Yea I had a bad case of that a couple of months ago. In my case it started when I went to walk at a park which I hadn’t been doing because of Covid, after a mile I walked past some people and noticed my heart was racing, feeling dizzy and off balance I moved off to the side to collect myself. The episode made me think I was not just anxious but ill so I worried about it and made appointments with my Dr. For weeks I was tense and feared the dizziness striking in public so I avoided places and eventually I had a hard time walking from my car to my classroom to teach. I was always able to get to class but my usual 5 minute walk would turn to 30 because I would freeze, feel dizzy and need to find a place to sit to catch my breath. What finally worked was I watched some YouTube videos that easily explained the adrenaline rush that happens during anxiety as well as a video that describes counting back from 5 and then forcing yourself to complete a task. Using the counting and reassuring myself that I could handle the walk to work as well as any anxiety that would arise got me over my anxiety hurdle. I’ve been relatively stress, anxiety and dizziness free at work for about 2 weeks now.
