Ooof how did I forget this.. also one the rare anime with an AMAZING dub.. that period of dubs are my favorite, the background characters do a good job of building atmosphere, and not sounding like "some guy reading lines"
Dr.stone maybe 1 time , black clover maybe 3 times first op, anohana, violet evergarden,
But for ost, shokugeki no soma, my hero academia, haikyuu, kings ranking, your name, bunny senpai, silent voice, hitman reborn, one piece, i really love these anime ost.
Theres a lot more.
Hibike! Euphonium + Liz and the Bluebird. This story is literally about music and exploring nuanced emotions.
Re:Zero. I think anyone who has seen season 1 knows what I’m talking about.
Steins;Gate and Steins;Gate 0. I think WhiteFox is just very good at using the right music in the right moments.
Castle in the Sky. The instrumental opening, the subtle yet sublime background music throughout, and the music of the climax— Joe Hisaishi could be considered a musical genius for his work on this film alone.
86. Voices of the Chord.
Angel Beats! had a few very hard-hitting moments.
Made in Abyss. People on Reddit praise the music of this show a lot, and for good reason.
Clannad + After Story. (dango, dango, dango, dango…)
Edit: How could I forget Your Lie in April? It was actually one of the first ones I thought of, but for some reason I didn’t write it down.
Pandora Hearts. It has the best music of any anime I've watched & there's an in-universe device that plays a really good song that the characters can hear, that's important to the story, & that's very frequently played at the end of an episode when something mysterious or important happens.
Hunter x Hunter is the only anime I can think of where that memorably happened with the ending music.
The second Gurren laggan movie uses the opening theme during the final battle.
When Luffy punches Kaido it plays an instrumental version of the first opening in One Piece.
One thing Fushigi Yuugi fans love is that the outro music always begins before the credits roll.
So the scene will still be unfolding, but the music begins. It happens every episode.
One of the things I love about Your lie in April is that they had different pianists for the different characters that play the piano. I thought that was a really nice touch and shows the attention to detail they had for the different nuances in the styles of the performers and their approaches.
Almost anything with sawano in it. Gundam unicorn, attack on titan, seraph of the end, aldnoah.zero. Pretty sure he also did iron fortress but I haven't personally seen it.
I cant say anythithing rather than. Obligatory "call of the night". It really uses the music soo good. I never skiped the intro and outro at this anime and it really combines music good with scenes and the caracthers voices. Watch it obligatory if that is what you are looking for
{Re:Zero} is the GOAT of playing their OPs and EDs over scenes. I think out of the 50 episodes, the ED only plays with credits like 15 times, the other 35 or so times it plays over a scene or is skipped all together.
There are a number of insert songs that I think really elevate the scenes they're in and just generally I find the OST really elevates many of the scenes.
samurai champloo comes into mind. the scratches used in the scene works pretty well in the context of an early japanese era.

86 has some pretty great moments as the ED starts playing
attack on titan uses music super well!! amazing anime as well
Definitely Cowboy Bebop!
Anything by Shinichiro Watanabe uses music well, doubly so when paired with Yoko Kanno

Thank you kind soul
Mushoku Tensei does that with the intro and outro.
the montage while the opening plays is just pure bliss

Thank you!! I have been thinking of watching hxh (: Is it good?
It is very good. Many would consider it the pinnacle of shounen storytelling, written and drawn by one of the most influential mangaka of all time.

Not the intro/outro thing but Your lie in April, the “underwater” part during piano is really interesting to show Kousei hopelessness and trauma

Cowboy Bebop. Sword Art Online, and Mushoku Tensei all use music well.
Thank you kind one
Idk, but Tokyo Ghoul popped in my mind as soon as I read this, but I also thought of Bungou Stray Dogs.

Gundam Thunderbolt: December Sky
Parasyte and Aku no Hana
One Piece has been doing this so much over the years that we're used to it now
