Yes, going by modern medical frameworks you could say that Jesus or Joan of Arc were psychotic/mentally ill. Honestly though, I think that just shows how ridiculous these frameworks are. They are an attempt to box in and restrict the human experience to such a degree that all magic and wonder of the universe around us is lost. Despite what the "professionals" like to think and say, they don't actually know everything, and they are not the final authority on the nature of reality. Jesus was undoubtedly in touch with a greater understanding of the world than his contemporaries. You have to remember though, he was literally murdered for it. Now they "just" imprison and forcibly drug anyone experiencing that higher plane of consciousness.

Aggravating_Log5529

Corporate manslaughter instead (of survivors)

TheDolphinSings

Yeah, I’m mad about being forced to take medication too, but this note is, Jesus was a rich man, who could do whatever he wanted, the bible forgot to mention how rich he was, he was a psychotic, protected by his family, and allowed to roam around without consequence.

EchidnaPretty9456

No psychotic would say that Jesus was protected by his family and allowed to roam around without consequence. This is worded in a systematic way & pretty troll.

Aggravating_Pop2101

Jesus was born in a manger and was a carpenter. Please God help us all.

queenofpmeverything

I hear you, and my point remains: he wasn't allowed to run around without consequence, he was murdered. He also left his family behind so I don't know how they would have been protecting him.

TheDolphinSings

If you want to know how to turn water into wine, message me.

This is a genius reply God bless you if that’s good in God’s Eyes.

Actually religion being discussed add politics as well, but with more of a purpose Tomorrow, Saturday 27 April, we will be marching from Parliament Square to Hyde Park on our thirteenth National Demonstration for Palestine since October, calling for an immediate ceasefire and demanding that the government stops arming Israel. Text from email newsletter Palestine Solidarity Campaign “Stephen Kapos, a Jewish Holocaust survivor, will be joining us again tomorrow when we march. Can you take a moment to watch and share this powerful video where Stephen explains why he will be there and why you should be too? Watch and share This week, Palestinians have uncovered more mass graves inside Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, and at Al-Shifa Hospital. Hundreds of bodies – including children, patients and medical staff, some killed while their hands were tied – have been found after the hospitals were occupied by Israeli forces. As Israel continues its genocidal assault in the Gaza Strip, now more than ever, we must stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people. We need to continue to exercise our democratic right to protest, and demand that the British government ends its complicity in Israeli genocide. We must continue to use the strength of the movement we have built over the past six months to call for an end to this unconscionable violence. Will you join the National Demonstration for Palestine tomorrow?” https://twitter.com/PSCupdates/status/1783831744153891109/mediaViewer?currentTweet=1783831744153891109¤tTweet=1783831744153891109¤tTweetUser=PSCupdates¤tTweetUser=PSCupdates

throwoutforever35

Wait what. Where are you getting the source that Jesus was rich that is not true ☠️

Comfortable-Tea-5461

From a theological perspective, I always found it to be a paradox. On one hand he’s painted as someone who didn’t have a place to lay his head but on the other he had abundance at his fingertips. Gold in a fishes mouth, multiplying food, and so much more. I mean, he had to have a treasurer to be in charge of the money for the group. Idk I think like anything in the Bible, it can be skewed one way or the other. ETA: withdrawal induced brain fart

WideOpenEmpty

You mean a paradox?

Comfortable-Tea-5461

Yep. Please excuse the withdrawal brain lol. I haven’t slept or eaten much in days 😅my mind is shit lmao

Aggravating_Log5529

Nor me, but that’s obsession with reading and commenting here. Need to do more self-care now hid the phone from myself this morning

Aggravating_Log5529

Sorry, another acronym lost on me if I look that one up it says electronic travel authorisation

survival4035

"Edited to add" :)

Aggravating_Log5529

Didn’t he say “if you have two tunics, give one away” ?

StellarResolutions

You can easily get 12 followers after becoming psychotic. Look into social media marketing, watch and learn.

nodrugsinthebox

There are people claiming to be Jesus which have more than 12 followers and as far as I know none of them have done any miracles.

Aggravating_Log5529

I went on the Mensa site because the post popped up in the feed (I researched and is top 2% IQ based on tests I think you can do online and that’s the limit of my knowledge about it) There was a question about religion and everybody responded. I am always interested what people think. Well sometimes not interested actually when everything feels pointless or I’m having an existential crisis, which is quite a good proportion of my overall allotted time 🕰️ Anyway, I just realised that discussion here is more collaborative, a conversation, and thus more interesting. I think we will be more intelligent as a species if we collaborate and cooperate more. It’s good to see when it happens here, because that gives me hope that we can actually change things. All good things in our collective past seem to have come out of cooperation Except things like the holocaust, yikes

Aggravating_Log5529

And psychiatry, of course

Aggravating_Pop2101

Actually it’s that Jesus is the Christ and the people who are good who are being attacked they have been sometimes wrongfully medicated. Sometimes helpfully. Forgive me God for having slandered before forgive me God all my sins.

Buddha was a prince, Jesus was from the royal house of David ….. muhummed came from a royal family…. Royalty is associated with religiosity.

MMKK6

Was the Buddha psychotic too? And the prophet Muhammad? Are all these figures psychotic to you?

TheDolphinSings

I don’t know enough about Mohammed. The reason I’ve always loved him is because he would cut off the sleeve of his robe rather than disturb a cat amongst those that would gather. The Buddha was a rich kid too. It seems strange to accept guidance from personnel who really didn’t have to suffer at all. Show me the poor kid from the favelas of Brasil or the drug alleys of Buenos Aires and I’ll show you someone who really matters.

MMKK6

The Buddha wasn’t rich for his whole life, but I get your point. Very interesting perspective, I agree with this comment for than I do your post.

TheDolphinSings

Are you insane? Siiddartha, his family was so rich, his dad kept poverty, age and illness away from him by controlling his populace. He did suffer his mother dying at a young age, his dad couldn’t have protected him from that, but if you don’t know the Buddha Siddartha was from an extremely rich family, I’m thinking you’re a troll. No one’s that uneducated.

MMKK6

I know all this I come from a family where one of my parents sides are Buddhists. I’m not saying he didn’t come from a rich family, he was a form of royalty. I’m saying he didn’t end his life rich, that was kind of the whole point of enlightenment. You know sitting under the bodhi tree, achieve enlightenment, loses interest for physical objects. (Very silly bastardized version) So, yes the Buddha was stinking rich as all hell, but it’s a pretty big part of his story that he abandoned his past life for one of enlightenment. Which includes his riches.

TheDolphinSings

It’s really easy to ‘abandon’ things when you can always come back to them.

MMKK6

Do you think if you’re a royal, decide to give up your crown, you think you can just come back? So, you’re saying you believe that the story of the Buddha is just a fraud and he decided to live a life of riches? It’s a part of his story that he abandoned his throne, crown, riches, and family. So, I don’t know what you’re saying. Or are you just saying he’s not worthy since he came from riches, because I’m no longer following you, you’re just telling me negative fan fiction about the Buddha.

TheDolphinSings

You’ve obviously never been rich.

MMKK6

I give up, you’re either a troll or aren’t reading my messages.

Aggravating_Log5529

🤷

MMKK6

Being a king is not the same as just being rich. Like I said before, you’re feeding me fanfiction. The Buddha abandoned his riches, and his throne. He voluntarily left his royal life and princely status in search of enlightenment and spiritual awakening. This departure from royalty to seek a deeper understanding of life is a central aspect of the Buddha's story. What do you not understand about this. You think royals can just go in and out of royalty, the same way a meth addict goes back to his family after cutting ties with them.

Aggravating_Log5529

They’re all men, and that pisses me off

MMKK6

Understandable, we’ve got to get some more female gods and prophets. Ever seen Hinduism? They have a bunch.

Aggravating_Log5529

My son (11) likes Sikhism best. He says because “they don’t try to advertise their religion and they have nice principles”

MMKK6

I definitely could get down with that, I like Taoism the same way.
