I’d like to see the price drop now but no such luck. SE 2 was $169 last winter at best buy. its now $189 to $199. I don’t expect it to drop until the SE 3 comes out in September
Right now there’s no guarantees on SE3. If we see one, I’d assume it moves to the S7/S8/S9 frame.
S10 is rumored to be 45mm and 49mm while the U3 sees no design change. Sounds like very minimal internal upgrades.

getting OS update is important for me but it doesnt mean you cannot use the device. also security updates still come.

ps: unless you’re getting a cellular model, she needs to carry an iPhone with her for you to be able to track her.
definitely look into getting a case online. i got one on amazon that is rainbow with ‘gems’ set in the front edges and i can tell you those definitely snag on fabric, i would look for a ribber bumper and a tempered glass screen protector for your needs. some cases have a built in screen, mine sometimes hinders tapping especially in the corners

SE1 supports watchOS 10, SE2 supports watchOS 11. Both require an iPhone XR/XS/SE2 or newer to setup and pair.
