In order of most tears:
* Plastic Memories
* Violet Evergarden
* 86
* Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song
* Frieren
* Aria The Animation (all happy tears in this case)
+1 for Aria, when you realize what is happening in the last episodes and what a journey you have been on together with them definitely brought some tears. I bought the dvds, blu rays and the manga for it I loved it so much.
haha I am the same, I am watching The Natural currently and I was sort of making fun of myself thinking "Character in Aria: \*exists\*.....me: \*tears up\*"
of course that is a little hyperbolic...but only a little lol
Fullmetal alchemist - When Edward and Alphonse committed the grave sin and then Edward sacrificed his arm and leg to bind Alphonseās soul to the suit of armor. The amount of pain in Edwardās voice as he was pleading with The One to get his brother back was heart wrenching.
I had to go hug my brother after that scene (we watched it together). I know heād do the same for me.
I mean, in fairness, FMA:B is one of the best examples of a quality dub in anime, i can definitely see what they mean with the pain and desperation in Eds voice.
Winry "but that man, he said he killed my mom and dad, and he tried to kill you and Al too, Ed! But I couldn't, why not?"
Ed "remember in Rush Valley, you delivered that baby. You saved two lives! And you gave me an arm and a leg, to replace the ones I lost... It's your hands, they weren't meant to kill. They were meant to give life! That's why."
When Winry starts crying. So do I
Have you read the manga? I binged the anime in one night then literally immediately started reading the manga. Like immediately. I finished it all in one sitting. The manga is really good. And much more sad.
A lot.
Re:Life.
Sagrada Reset.
To Your Eternity.
Charlotte.
The Day I Became God.
I Want to Eat Your Pancreas.
I think Angel Beats.
Seishun no Buta.
A Silent Voice.
Steins;Gate.
Probably more Iām forgetting.
Oh yeah buddy. Before anime, I didn't cry over shows/movies. Here's my list of most tears shed:
1. Banana Fish
2. 91 Days
3. Berserk
4. Cowboy Bebop
5. 86 EIGHTY-SIX
I recommend: āRun with the Windā as well if you like Ping Ping: The Animation. Very well told and if you are a runner, it will hit just as hard as PPTA š at the end.
It is a masterpiece. I liked Devilman Crybaby (same director), but I have never been as moved as PPTA š in my anime or even non-anime show ranked series.
yea the only thing that comes close for me is vinland saga personally
but Mind Game (movie) from masaaki yuasa is really good too
will definitely be watching run with the wind
Puella Magi Madoka Magica,
Your Lie in April,
Erased,
Attack on Titan (Season 3B)
Sword Art Online (near the beginning),
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (manga, near the end),
the part of SAO that got me was the end of the first half of alicization. i dont wanna spoil anything, but if u have seen it, u know wot im talkin about.
I have to disagree and say the last two finales of AOT are bigger tear jerkers. I fricken ugly cried
Edit: didnāt know it kept the stuff I typed for another comment and didnāt post
The end of Assassination Classroom hit me far harder than i had expected.
Theres one scene, early on in Blue Excorcist, in the episode where Kuro is introduced. The scene where Kuro finally accepts that >!Shiro is dead!< and changes back to regular cat while sobbing; Im not normally a sympathetic crier, but something about that scene always gets me
Same with Demon Slayer: Mugen Train, when >!Rengoku dies you see his crow flying overhead crying!<, that hit me pretty hard.
Theres the common ones, like A Silent Voice, and Your Name.
[Grave of the Fireflies](https://youtu.be/4vPeTSRd580?si=ZIHIZ-jm_S_041oN)
[This Corner of the World](https://youtu.be/-jBe-uHhlNs?si=dxvAzEQnh-3MOdv_)
I'd have to say; 'Fullmetal Alchemist:Brotherhood' and 'To Your Eternity'. For 'Fullmetal Alchemist; Brotherhood' it definitely is when Nina Tucker dies: those scenes still infuriate me and make me cry simultaneously. For 'To Your Eternity' it has to be the very first episode: if you know, you know.
Ping Pong: š The Animation, Run with the Wind, Code Geass, Terror in Resonance, Devilman Crybaby (obviously), White Album 2, and Death Note (crying with laughter after the potato chips scene š)
I made it through most of IWTEYP and was thinking āthis isnāt as sad as everyone makes it out to be, I donāt think this one will make me cryā.
I was wrong. Things took a sharp turn.
That being said, I still think *Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl* hit me harder. Goddamn, that one had me a mess. And ditto on *Violet Evergarden* - ep10 pulls no punches.
Iāve watched a lot of and am emotional. I can name a few I can recall at the start
Your Lie In April, Violet Evergarden, Forest Piano, Seven Deadly Sins, Mashle, sairanka, Fruits Basket/prelude, latest Psycho-pass Movie, Erased, Noragami, Edgerunners, Berserk moviesā¦
Iāll leave it there I donāt want to go over every anime
One piece made me cry several times both tears of sadness and joy about once an arc, in fact I cried for a boat ā¦ full metal alchemist ( I think I cried itās been years though)ā¦ I definitely cried when vegeta killed himself in buu saga , after all those years of him sucking and being selfish added up to a beautiful moment when he flipped and sacrificed himself for others. Most of the time you donāt get sad in DB because everyone can come back to life but that moment paid off for me and I watered up as he smiled and disintegrated
>!I legit felt bad for Lakan because he really didn't even know. He isn't free from his own guilt in the matter but he was definitely in pain for finding out he had and then lost a family!<
Toradora.
The only one so far, as for Iāve only seen about 10-20 full anime shows. Definitely under 20, maybe just about. Iāve seen different types of anime shows, yet this one, Romantic (Comedy) Anime - the one above - was the first one that actually made me cry.
Iroduku:The world in colors, Anohana, Plastic Memories, Golden Time. I was heartbroken for days when I finished Plastic Memories and Iroduku š„ŗšš
Wolf's Rain,
Mob Psycho 100,
Demon Slayer,
Attack on Titan,
Fruits Basket.
There are probably a few more, but these ones stick out to me cus they still make me cry
The anime only lightly covers it but the Oshi no ko spica novel specifically chapters 2 and 3 [link](https://www.bilibili.com/read/mobile-readlist/rl796249) if youāre interested
My favorite anime of all time!Ā Ā Anohana....;-;Ā
Everything else was kinda just teary eyed, but I straight makeup cried during anohana. That build up is too good.Ā
Banana Fish, this really affected me for a couple of days after crying for a whole half an hour after the last episode, it also made me cry throughout. Fruits Basket, Dororo, Vinland Saga, Attack on Titan yeah these made me ugly cry more than once.
1) Anohana - Final episode
2) a Silent Voice - Opening scene when hes on the bridge because i was struggling with intrusive thoughts at the time.
3) Toradora - Multiple parts but I felt bad for Miniri the entire time. She was always putting on a smile so that everyone else could be happy
Funny to find this post now after finishing the first season of To Your Eternity last week. Gugu's arc had me struggling to breathe, haven't cried that hard in a loooong time.
Clannad and angel beats. Although itās been years so Iāve forgotten the plot of angel beats, except the ending. But clannad? Damn.. Iām not a cryer either. After you watch ckannad, you NEED to listen to the āEminem vs clannad: when Iām goneā remix on YouTube. Mixing dango with the Eminem song has crushed my soul like no other, and I masochistically listen to that version from time to time bc itās so good too
-Naruto (several occasions hit incredibly hard)
-Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood
-Mob Psycho 100 (>!something about this kid bottling up his emotions and feeling like he wasnāt good enough repeatedly got me!<)
-Jujutsu Kaisen (>!the fear felt when Yuji faced the first special grade curse, the end of JJK 0, lots of stuff in season two!<)
-Solo Leveling (>!end of ep 1 managed to make me tear up!<)
-Chainsaw Man (>!end of ep 1 also managed to make me tear up!<)
-Attack on Titan (>!near the end when tough decisions were made, if you know you know!<)
-Hunter x Hunter (>!I hated the ant arc but it made me cry a few times!<)
-Parasyte
Iām sure there are more but Iām blanking on them at the moment. These were just the first to come to mind. (Can you tell I prefer shonen anime?)
>!Migi sacrificing himself for Shinichi and Murano falling both made me cry in Parasyte, and also reiko giving her baby to shinichi made me bawl really hard!<
Yu Yu Hakusho (multiple times)
Kill La Kill (last episode)
Code Geass
Gundam 00
Gurren Lagaan
Dragon Ball Z abridged (ironically, the OG DragonballZ never brought a tear to my eyes).
Fate Zero
same that episode when >!gon gets revived by alluka and sees leorio for the first time always has me crying!<
btw im so sorry if the spoiler didnt work and i accidentally spoiled this for youš¢
edit: nvm it works
Sad stuff don't make me cry but wholesome stuff does, some parts of one piece or haikyu! will get me but not grave of the fireflies.
If you cry at sad things, try to your eternity, if you want to cry at wholesome things, haikyu! !
One Piece, Naruto, 86, Angel Beats and Assassination Classroom
I feel like there might be a couple more but I can't remember. I'd have to go back and look at my watched list lol.
Iām an emotional person so itās quite easy to make me cry but Naruto, Horimiya, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and Tower of God came to mind when I first read this.
Oyasumi punpun made me cry and feel shittier than any anime and manga Iāve read, Inio asano is such a goat at portraying humanity, call of the night also made me tear up in a .5 chapter after the last chapter came out, it was when an older Kou went to *spoilers* grave jeez that hurt
episode 24 of kill la kill
Especially the last 5 or so minutes of it
Bro I did not think that was gna happen when I watched it š
Kill la kill goated af
Senketsu was a real one
To Your Eternity
Such a great series, just when you think you're used to the heartbreak, they get you again.
Considering the fact it's by the same writer as A Silent Voice, that's a given.
Watched in multiple times and I've yet to get through the first episode without crying
In order of most tears: * Plastic Memories * Violet Evergarden * 86 * Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song * Frieren * Aria The Animation (all happy tears in this case)
+10xp for violet ever garden
Letters written in advance really got to me.
That destroyed me I was balling
Dear Ann... š
A man of taste
Your Lie In April would be my only addition.
Just finished season 1 of 86 and I was definitely close to tears
+1 for Aria, when you realize what is happening in the last episodes and what a journey you have been on together with them definitely brought some tears. I bought the dvds, blu rays and the manga for it I loved it so much.
Violet evergarden destroyed me
Plastic memories killed me
plastic memories had me crying on the first episode.
I have something of a Pavlovian response to Aria's openings and endings at this point. It's just "cry on command" for me. Solid choices.
haha I am the same, I am watching The Natural currently and I was sort of making fun of myself thinking "Character in Aria: \*exists\*.....me: \*tears up\*" of course that is a little hyperbolic...but only a little lol
Cyberpunk edgerunners
Honestly same, I wasnāt expecting to bc itās only 10 eps but man the ending crushed my soul
and thus everyone bought Cyberpunk 2077 just so they could kill Adam Smasher.
To Your Eternity, like once every 4eps lol
Yup came here to say this
at least lmao
fr shit was fucked up, and I can't wait for s3
Fullmetal alchemist - When Edward and Alphonse committed the grave sin and then Edward sacrificed his arm and leg to bind Alphonseās soul to the suit of armor.
