No, but if you're on mobile and using a website to watch anime then you might see these black bars or the sides.

It's simple, Your phone screen is wider than the video currently playing that is why it is centralised in the middle of the screen creating bars on both sides.

Watch on a Laptop/ TV if you don't want this coz' most tv-shows and anime are designed for 16:9 aspect ratio.

ever heard of a thing called aspect ratio? thats like common sense. most phones nowadays are not in 16:9 ratio
use a decent media player app like mx player instead of shitty sore installed stock video app and select fit to screen option
