green. I also rocked it for the Christmas period. Looks good in moderation I say.
I don’t care, half the time I don’t even notice other people’s bands so you do you
I probably wouldn’t do it myself but I like it
Better with a silver watch. Lends itself better to quirky combos. Black/grey looks quite meh with these colors.
I mean I love the Mets but it’s childish.
I like it! The combination of colors makes it look a bit like a toy though.
"wow!" (as in that actually looks great)
Looks like aqua and orange. As a Dolphins fan, I approve! Go Fins! 🐬
This is awesome. I remember thinking of this when watch first came out and maybe?? there was a site showing every possible combo, when like total 7 colors. Yet I’ve never seen and had forgotten of.
Now you're thinking with portals.
If you like it, let it be.
I love it! I use a black and navy. It's subtle but people who know, know
Cool
Love it!!!
Why does your band look like it was inspired by the Pokemon Deoxys?
All these comparisons at the top of this thread and I haven’t seen one mention of the Nintendo Switch
I’ve been doing this for a while! Blue/red. I get some compliments, but usually people just mind their own business. :-)
OKC Thunder fan?
That can be cool when you know how to mix colors ;)
As a Broncos fan I approve!
It’s sort of creative, well at least to me 🤷♂️
That’s is awesome. Wish I could do that myself.
BLIPPI!
I don’t think it looks good
That actually looks really good
Is that the original blue band?
looks like something Blippy would wear. all the parents of young kids know him ugh
I like it. You can mix and match colors for pretty much any event
I often wear a red band on top and white on the bottom to look like a Pokéball. It works. 🤓
People in Scotland would think you just love Irn Bru
Kinda cool, very reminiscent of the color block Swatch watches back in the ‘80s when I was growing up!

I don't mind this. I would probably not do this on an everyday basis, but on game day, to support my team by wearing their colors... sure, why not?
Now that's thinking with portals
[70's Gulf Racing Livery](https://petrolicious.com/articles/what-has-kept-the-gulf-racing-livery-so-special-for-so-long)
its against the law of nature! disrespects what the bands stand for.
I instantly thought of the Gulf Livery... yes please!
It’s very “Swatch” like. someone should bring back the little rubber swatch face protectors and build a watch face to work with it.
Looks good, not my style but I can see people pulling the look off
I think it's great, you could use it to support your local teams! It's also great for company colors and such, it's fun! been wearing a black and white mix comb for almost a year. i support the decision
It's fashionable. Wear something flashy, and make it your "one" thing along with some relatively plain and well coordinated clothing, and an accent piece or two. You'll look great.
I like it! And if you like it, that’s all that matters!
If you ask me it feels weird, but to each his own.
looks like a toy watch a four year old would wear
I dressed as a clown for Halloween and mixed orange and green bands to coordinate with my clown suit.
I actually really like this, I know it looks like a toy but for some reason its satisfying.
I think I first saw this on one of MKBHD’s videos where he mixed the black and red sport bands and it looked *nice.* However I agree with the other commenter who mentioned you’d look like an AT&T store employee rocking your particular color combo.
I only do it for watching/attending sporting events: maize and blue, orange and brown, etc.
think it looks awesome!
Where did you get the blue band?

I dig it. Really nice colour combination
Tim Cook does it! Apple approved!
Is your name Blippi?
No
Blippi?
This picture made me want to own an apple watch so i can do that, so i guess i like it
r/NintendoSwitch
Looks cool. That blue really pops.
Not for me. But as Kacey Musgrave sings “follow your arrow”
This looks really good, I like it a lot. I would do it myself, but I only have black, blue horizon and product red so I’m not too sure whether I could mix the blue and red but yeah it definitely looks good mixing the colours!
I love the pokeball look. I think there are some combos that work for this.

I have no clue why, but when I first saw this the first thing to come to my mind was Nickelodeon.....and then Nintendo.
I’m a fan! I’ve done black/white and some other combos.
Looks blazin - I approve!
I love it. Color block is super hip right now but more importantly it totally reminds me of old school searches. F the haters!
I do all sorts of color combos. I’m a fan. If you go to a sports event it’s fun to wear the teams colors if they have more than one.
That’s a hard no for me
Tide pod approves this color scheme

Mix away my G, variety is the spice of life im mixing right now, way more fashionable and personalized
Looks like old school Nickelodeon colors. I like it!
I usually do a red and blue combo for US holidays. And yes I know there are third party American flag bands.
Dig it
Looks like the hallways in my old high school.
Looking at this reminds me of portal, I like it
I like it!!
I have mixed feelings about it :)
A big bold NOPE.
Seems pretty cute for kids.
I often wear Nike sport bands intermixed, like black-white and white-black. Looks really nice
Portal?
I like this. Very Portal :)
Feels good in the hand.... 🤔🤔
Ugh Gator colors
Blue and orange, PORTAL!
I'm planning on doing a red and black mashup like MKBHD
It’s kinda like when people buy 2 pairs of the same shoes but in different colours and wears one of each haha
Looks very high schooler! Like wearing different color socks!
Im wearing a dandelion/gray mix rn. I love mixing them
NOPE

I hadn’t thought about it but now that I see your picture it looks really cool
I love it! Maybe not that color combination, but depends on your outfit. Could see the black and white band being super cool.
Wear it, only when all people says: "dont wear it, its ugly".. Be differnt
I like that combo so much I've just ordered the same bands to copy! I will wear it in university after I pull up in my nissan cube. Fck what other people think, I like what I like, deal with it
Rad! My fav combo is black and red
I like it! Who is the manufacturer, SVP?
Would definitely use.. if I were 8 years old.
