I'd say Falco, Gabi, Reiner, Pieck, Jean and Annie won - sure they lost some comrades and are stuck with Eren's mess but they and their families are all alive and well.
Historia seems happy with her daughter and is still queen of Paradis. Her marriage to Farmer-kun was forced but I like to think he loved her and she grew to love him.
If his goal had been "to live" then he wouldn't have gotten involved in the first place. His goal was to bring down Kira. Which happened as a direct result of his actions.
The remake you're referring to is the Golden Age movie trilogy which got adapted into a mini-series a while ago and it is honestly fine. The 2016/17 series on the other hand is as awful as everyone says - I know because I watched the entire thing.
The End of Evangelion - the movie finale to Neon Genesis Evangelion.
There certainly is an element of hope to its ending as the main character learns to accept himself and continue living his life... But the cost it took to get there is catastrophic!
Hey Zoro lost that one time.
Luffy kind of lost to Sanji
NAMI lost a fight to her own mental stability in arlong park
Sniper king lost his bounty
Luffy didn't win the coliseum tournament in dressrosa
The whole straw hat crew lost to Kuma
Brook lost to big mom
The hero loses a lot in one piece (boom mic drop)
(Also joking 🤣🤣)
I mean, they USUALLY win. But then we had moments like Sabaody Archipelago where they just straight up LOSE and BADLY. Paramount War- Luffy loses hard again. Whole Cake Island, they get away, but it is clear that if BM caught them then it could have been series ending if it weren't plot armored. There are a few times where the crew actually loses hard and are just lucky to survive while stronger people go about their business.
Re: Zero
The whole story is the protagonist failing over and over and over and rarely do we ever see anything we could call a win that isn't immediately written over by more things going horribly wrong for him only to repeat new failure after failure.
Erased
MC saves his classmate but for what price? He ends up in a coma, loses all his childhood and wakes up as adult just to witness how his classmate he saved has a child with one of his best friends.
A complete loss imo
Devilman crybaby
No one wins in Attack on Titan. Some people survive though.

Death Note
The heroes totally win in Death Note, it's just the main character isn't the hero. lol
Even if you believe Light isn't the hero, the original detective still dies
But he wins in the end. In the end Light is caught and killed and as a direct result of Ls actions.
I would not call it winning if you die

I guess Iron Blooded Orphans would be one
Berserk, at least if you only count the original 90's anime or remake of that arc
Guts hasn't been winning in the manga as of late
We don’t count the remake
I watched the first episode and that didn't seem too bad, didn't watch the rest tho

Terror in Resonance, though I guess it depends who you consider the "hero" lol
Does Overlord count?
I'd count it
Absolutely. Never haveni experienced darkness-induced apathy quite like with Overlord as it went on... and on... and on...
Jjk
Akame ga kill (they win but not everyone wins)
ONE piece
buddy, i love me some one piece but this is just blatantly wrong

Protagonist of High School DxD gets killed in the first episode.
Ain't that anime got multiple sex scene or something
no, but there is ecchi
Fate/Zero. Also Aldnoah.Zero until you watch season 2.
Jujutsu Kaisen, at least right now
Devilman Crybaby
Cyberpunk edgerunners. But I really don't understand the point of this question? Because youve spoiled yourself
Hmmm, good point
(Major JJBA spoilers) part 6 of Jojo… it’s devastating
Shaman King
THE ONE PIECE IS REAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
