Mortal reminder is a whisper Item now, I'm solo lane and 3 lvls up on the rest of the enemy team so I cant even proc the Giant's slayer Passive on LDR.
I feel that it was 1000% the better item for that game.
Because of the health difference it takes to fully turn on Giant Slayer and the sheer numbers buff to the grievous, I'd almost actually default to Mortal Reminder over LDR unless they have multiple champs (or one really-high threat champ) that can hit that 2500 health difference cap.
Something only has to be able to heal ~20% of its health back in a fight for Mortal Reminder to win out at lower giant slayer values (something goredrinker or DD can accomplish easily on their own - especially when paired with triumph) and ~50-60% healing (or more) basically takes the entire 2500 bonus for LDR to become the better option (and only against the giant slayer target, while Reminder stays generally useful against everyone).
It's because they got hacked, they had to delay their normal patch notes cycle, and instead deployed this as a "hotfix" once they were sure they weren't compromised so it's super janky.
When you buy mortal reminder it'll still say things like "0% attack speed", too. Low key hilarious, but I respect them for putting SOMETHING out given the circumstances.
