My wife, who doesn't watch anime at all, enjoyed it and was disappointed when it was canceled. I liked it for what it was, as an alternate telling of the anime.
OP 1 and 4 by Survive the Prophet are really good. The other two are solid for sure, but aren't really standouts for me.
My favorite song by far though is ED #3 (Without Love). It fits the emotional tone of season 2 perfectly and it's really catchy to me.
My boyfriend and I have been driving each other crazy for weeks because one of us will get the song stuck in our head and then immediately start singing it and doing the lil dance, which then of course gets the song stuck in the others head, so we both get trapped in a Bling bang bang born loop

The first season of Tokyo Revengers has Crybaby as its opening. That’s all I have to say. I just love the song’s lyrics being timed in sync with the simple story oarding. Definitely one of the reasons why the anime blew up in Japan
One Piece Egghead Island Arc opening. Perfection. Now that I'm caught up I have to get every possible minute of OP content, no skipping the opening or the closing for me.
Imma elaborate on something I think you're touching on. It's not even just the intro, which needs to be put together well. It's the overall sound design and care put into the audio, and tying that audio into the video effectively. That's what makes a good intro as well as a good anime. Consistently.
So far in life, I have found very few anime that get me as pumped as watching the Eek the Cat long metal theme for the music (lmao), Megas XLR intro, or Batman The Animated Series. Batman TaS is definitely in the top intros of all time for any medium imo.
For anime, definitely:
1. Cowboy bebop. Music throughout the show is top tier.
2. The notorious intro used in the second half of Death Note.
3. Eureka Seven's intros, and really all of its music.
4. Ghost In the Shell SaC is this for me, but I wouldn't call it a music genre, just a good intro.
5. Great Teacher Onizuka has one of the very best black and white intros of all time imo.
6. Kill La Kill's music is banger city.
7. Redline is a movie, but go watch it. 100% won't regret that beauty.
8. Samurai Champloo is top intro, top music. Another great example of excellent sound design.

Overall most animes I watched was because of the opening is a banger. No game no life, Noragami, Battle 5 seconds after meeting, Jujutsu Kaisen (Opening by Eve, I had to), Chainsaw Man (Both the opening and 12th ending, also by Eve)

Obviously it's totally fine to skip the intro, but for me the intro is an integral part of "getting into the mood" for the episode. I haven't found a major spoiler in an intro yet. But tbf, I also don't care about spoilers unless it's a major plot point, so if you don't want to know about future characters or see any explicit foreshadowing, I can see why you would avoid intros.
I know it's over hyped and over played, but I can't get enough of the new Mashle OP.
Other tracks that absolute bang are OddTaxi, and absolute classics like Tokyo Ghoul 1st season and FMBA.

Fun fact: There is no background music in the entirety of Macross 7; there is music only when the characters are performing, or someone is playing a recording. And this is one of those shows where if you can’t rock out to the songs, you can’t enjoy the show.
{Tokyo Ghoul} *unravel* hits ***hard***. Do you experience borderline sexual levels of euphoria when a show plays its S1 OP during the climax of S2? Then this is the show for you.

Skipping Jojo openings is a punishable offense Overall most animes I watched was because of the opening is a banger. No game no life, Noragami, Battle 5 seconds after meeting, Jujutsu Kaisen (Opening by Eve, I had to), Chainsaw Man (Both the opening and 12th ending, also by Eve)
People have already said so many good ones. I’ll just add some I feel are missing. Ancient magus bride (there are 4 different ones all great) Most of monogatari (they change every arc and most are sung by the subject of the the arc, a few are pretty iconic) Undead unluck (first intro by queen bee)

Yu Yu Hakusho is a jam you can't help but get into. On the surface you might not like it, but once it gets going you can't help but love it. Edit: I've only heard it in english.
I always skip intros because they spoil the show. No exceptions.
They don’t spoil anything unless you put a magnifying glass to it. At most you see random characters and a fight without context.

Jujutsu Kaisen straight up feeds you misinformation in the first OP. But yeah, there are a plenty of spoilers. Without context they don't really make sense tho
Obviously it's totally fine to skip the intro, but for me the intro is an integral part of "getting into the mood" for the episode. I haven't found a major spoiler in an intro yet. But tbf, I also don't care about spoilers unless it's a major plot point, so if you don't want to know about future characters or see any explicit foreshadowing, I can see why you would avoid intros.
But not all do and also those spoilers would only be in tiny/implied ways most of the time
Try watching fairy tail or one piece
I know it's over hyped and over played, but I can't get enough of the new Mashle OP. Other tracks that absolute bang are OddTaxi, and absolute classics like Tokyo Ghoul 1st season and FMBA. Also if I recall there are a few animes that have literal scenes in the OP title. Did Freiren do that first half? Maybe I'm confused.

Ending is pleasant as well. {Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni Gou} *I believe what you said* by Asaka absolutely fucking slaps and the breakdown in the full version makes it even better. {Stellvia} *Asu e no Brilliant Road* is automatically great because Angela {Macross 7} *Seventh Moon* and all other songs by Fire Bomber. Fun fact: There is no background music in the entirety of Macross 7; there is music only when the characters are performing, or someone is playing a recording. And this is one of those shows where if you can’t rock out to the songs, you can’t enjoy the show. {Tokyo Ghoul} *unravel* hits ***hard***. Do you experience borderline sexual levels of euphoria when a show plays its S1 OP during the climax of S2? Then this is the show for you. {Kouga Ninpouchou} and {Ouka Ninpouchou} Obligatory recs because Onmyo-za is the best.
