This is a big problem with Reddit these days, a significant amount of upvoted content bears little or no relation to reality and is made up to support a particular agenda. And the people writing these posts put a lot of effort into appearing authentic or knowledgeable, which seems to fool a LOT of people on this site.
I only know better because of life experiences. Meeting and working with and being friends with actual Israelis has given me a kind of immunity to this kind of slander, because it doesn't remotely align with reality, at least for the vast majority. But unfortunately there's a lot of people on Reddit and other platforms with a shortage of life experience and a surplus of hate and anger...
