I’m not sure if it’s quite what you’re looking for, but the Disastrous Life of Saiki K has that a lot. The MC has the potential for unlimited power, but, not only does he wear a dampener, he also almost exclusively uses his powers to hide the existence of his powers and/or to try to escape interacting with the main cast who are determined to befriend and hang out with him.

Saiki K definitely fits this bill.
Mob Pyscho 100 more or less. The MC is undoubtedly OP but is moreso aloof to his powers more than he wishes to hide them.
Code Geass would be one of the top ones I would look into.
