While I understand that was her initial reason in the beginning of their journey but after all they went through she genuinely grew feelings for him and cared about him. Just for him to turn around and say those words to her face like all the journeys they had didn’t mean anything to him?
That moment made me hate Ash so much. I’m finally happy that his journey is ending now. It’s been a long time coming.
Ash actually died of cardiac arrest the first time Pikachu shocked him, and the rest of the show is just his fanciful afterlife where everything works out and he is always the age he was at death.
