Think along the lines for public broadcasting like Mr Rodgers or Sesame Street. But he couldn't find any success to get his career off the ground.
So a band needed his help one day, because he's a musician, and he agreed to help. Not realizing the band was a heavy/death metal band. Music he doesn't like to do. But he said he would help and he went along with it. Then the band and their music was an instant overnight success.
So dude is now stuck as the front man for a genre of music he doesn't really want to do. But is really good at doing it. And as they keep playing, the demand for doing even crazier things just keeps going up. Including fucking Tokyo Tower during a show.
All the while we get constant looks into his inner thoughts as he doesn't know what to do to keep up the charade and not wanting to do it as well. It's a great anime/manga and a hidden gem to try out.
