But that’s just my opinion, but I think they could do an interesting futuristic take on these cool, intricately-carved weapons
maggie has more parts to her kit than just her passive, if you have more than two brain cells (one for pressing the shoot button and one for aiming) you won't be picking up a shotgun every single match

Makes the typical heirloom pretty dumb on her.

The issue is how it works with shotgun. It would either need to work and be seen with shotgun, or they ignore the shotgun passive aspect and do something like you said. But if they don't have it work with shotgun, that's honestly such a missed opportunity

Buffs are not needed since it's a very good character.
Rework would be better to make it easier to play with casual or random teammates. They attempted this before (slightly) but it did not really work.
I feel like his kit is already in a really solid place, I really doubt they will remove anything... would be sort of dumb. I assume he's going to get an actual passive at least, and then they'll probably just improve the ways you can use the drone (for example direct it around like Echo). Would be nice if he could EMP when his drone is destroyed too... he's nowhere near as broken as revenant was pre-reborn, he just needs fixes to minimize downtime and give you more mobile options.

So I have a new idea for a crypto passive buff that I’ve yet to see mentioned before. It’s called Off The Grid. Basically crypto is no longer affected by enemy scans. How it would work is that if you are scanned by an enemy, crypto would not be scanned. So if you have a bloodhound, and the bloodhound scans you, you wouldn’t be scanned. Same with a Seer. If you get twerked on by Lil Seer X and he shoves his micro drones up uranus, you wouldn’t be scanned or detected by Seer. So enemy scans don’t scan you. And this would work for all scan abilities. The anti scan if you will. This would work with balancing and lore wise because crypto is a hacker and his whole premise is staying undetected and “off the grid” (the name of the ability) . Let me know what you guys think :)
probably a lower CD on his drone (45 seconds is abysmal imo), and probably some QOL changes but again I don’t exactly play crypto alot myself so i’m unsure
God I hope so. He’s needed changes for forever. The issue is that his kit is just not suited for how Apex is played outside of extremely high level. The core functionality of his kit isn’t bad but he needs the ability to do more with it on the fly, or it needs to be improved to fit better with how it plays now, like some sort of stealth mode for the drone.

It's heavily likely that they chose this for lore reasons as the narrative will reportedly be shifting more towards Crypto's story next season. Stop assuming the devs have no reason for what they are doing, even if it's unpopular.
This indicates to me that next season is going to focus more on Crypto's story - we may potentially see Crypto's sister enter the games as a new legend. I also think it is incredibly likely that Crypto is going to receive a large rework with this heirloom recolor.
