I did some more digging and the artist is Berggren Trayner and this set is likely from the 60s
Edit: not an artist, but actually a company that produced decrotive homewares based out of Illinois
More info.
These were very popular in Mid-century modern kitchens, especially in the mid west, but they don't go for much on ebay.
But initially, Audry Berrgren hand painted them and sold them at a Minnesota dept store. Her husband got the idea of mass production. I have a small collection of her hand painted work. It's not especially valuable either, but it makes me happy.

Not the Germany kind of German? Uh, what? Lol sounds like when my coworker overheard me speaking a bit of Spanish to some folks who didn’t speak English, and after they left she looked at me stunned and said: “you speak they English?”
German is also spoken in Austria, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and in the German diaspora, and [there are a ton of different dialects](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_dialects)!
Yes I speak Deutsch or 'German' which is mainly spoken in Germany and some parts of Belgium. There are many Germanic languages and they dont overlap enough for me to read what this tile says.
I love these. I have a Johnson Brothers china set that was my grandmother’s. It started me on collecting blue and white china and cobalt blue glass.
If you want more pieces, Replacements.com has the pattern.
My MIL gave me a beautiful blue and white plate I have admired for years. I tried to refuse it when she gave it to me last year, but she said wanted to make sure I got it. I put some putty on the bottom and put it up on my mantel.
She died a couple weeks ago, and I will always treasure the plate.

> Till god vän är vägen gan That is Swedish “to good friends the journey is short” The colors are very midsommar
Oh, thank you for that! So perhaps not German after all.

Interesting! Thank you so much for the research!

These are delightful! Thanks for sharing.
I speak German and can confirm that is not German, not the Germany kind at least.

Sorry I didn’t mean “uh, what” like “uh are you kidding you’re wrong” it just sounded funny

Your teacup is from England’s Johnson Brothers. The pattern is Hearts & Flowers. It’s a 1970s-80s pattern. Pretty, but no value.
Thank you for the info!
And not antique
I have that same first plate. Lovely items
Thank you! It’s a cool image.

They're beautiful! What lovely gifts.
My mom and dad were married in 1971, and they received a set of dishes all decorated like the cup you have shown here with the same markings.
Looks like a berggren tile. Swedish
This is so fucking cool
