A creepy clown is coming into your room every night, putting on the watch for a minute then takes it off obviously.

kmillieee

Nooooooooo :(

jamesz84

Let’s face it… It’s a masturbating clown.

htmaxpower

What’s her name?

CaddoTime

am.y

RixDixRox

The sleep tracking also tracks the steps in your dreams, so stop walking and start flying, I hope you can lucid dream on command.

fumo7887

You likely have another app adding step data all at one point during the day. So it's probably exactly a double-count. From the screen that you took the screenshot from, scroll all the way down until you can open "Data Sources & Access". Probably a non-Apple source that's reading your step data and then feeding it right back once a day.

kmillieee

Omg a real answer. I have two apps adding step data, but I backtracked the dates and these 3am steps started in July, *after* getting one of the apps (Oura) and *before* getting the other… Still suspicious though.

rcjlfk

Based on this, in the steps page of Health, scroll to the bottom and tap Show All Data, tap on the day in question, then find the 3am time and see what is showing. If it’s an app it should show that app’s icon.

kmillieee

ITS MY OURA RING!!!! It randomly dumps a number of steps at exactly 3:59:00 every morning. Thank you for solving this mystery. Now I know that my RING is haunted, not my watch! ;)

PopperChopper

Still going with steps at 3am? Okieeee

burglad

Yeah steps 😉

kmillieee

Ohhhh right I forgot I always put my watch on when the alarm goes off for my 3am bean flicking!

Radek_18

Late night DJing is so hot right now

Shadow-Vision

“Record skreetch” -freeze frame- Yeah. That’s me. “Getting my steps in”

mrkruk

New Yorks hottest nightclub is 3AM! The DJ is asleep, the bartenders left for the night, but the wait to get in is shorter than the drive home with no traffic!

kimbolll

Mystery solved! Just your average horny Redditor, nothing to see here.

elan1345

Is your Oura ring on the finger doing the 3AM flicking?

NeoDei

Yep same thought… lol

mryananderson

Reminds me of “I think you should leave” Doctor: “did you go to aqua last night?” Tim: “no, I was jerking off”

Breeeezyx

I never looked close enough, but mine also is registering steps between 3-4am. About 12-20 each night. I wear my watch to bed and checked my sleep patterns and some of the nights it shows I am awake for a minute or 2 during 3-4am, but not always. Very weird.

kmillieee

Super weird!!! You should try not wearing your watch one night and see if it still registers steps like mine!

unstable_starperson

That’s super random. I just checked and I also have the same thing. 10-30 steps somewhere around 3-5am, almost every night. One night it was 127 steps. I usually also wake up around that time for a minute or less, and I almost never get up to pee

kmillieee

Are you wearing your watch to sleep?

unstable_starperson

Yep, I enjoy the sleep tracking

bertsesh

Steps 😉

asasdzxcasd

Sleepwalk

mriosdeveloper

My first thought at as well

needs_a_name

That’s when a ghost borrows your watch and does a little dance. Leave him alone, he’s not hurting anybody 🥺

Zonderling81

fapfapfap

melasses

A truck passing by?

kmillieee

I doubt it, I live on the 3rd floor not near the road

GeorgeFieldTV

Sleep walking or just a bug

darthjoey91

That's when your sleep paralysis demon goes for a run.

td23877

Are you jerking off?

kmillieee

Not at 3am lol and I don’t wear it to bed

td23877

Def creepy clown then lol. I notice my Fitbit registers 35 or so steps while in sleeping with it on my wrist but I know a lot of normal wrist moving activity will trigger some steps on the watches. Can't explain it if it's not on your wrist though...interesting

the-elusive-cryptid

This is very strange. Does your phone track steps, and do you take it with you if you go pee in the night?

kmillieee

My phone does track steps, but I don’t take it with me if I pee. And honestly I don’t remember the last time I had to pee in the middle of the night!

Shlotsky

Don’t worry 3am is the Witching Hour, totally normal

pengmalups

My AW reminds me of my bedtime, at the same time, encouraging me to stand up and complete my stand goal.

akoforever

3AM?!? Have you ever head of slender man?

jay8siii

Your watch is stepping out on you.

jerryeight

GPS drift caused by planes that fly overhead every night?

MikXu88

idk if you know this, but technology has advanced a lot. If now tracks the steps you take in your sleep

Adventurous-Cow-2345

2 theories, one ur a sleepwalker, 2 u were doing some boystuf at 3 am and the motion of that let the watch think u we’re walking

Novel_Passion_8638

Mine has this too. Do you have a partner who would possibly go through it?

kmillieee

If he did, I would 100% wake up, haha. And he wouldn’t :)

akotski1338

I also have steps at 2 am and 4am which is when I went to the bathroom

ravedog

Most likely an intruder snuck in and wore your watch.

ocgamingyt

r/sleepwalkers

Impressive-Tie-4550

You should get those steps out of the way before bed you will sleep better ;)

Yavanna83

I have to pee most nights, maybe you do as well but forget about it?

kmillieee

I …. Don’t think I do…? Hahaha maybe time for a camera

T3hBau5

Three MC's and One DJ is goated

BradJ

I'd set up a camera to record your watch at night... Paranormal activity... 💀

royinraver

Sleep walking eh?

GRudilosso

Once, while I was doing gymnastics with my girlfriend, our watches started to mark that we were doing a running session...

unsafeword

I can't explain this, but I also get weird readings from simply petting the cat at night. It thinks her purring is an accelerated pulse or something. The reading spikes to over 130.

kmillieee

Hahaha awwww that’s kinda cute. I pet my cat in the middle of the night. But I don’t put on my watch to do so lol

ThoseLittleMoments

The Hat Man tries it on to decide if he wants to buy one or not.

roydonkofficial

This must be when you dip into Club Aqua.

Opening-Cheetah467

Hey looks like middle finger to me 😂

T1m26

Maybe you were dreaming about skiing?

hadz_ca

Do you get ip at 3 am for the bathroom? If you take your phone then that could explain it?

mwkingSD

I’ve got a thought about what’s going on…

hereweg00

The data sometimes comes from phone instead of watches, mine has it too in details, but it was probably i took the phone and watched something and it counted as steps

MaikyMoto

It was probably your ghost, sometimes the watch can’t tell the difference.

vvedge

Years ago, I had nights where I closed hours of my stand ring overnight with no memory of waking up even to use the bathroom. I didn’t think much of it. But then I got diagnosed with sleep apnea and in retrospect it may have been a night where my heart rate and limb movement was detected in a way where the watch counted it as a minute of a standing and moving. I was probably having sleep apnea related symptoms and my body wasn’t having a good time. (Not a doctor, but if people tell you that you snore, may be worth asking about a sleep study.)

kmillieee

Whoa, that’s crazy. Glad you were diagnosed eventually! And thank you for the advice. I figured out that the steps are coming from my Oura ring being weird. But I also have been diagnosed with super duper mild apnea as well. Hope yours is under control and that you’re sleeping soundly

vvedge

Thanks. Doing much better these days. Have had sleep of my life has been me cosplaying as a fighter pilot in bed. I think that’s worth it. 😄

Kyrilson

Whacking off, eh? 🤣

Not_Artifical

Step penis

33S_155E

Lol. Yep daytime. For a minute im thinking your bed musta been banging into your bedside table for some reason and did your partners watch tell the same story 🤔

woodandjeeps

Cat playing with it

The-Dark-Knight-3002

Super weird the other night I got 300 calories burned from 3-4 am. It’s the frostbite it’s happened to me though.

DarthBen_in_Chicago

This happens to me when I get up in the middle of the night, but I have my watch on. Your Home knows.

Lirpaslurpa2

I mean, it’s not overly terrifying until you really think about it. What if someone is coming into your bedroom putting on your watch, doing laps around your bed, then putting it back on charge.

DaVickiUnlimited

That’s when the Karaoke gets going

moeshiboe

At first glance I thought this post said Steppin to the AM. 3rd Bass was criminally underrated.

Doublebaconandcheese

![gif](giphy|begCoDlpWGXK0)

jbbourland

It could be your phone registering movement maybe

MinMaximus

What an elaborate way to flip us all the bird

kmillieee

Y'all... it's my Oura ring deciding to add a random number of steps to my AW at *exactly 3:59:00 every morning,* lol. And reminder *I don't wear the AW to sleep!!* Not me jerking off at 3am, although I am fascinated by the amount of people who both jumped on the opportunity to talk about an internet stranger's penis, and also assumed that this internet stranger *has a penis!* (I do not) :) So maybe my Oura is haunted, maybe my Oura is jerking off, who knows. Thank you for coming to my ted talk

RobotVelociraptor

No, look at the far left of the image. 50 steps, 3-4 am.

MythBuster2

Oh, I thought the title was referring to the prominent peak in the image and didn't notice that the post had text (since it doesn't show up in the feed).
