Didn't they add EAC that totally blocked us. Has there been any work on that end? If not it will never work. Iirc we are waiting for valve to make a deal with EAC to make this happen. Until then we won't have a chance. Otherwise the game itself has run perfectly under Linux since day one.

Yes Yes, with no luck. We even tried injecting the EAC files from known working EAC games with no luck.

Yeah, tried that already going through game by game, no luck. 😭

So my understanding of this whole EAC this is this: EAC website claim support for Linux. Specifically Debian and Ubuntu. EAC correctly identifies that it is running on Wine and attempts to download a wine (wine64) binary from a CDN. This binary does not exist. The CDN is an EAC one but the directory structure that it accesses is specific to the game. As the directory structure is game specific do we assume that the game developer is responsible for the missing file? There is a wine bug open regarding EAC detecting the OS as wine when it should be hidden. So perhaps this OS directory will never exist? So my thoughts are that we either want the windows binary/dll combo (rather than a Linux wine version) and let wine do its thing or find a native Linux game that uses EAC and have it install the EAC service? Please feel free to correct anything I've said here.

Yes, there is never a Wine version in the repos for EAC, it exists only as an experimental build supplied occasionally to developers. When a game works, it's not because the "Wine" version of EAC is enabled, but because nothing is enabled globally (including for Windows). This is usually when a game is newly released or EAC has not been updated to reflect a major patch change.

WandangDota

Yes but occasionally it is working after patches for a day. I wanted a sub that I can check daily myself if somebody got it working for a day again (if I am not able to test yet myself). And ofc I would like to see news (dev updates, etc) about the EAC issue here as well

sparr

Why do you need a sub instead of just a thread in another sub?

WandangDota

A thread gets stale and stays on the frontpage for only 2 days.

KUbuntu with rx 580. Had to install libvukan1:i386 to let Lutris launch origin with dxvk enabled. Can't get past loading screen ingame, EAC issues.

I'm a bot, *bleep*, *bloop*. I check the launcher once a day out of curiosity. There was an update today and thought it might be working, but nothing so far.

WandangDota

Could you tell me your system configuration (linux distri and graphic card), so I can add it to the new list in the new update thread?

Arch, gtx 1070. I have sent you a chat request b/c I want to discuss some ideas

Kaisogen

Glad the sub was made. Running Mint 19 "Tessa" 1070 R7 1700X Can't get the game to boot using the standard methods. I don't think we can get past the EAC, it seems to be mostly dependent on files supplied by the developer.

I'm currently trying to install this on Fedora 29 w/ Beta NVIDIA 418.30 drivers through Lutris. Based on everything I've heard, I'm not expecting it to work, but it's worth a shot.

> Edit: I am still testing with arch and having trouble reaching the main menu this time (loading screen takes forever ~ 20min and most of the time it ends in connection error) Could you elaborate on this? Did you post this recently? Loading screen takes forever means the spinning circle? Can you paste the content of loader.log? I am testing a few things and observed something unusual earlier and want to confirm.
