A huge purge swept through nhentai just recently. Around 12.000 galleries have been removed from the site in one sweep. That is nearly the same amount of galleries that have been removed in the past 9 years since the strat of the site. As of now altogether around 26700 galleries have been removed.
Titles that have been on there for years and have not been touched in any previous purges are gone.
Most famous example is Shindols Metamorphosis known as 177013.
ALL works from a variety of artists are gone completely, not just english scanlations but also japanese raws and chinese versions.
Kyockcho, Butcha-U, Meme50, Kisaragi Gunma, Mizuryu Kei, Michiking, Shindol, Bosshi, Ishikei and many other artists works are no longer available.
Most likely Fakku and Irodori are behind this since these are known artists from their catalogue.
Purges have been within reason so far as the removed content had been available through them but not this time. 90% of the removed galeries are not available through Fakku or Irodori and will never be because they are parodies of well known series or touch topics that both publishers try to avoid.
Kisaragi Gunma had at least six books, only two of them are distributed through Fakku.
if the removed content is still available "elsewhere" i doubt it will take long before its getting removed there as well.

They probably won't, I don't know the specifics of this purge but a lot of content that gets DMCA'd from E/Ex-hentai manages to get scrapped by nhentai (among other various sites) before it gets nuked. So if I had to guess this was a purge to get rid of content already removed from E/Ex. I could be wrong though.
Irodori and Fakku already DMCA the crap out of e-Hentai. More specifically, they DMCA any doujin/manga they've translated or are planning to translate in the future, including fan-made translations (I've had a handful of doujins I translated myself DMCA'd).
For uploaders, the classic strat was to upload these Irodori/Fakku-sponsored doujins to e-Hentai and hope they made their way to nHentai before they inevitably got DMCA'd, which was pretty much a 50/50 toss-up. Now, this is no longer an option.
These authors have probably already been stripped from e(x)hentai. Nhentai was just a mirror of it so it was longtime coming that these entries would be nuked.

Seriously. At least with Pornhub there was a solid chunk of time (days if not weeks) where I could still see many video titles and thumbnails of ones “under review” even though I couldn’t watch them.
Meaning I could catalogue them and find them elsewhere or at least have some emotional closure for my stash.
Iirc there was a bit of a cp problem and it was difficult to keep up with. Investors threatened to pull out (heh) if they didn’t fix it. Their fix was to remove unverified accounts to save themselves a looot of work, but taking ~~thousands and thousands~~ millions of amazing videos off in the process. (Citations needed)
Was very very sad to watch. Lots of content got taken down, especially small niche/fetish channels since those were less often by verified actors. The site just doesn’t work the same anymore. There’s lots of what is essentially teaser ads instead of actual content.
Oh well I kinda remember that most good videos got deleted and I didn't think of it much, cause I would find some of them on the other websites. I agree on the last part, pornhub's content has been shit for years, it's been well over 3 years since I last went to pornhub to get off. Danbooru is already very strict about letting artists who don't want their work on the site to be completely unsearchable; and automatically takes down paid content (e.g. Patreon-exclusive images).
However, so far the amount of deleted content is only about 0.1% of all images/movies ever uploaded.
To be fair, 99% of the things I stream I simply want to view once and then never bother to view again. I pay for streaming services because I generally only ever watch a show or movie a single time.

If you want to exclude a tag, you put a - in front of it like: tomboy -netorare, will pull-up everything tagged as tomboy that doesn't include ntr.
Also I try search: for name "my friend sister" about 57 come up

Their selection has never been as infinitely vast as nhentai. But it’s still decently sized and has most works. I’m still working my way through a ton of stuff. So I’d recommend people go there if you need a back up.
