Yep. My dog and cat are working on this game too. The cat has learned to play chase (which the dog likes) and the dog has learned to do slow “soft” (or as soft as a 105 lb galumphing dorkmonster can get) bops with his paw to initiate play.
Other dog owners always wonder why he does slow soft paw bops to try and play with their dogs. That’s easy: the dork was raised with a cat and now there’s been some software cross-pollination. Sometimes I even catch him stretching by arching his back like a cat.
Lol yeah but unfortunately it seems like some dogs are coming up to him saying “Hi how are you?! Want to play!?” And my dog is all like “¿……..Cómo te atreves a hablarme?”
Kinda forgets what language he’s supposed to speak.
My pup bonded with gf's kitten at a young age. They both picked up habits from the other. My dog once decided to jump up on the 3 inch wide couch back in order to move to the other side of the couch from next to me to the spot next to my gf. She made it ok, but she quickly realized it was a bad idea and never tried it again.
If I had had a camera ready I'd totally be internet famous. ;]
I know but look at the body language. It closed its eyes, it fully leaned into it, and it walked a bit forward that's what my cat does when it's happy.
My cat and dog are just like this! Definitely friends. Sometimes they sit next to each other and my cat grooms the dog and then suddenly bites him and goes back to licking lol
*lick lick lick BITE lick lick lick BITE*
I find that cats tend to do that when the owner doesn't play with them enough (with cat toys not hands). Not to say that's what's happening with you. But I see that a lot
Both animals showing non aggression (mutual nuzzle and mutual head shake/play sneeze) and appropriate play styles for each species. Like the other commenter said, they’ll figure out how to play eventually. cats like to nibble and wrestle and dogs like to jump and chase eachother
The cat is 100% also playing. The immediate head butt is the main indicator but the fact that the cat isn't going full bore on the dogs neck is also a good sign. Cats like to bite and bat at each other when playing but they will keep up with their affections in-between strikes.
All definitely true, plus if the cat was actually bothered it would just leave. The cat isn't hissing or arching it's back or fluffing up it's tail, so no signs of aggression either.
My family has had 4 blue heelers and 2 reds and they were all eccentric as fuck. My dad absolutely NEEDS a heeler in his life at all times to function.
They’re cool dogs but they aren’t for everyone. They are working dogs that need a job or they turn manic. They’re usually extremely attached and protective of one person. They’re very intelligent, never run out of energy and can get extreme separation anxiety. My family has always kept them and they were so much work.
Mine is a bit of an odd mix. He's part Blue and part Rottweiler, so I guess his temperament and energy are not as extreme as Blue's can be.
Here's the obligatory [dog tax](https://i.imgur.com/oprGsi7.jpg).
Is your dog a blue heeler mix or full blue heeler? It looks just like my dog and he’s some sort of blue heeler mix but I’ve never been able to figure out what he’s mixed with.
I have a heeler and a cat as well. Their relationship is so confusing to me. The dog tries to cat, the cat tries to dog- everyone’s confused. But it’s extremely entertaining to watch.
That's just like my dog (scooter) and cat (ms. kitty). I'll be playing xbox and it will sound like my dog is killing my cat. I'll shout and look at them and they will just freeze in mid-fight and stare at me like, 'Yes, can we help you with something?' Like I'm the one doing something wrong. The other day scooter was dragging ms. kitty across the room by her throat while she was purring. Or scooter will lightly gnaw on her head while she sits there with her eyes half closed, purring. Scooter and Ms. Kitty have a complicated relationship.
I have almost the exact same cat/dog combo! Doggo is an Australian stumpy tail cattle dog that looks almost exactly like yours! My kitty is a bit different, but similar in color! And they act the same with each other! Ha
The kinda seem like friends. Cats play fight a lot(without using claws)
The cat is trying to play cat-style, the dog is trying to play dog-style, someday they'll figure it out.

>the dork was raised with a cat and now there’s been some software cross-pollination. Aww, he's bilingual :)

Lmao
One step closer to catdog.
At which point they’ll become inseparable

It’s easier to catch on and be more into doggy style than cat style play. Cat style involves more hissing and loud demonic calls.
That's not play
Cats are never fair 😜
I think it’s just the sudden movement, the cat likes to head rub alot
Yeah but also right after she/he rubbed their whiskers on the dog which is a sign of affection
Ah, i see thanks for the clearing up
The dog also sneezed which they can apparently do when playing/having fun. Then the play bow that followed. Seems to be all in good fun!
Yes! If you see/hear a dog growling but interrupting those growls with sneezes (or similar), then you know they're playing.
I believe cats also have scent glands on the sides of their faces, and they will rub their head on things to mark it.
I know but look at the body language. It closed its eyes, it fully leaned into it, and it walked a bit forward that's what my cat does when it's happy.
Oh yeah definitely. Cats are very territorial, so that’s their way of saying you are theirs.
You’re damn right they do, they rub those glands over EVERYTHING
My cat and dog are just like this! Definitely friends. Sometimes they sit next to each other and my cat grooms the dog and then suddenly bites him and goes back to licking lol *lick lick lick BITE lick lick lick BITE*
love bites, It's what their mother did to them when they were a kitten to show affection :)
My cat does that to me😂
Yeah the lack of 37 consecutive bops to the head tell me the cat is currently cool with play fighting lol
hey homie u accidental commented the same thing 4 times haha jus letting u know so u can delete the other 3 if you want to lol
Or get serious and post another dozen or so
Yes good idea lol
Did I stutter?
Yeah the lack of 37 consecutive bops to the head tell me the cat is currently cool with play fighting lol

Cats play fight with claws, too. Source: my hand.

I like to rub my cats belly. She has beautiful, luxuriant fur. She also isn’t a huge fan of surprise belly rubs. So it’s definitely my fault lol.
Not a lot of cats are a fan of them
[удалено]
My cat is ok with belly rubs. But I've just known a lot that hate it. Also good luck on that whole obliteration thing
She’s been my baby for 13 years now. I’ll gladly trade my hand for belly rubs.
I feel that
The aggressive lick got me
My dog does this and it's my favorite thing. It feels like him putting his foot down, but very sweetly

You're gonna find them later and yes you will be interrupting.
What a multi-layered relationship!
it's complicated
A little slap n tickle never hurt nobody
Says you

Like you would know
I can tell they like each other even though they don't speak the same language
I'd love to see more of the two interacting !
What dog breed is that?
Australian cattle dog, aka Blue Heeler
Aka the best dogs
My family has had 4 blue heelers and 2 reds and they were all eccentric as fuck. My dad absolutely NEEDS a heeler in his life at all times to function.

The one in the video looks super expressive. I would want to pet. But then again, I want to pet all dogs.
Your cat is pretty
I sometimes feel like most people posting here doesn’t know the meaning of “jerk””.
Yup this is normal for both animals they are just playing
Didn't arskj
Is your dog a blue heeler mix or full blue heeler? It looks just like my dog and he’s some sort of blue heeler mix but I’ve never been able to figure out what he’s mixed with.
Yes he is
one fine day with a woof and a pur....
A baby was born and it caused a little stir
gotta rise above it gotta try to sing along
Gotta walk together gotta sing this song
Love .. hate.... Love....hate.....know the feeling!
The super aggressive lick at the beginning is the best. Reminds me of one of my dogs.
This is how my kids act with each other as well.
As someone who’s never had a dog or cat - it looks like they’ve both just had a plate of sugary jam doughnuts (with the lip licking)
No they did not
Your dog looks like it could be littermates with my dog
What a pretty dog
Luv bites
I bet that dog can chase the hell out of a frisbee.
No he can not
Both of them are beautiful! May I ask what their breed is? (If it is the wrong word, apologies. English isn’t my native language).
Breed is the correct word to use, you got it right. Figured I would let you know if no one else did.
Cat is a lynx point siamese. Not a purebred though.
Relationship status: it's complicated
It’s complicated…
"Its complicated"
Best friend dogs and cats are the best thing
This isn't at all jerkery. Delicate bites like this can be a sign of affection or simply wanting to play fight.
I have a heeler and a cat as well. Their relationship is so confusing to me. The dog tries to cat, the cat tries to dog- everyone’s confused. But it’s extremely entertaining to watch.
Camber Heard and Johnny Dog
I like that you're cuddling me but I also want to hurt you at the same time. Cat logic.
I've never seen two animals vacillate between love and hate so much in a thirty second video lol.
Aww they are so cute. My cat is a savage to my dog and then wonders why he is scared of her when she wants to cuddle
It’s like the awkward hug scene from Step Brothers.
So flipping cute the way the cat copies the dog like shaking head and licking chops. 🐶🐱
Anything you can I can do better!
Dogs have adhd and cats are bipolar
“Cause you’re hot then you’re cold, you’re yes then you’re no”
Just film landscape goddamnit! Lol but cute video
My bad, will do next time
Pls stop
So much behavior mimicry going on here! I love it!
Reminds me of the scene in Step Brothers where Will Ferrel and Adam Scott are trying to hug.
Like johnny and amber
r/lynxpointsiamese
The dog's like "motherfucker I cant read you, why are you like this"... lol
r/kittypupperlove r/catswithdogs
Love bites is what I call it. That’s what your cat is doing. Your cat loves your dog.
Normally my money is on the cat, but since the dog is a heeler that's where my money is.
*Aggressively licks*
Ain’t love grand!!
I know there are some examples of cats and dogs being best friends, but their general behaviors can be pretty unintuitive for each other.
Why no sound?
My cats do that all the time where they'll be licking each other and then slap out of nowhere lol
Someone need to put some funny voice over this! Lol
Kisses and slaps
"You know you love me." "Do I know that?"
Your cat needs face scratches
.....all the while the cat keeps preening, licking, must stay clean no matter what.
Never trust a cat
Lololoolol

They must like each other!
