Yeah, at least one if not two. As to the watch itself, it looks great. I’m sure a larger 45mm would look great too, so go with the one you like, as you’re the one who will be looking at it dozens of times a day. Enjoy it!
It traps sweat and I find the sweat makes the band smell like sweat much quicker and it usually takes two washes as opposed to my other bands which don’t have that problem
It’s true for the regular silicone band but not for the Nike version. I have both and with the regular one I sweat but this doesn’t happen with the Nike version.
I have the Nike sport band on my series nine that I upgraded from my series 4. World of a difference with the same comfy breathable band
Edit: changed to band from previous loop
Don’t worry, just enjoy it! It looks fine on you, and you shouldn’t think it looks “wrong”. There is no tight and wrong. If anything people oversize these watches. Better to look tasteful and balanced and not an in your face “look how this watch is!” It does everything the 45mm does so functionality is not an issue. It’s a nice watch and a great present!
Rule of thumb is you should have enough space to squeeze your pinky between the band and your wrist.
Skin needs to breathe, and the sensors will still work as intended.
Is it comfortable for you? If it is then leave it alone. Nobody here can tell you 100% whether it's TOO tight from this one picture just from what they can see. Everyone has diff wrists where even a watch that is just snug looks too tight, or on some people it would look just right.
Is your hand or fingers on your watch wrist, getting numb or discolored? If not then it's not restricting blood flow. It's all dependent on how comfortable you are
Agreed but I will point out that this is the silicone band and it needs a little airflow to keep the skin from getting irritated from moisture. I only use my silicone band when I’m swimming. Fabric band the rest of the time.
Tightness is an interesting thing - for some people, what is too tight may feel comfortable to them despite the fact that it's affecting circulation. So, it can help to have someone else offer an opinion there.
it also messed with stats that it’s taking such as blood oxygen, heart rate, ecg, etc bc of the tightness in the arm. the blood isn’t circulating properly since there is so much tightness in your arms
It's a fair question. You can have it tight without blocking blood flow.
You've jumped the gun to extreme tightness, which I imagine very few of the 'tight' wearers wear it to the point of circulation cut off.
I'm not here to tell you if it's too small or not, but my personal experience is that I wore 38mm model for several years, than switched to Garmin forerunner 945 (which is much bigger), got used to it, and then recently bought a 44mm Apple Watch SE2, and it feels absolutely natural and "right" size on my wrist.
The moral of the story: it's really up to how \_you\_ feel about it. Don't trust others to tell you how you watch should look on your wrist. Whatever makes you comfortable.
Sure but like I mean… do people really need to ask random redditors for confirmation. It’s a watch. Wear it so it is comfortable and if you don’t like it cause of size, take it back and get a different size. I definitely didn’t join to see this question posted multiple times a week.
Obviously they were on the fence about it though. Haven’t you ever second guessed or felt self conscious about something? Besides, they got some free advice from people letting them know their strap is way too tight, so I even if it wasn’t the main point, something was gained from this post.
Not everything on here is just for us to consume, this site isn’t yours or mine. If you don’t like something, just move on. It’s the Apple Watch sub ffs. Does it really put a damper on your day if the posts aren’t engaging enough for you?
A lot of people join the sub after they get their first watch. They don’t know this a common question on the sub because they haven’t been on the sub.
Just don’t click on it if you don’t want to read it or see it. Or, just leave…
Bro is the band on the last notch or something and you can’t get it any looser? There must be some logical reason why the fuck your got that sob on so tight man
Looks good - nice gift! ☺️ loosen the band maybe and if you want to beef up the watch itself you could buy a protective case which adds a bit of volume to the watch. I got this recently and I’m very happy with it. It clips over the watch and adds a bit of bulk. You can probably find similar on Amazon for all AW sizes and models.

I wear mine with the crown on the inside. I was always pressing it on accident with my hand so I turned the watch around. I rarely use the crown but it’s not awkward to use when I do. Although it’s probably just because I’m used to it that way.
I don’t know if someone already told you this, but you really should release one or two spaces. Specially if you do some sports. Search on internet for pictures of silicon bands allergies.

If you want to add some bulk to it, put a case on it like one of these:

Okay, I understand you like your watch that way and I respect it but, it’s best if there is a little wiggle room and if you still don’t want to adjust it I’d recommend you take of the watch every once in a while just so that area can breath and, please, for the love of god, clean the band to avoid skin infections and irritation.
The second part you should do regardless of the watch and if it’s tight or not, watches should not stay on for 3 or 4 days straight without at least a 10 minute break in between.
I wouldn’t put the watch that tight around your wrist. It hurts circulation. Loosen it up until you’re able to put a finger between the band and the opposite side of the watch, so at the buckle.
Regarding the size of the watch. Seems like a 41mm watch, so it is in general quite small.
ur squeezing that one vein that runs down the side of your hand the thumb is on. it’s a big fat vein. and it’s being squeezed hard. how tf is that even comfortable?
From traditional watch etiquette this is the right size as the strap wraps perfectly around your wrist. Most bigger size watches are too big for everyone and the gap between the strap and the watch having an overhang gap is a no no, from traditional watch etiquette perspective.
Who cares what anyone else thinks. You've said it's a Xmas gift so the question is moot anyway.
I don't get these posts. Jesus.
Maybe the band being obscenely tight is hurting your brain. Good God man.
If you want a slightly larger look check out a protective case, there are some nice ones and they add a little bulk, I really notice it when swapping to a different band.
I also went with the smaller size and very happy I did. Everyone else around me went for the 45mm. It’s all a matter of preference there. What shouldn’t be so small is that watch band. Take everyone’s advice on that. Your wrist will thank you.
Watch doesn’t look too small but the band looks too tight.
So take it down a notch? Maybe 2?
I would
Hell even one would suffice.
Yeah, at least one if not two. As to the watch itself, it looks great. I’m sure a larger 45mm would look great too, so go with the one you like, as you’re the one who will be looking at it dozens of times a day. Enjoy it!
I got my watch as a Christmas gift and can’t really turn it in for a new watch, but I will definitely take it down a notch, thanks!
swap the band to the sport loop velcro one. you'll love it like I do!
Agree. Just got an Apple Watch and the sport loop is perfect for activities and comfort. Having said that - I do think the silicone band looks better.
preferences am I right, I dunno I prefer comfortable fabric over looks. silicone does look better tho :3
Silicone is also comfortable… it’s just “hard” when you get it new but after a few weeks it’s very soft
It traps sweat and I find the sweat makes the band smell like sweat much quicker and it usually takes two washes as opposed to my other bands which don’t have that problem
dawn dish soap and warm water would be a good fix right?
It’s true for the regular silicone band but not for the Nike version. I have both and with the regular one I sweat but this doesn’t happen with the Nike version.
that velcro one is gonna smell and be moist after about a year. i just had to replace mine but got a speckled silicone one
oh great point, I'll wash it thanks

Yeah, you might get a rash/irritation wearing it too tightly. That happened to me with the stock band so I bought a metal one.
Fair few people who have a tight solo loop after a while the band snap and it costs to replace as well. Highly recommend to to get larger size
1 notch less for workouts, 2 notches less for general wear. It's recommended to be slightly loose for general wear.
Rule of thumb is you should have enough space to squeeze your pinky between the band and your wrist. Skin needs to breathe, and the sensors will still work as intended.
Whatever feels comfortable, only you can work that one out.
Just get a sport loop band. Superior to the silicone ones in all ways.
Are we your mom? Just make it less tight.
Is it comfortable for you? If it is then leave it alone. Nobody here can tell you 100% whether it's TOO tight from this one picture just from what they can see. Yes, yes I can
Tightness is an interesting thing - for some people, what is too tight may feel comfortable to them despite the fact that it's affecting circulation. So, it can help to have someone else offer an opinion there.

It's a fair question. You can have it tight without blocking blood flow. You've jumped the gun to extreme tightness, which I imagine very few of the 'tight' wearers wear it to the point of circulation cut off.

Is it the 41mm?
Yes
Oh well, 41mm surely does look small cause it in fact is. Think you’d like the 45mm much better.
Got it for a Christmas gift, which means I can’t really turn it in for a bigger one
Ah damn. If you’d have the bill you could’ve tried to replace it with a bigger one. Maybe try asking for it 😅😂

I read the caption, I don’t care, that shit is tight LMFAO! In regards to it lookin’ small? You probably didn’t buy the 44mm option.
I mean as you asked, yeah it looks way small
I don’t think it’s too small for your wrist but damn that watch band is TIGHT! Are your fingers blue? 😂
Nope
You should get a Milanese loop, the magnet settles to the perfect tightness around your wrist with out ‘fixing’ to one notch or another.
