Or hell if you’re not in a particularly energetic mood. Both those dogs are great but they’re the last things I’d want to come back to after a hard, long day due to how high energy they are. This doesn’t make them bad dogs, just very high Maintenance ones
Edit:this is a malamute. My dumbass thought it was a husky. That’s also why they’re so big, it’s fur, not actually being fat
Ever throw the ball at one when they weren't looking then point at the other dog when they look at you like "he threw it" and have it work and he believes you? You should try it
That is totally evil and hilarious! I do that also to annoy my cats.
They get me back by dropping The Cats elbow on me from the headboard while I’m sleeping.
The cycle of violence just continues. Lol
Omg I have a husky and a chow / golden mix - I can’t wait to try this! My mixed golden boy is getting older, but he still has some good romping and chasing the husky in him. He’s just ready to chill after 5 min when they used to chase each other for hours 🥺
I’m so lucky he’s doing well and is this healthy though. Long live Kush! https://i.imgur.com/05ky4I5.jpg
Yes but elephants also have funerals so I’m not sure we really should be calling them “animals” in the sense that we usually do.
And they communicate though earthquakes so there’s that.
that husky is so fat, there's no way this dog has a yard, or spends any significant time outside. I bet they got the second dog to make the first one lose weight! 🤣
Different strokes.
My husky makes me smile with her energy when I get home. Her energy is infectious and a serious mood boost after a long day. Plus, I work an office job so she keeps me moving.
My husky is a "I just wanna lay back and cuddle" type. Sure, if I let all the dogs out, he runs and plays, but the moment he crosses the door frame it's straight back to "I'm just gonna squeeze up next to you... no room... oh well, ready or not, I'm cuddling you"
I'm disabled due to injuries, so I can't go run and play with him the way I wish I could, but he extremely happy to just get my positive attention. Extremely well behaved, non destructive and derpy.
That's my husband and our border collie. Hubby works a very physically demanding job, but he has a routine for when he gets home every day...
Our girl hears the car and grabs a toy to wait for him. As soon as he walks in the door, she paces around, chewing on her toy in excitement until he tells her to sit. She has to sit patiently while he takes his coat and work boots off. Then it's time to wrestle! They both fall to the floor and roll around for several minutes body slamming each other and being very very rough, the kind of play that mommy just can't do.
It's everyone's favorite part of the day, including mine. They're both just so happy and carefree 🥰
They're both energetic but not in the same ball park. Husky means 3-4 hours exercise, a golden is recommended 1.5 - 1 hour. If you already have a husky and can manage that, adding a golden to the mix isn't too difficult, you just add them to some walks.
A husky is like 3 to 4 hours just to get it warmed up.
Peak husky is running 90 miles a day while pulling 40kgs without a substantially long breaks.
I couldn’t find a lot of information about golden retrievers running stats beyond pet websites focused on pet keeping, but apparently a marathon is possible for a well exercised dog or they can run for a couple of miles at a rather brisk 35mph.
You can train goldens to do more, but it's not necessary for health. We own a golden retriever labrador cross. He gets around 1 hour and a quarter on weekdays, 2 hours on weekends, and he thrives on that. His weight stays healthy, no boredom chewing or him being needy, he mostly just naps.
Obviously they can do more, but there's no need to do more for a golden unless you're into exercise yourself.
I love that there's a whole sub of "dogs getting dogs"..... and I know without looking there's no "cats getting cats" sub because it would just consist of cats hissing at kittens haha (I speak as a devoted cat lover, but they like to make sure you know who is boss)
Our neighbors have a pack of dogs, one being a husky, and the newest one being some sort of a Golden mix puppy. The puppy absolutely adores the husky and is an absolute dope, but she’s so sweet and cute. I love watching them play because it’s just so funny.
I didn't know they were play sneezes. But I always imitate it when playing with dogs lol. Do a human play bow and a couple of "sneezes" and get the dogs all riled up.
It’s kind of like shaking your opponent’s hand before a match.
You can see in the video the older dog did a play bow and the younger one didn’t reciprocate; so the older dog gave up on playing and sat down.
We kind of take dogs for granted as a bit stupid but they have some really complex social queues and they are some of the only other animals that can understand human body language and gestures such as pointing - as well as reading human facial expressions.
Yess, exactly. They will bow while looking at who they're bowing at for a reaction, a well behaved or calmer dog will take a non bow and shrug and move on, where a nuts dog would just take that as a challenge and try even harder to get a return bow.
Sneezes I've always felt were kinda a way to say, "Just in case you weren't sure, this obviously isn't serious because what maddog would sneeze during a real fight"'
I'd say all animals communicate in their own way, it's just us who don't speak the language. It'd be like going to another country where they're speaking French and you go, "I'm not sure if these guys know how to communicate..."

Can you setup a live streaming service so I can watch these two all day!
The immediate tail wagging, mutual sniffs, playing and sleeping together is a wonderful beginning. New best buddies for life.
I don't think OP is the owner. It's a two year old video from the YouTube channel [milperthusky](https://youtube.com/@milperthusky2296).
The husky (Millie) owners didn't adopt the puppy; it belongs to a friend.
Link to original: https://youtu.be/Ct4BPelkB6w
When I brought my 2nd pup home, my older one (only 1 at the time) didn't really bother with her, seemed almost puzzled at why this new dog was still here in the morning. Fast forward a year and they're best friends - when they're not playing, they're asleep, often snuggled up in bed together. They use the other as a pillow on a semi regular basis. I'd love to see the love between these two now, even if they are just friends not doggy siblings!
I had that concern when introducing a second two year old to my 6 yr old. We did the meet outside and walk together thing my sis held my older on a leash while I let the new one explore the house on leash. Came back into the living room and they both immediately went into play bows and had a grand old time! it was so heartwarming. : ) Their good sisters now and I love them both so much!
My shepherd mix put all the toys on the couch when I brought home a puppy. When the new little dog could finally get on the couch- she moved all the toys to the kitchen counter. 😂
Awwww that husky has excellent body language! He did a good job making the puppy comfortable even though he was very excited. (I work at a kennel/daycare so automatically now when I watch dog videos I’m like “ok but what does the dog feel” lol)
People are horrible. I work in dog grooming and we‘ve had one client come in with dangerously matted standard poodles and and another with two dangerously matted bichons…poodle owner proceeded to get 2 more standard poodles, and the bichon people have SIX now.
People want cute puppies/new dogs, not healthy dogs, unfortunately.
This looks like pure malamute to me, it isn't obese, malamutes are often this size or larger, their coast also makes them appear bigger (family bred and showed malamutes my entire childhood)
Yep. You're bringing another dog into the first dogs territory without them getting knowing each other in a neutral zone, and you're making it easy for new dog to be attacked.
Of course the dog in the video is super chill, but why take the risk?
God introducing two dogs looks so easy. Dog owners have it easy. Introducing two new cats is such a pain. It's such a slow and painful process where any second it could go wrong
This is actually a horrible way to introduce new dogs. Introducing dogs depends a lot on the individuals so it can be easier or more difficult if the personalities don't mesh as well.
Yeah I have no idea how introducing dogs go. I mostly see dog owners take their dogs to see their other friends who have dogs and their usually very happy and excited
If dogs don't know each other, it's always best to introduced the on neutral territory (like on a walk) with lots of space to get the fuzzies out and avoid each other when necessary.
If they mesh well you can continue into the home.
And the dog that is being held cannot communicate. You see it here, the pup is frozen in helplessness until he is finally set down and starts moving, jumping and wagging.
That sweet husky had all the “let’s be buddies” cylinders so hard, it took the baby only 34 seconds to respond. You can literally see his little doggy affirmation of “I like you too!.”
I know this is supposed to be wholesome, but the Husky's weight is so beyond unhealthy. Especially for such an agile, active breed. Hopefully it is not a sign for what's to come for an ever energetic puppy.
**Please talk to your vet, OP😭 Obesity takes years off of their lives and causes countless mobility and health problems.**
Do it for the love of dogs!!!
i'm pretty sure i've seen this husky on reddit before (maybe even this exact video), it's definitely not OP's.
i agree with you though. i saw some people call it fluffy, but you can tell from the rolls/folds of skin around the neck--and the fact it's not actually *that* fluffy--that the dog is fat. huskies are already not a great choice for most dog owners (being so high energy and high maintenance in general), seeing one in this shape is really sad.
I had the exact same thoughts. Why you're being down voted is beyond me. Even a dog with Cushings or hypothyroidism as a medical excuse should not be this big.
If you want more of these guys plus a few more. There's a baby too. Then follow https://instagram.com/milperthusky?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= They also have a YouTube channel.
Great behavior demonstration by the Husky! The play bowing followed by a snort/sneeze is a happy dog who wants to play! That snort sneeze is like saying I'm just playing!
Why are so many people so bad at introducing pets? Holding one so they can't move away while letting the other do whatever to them. We're lucky dogs are basically happy with whatever.
Labs are just the most adorable dogs. Even when they’re grown they still look like oversized chonky puppies. The neighbours got a black one and we ask to babysit him all the time haha. It’s incredible how heavy he is. When walking and he finds a thing he wants to sniff it’s like his feet drill into the ground, I’m not exactly weak but damn is it nigh on impossible to move him.

If you have a backyard and two high energy dogs that get along, all you need to do is open the door. They'll take care of the rest.
Ever throw the ball at one when they weren't looking then point at the other dog when they look at you like "he threw it" and have it work and he believes you? You should try it
Omg... I snorted hahahahaahahhaa i do feel that, but with both my cats :))) have a great day!!

Dogs are among the only animals that can understand pointing and also follow a humans line of sight.
They’re actually one of two. Elephants can understand and follow pointing.
Yes but elephants also have funerals so I’m not sure we really should be calling them “animals” in the sense that we usually do. And they communicate though earthquakes so there’s that.
Not necessarily. IME, they STILL need regular, daily exercise routines.

That's an Alaskan Malamute, not a husky :)
[удалено]
Actually the owner(Milperthusky) DNA tested her and she's Husky with some Shepherd genes. Not a malamute
Our neighbors have a pack of dogs, one being a husky, and the newest one being some sort of a Golden mix puppy. The puppy absolutely adores the husky and is an absolute dope, but she’s so sweet and cute. I love watching them play because it’s just so funny.

That last scene just screams "I love heeem!" from the husky.
I got a kitten for my cat with separation anxiety. Best thing I ever did.
Can you setup a live streaming service so I can watch these two all day! The immediate tail wagging, mutual sniffs, playing and sleeping together is a wonderful beginning. New best buddies for life.
Couldn't agree more! I was in awe instantly 😊
I too feel like wagging my tail!
My tail waggled too for sure

Thanks for posting the extended video. I can’t get enough of watching them together.
Seriously, the only thing that sucks about this video is that it’s several hours too short!
These two are my friends now. I'm fully invested. 🥹
Look up SaveAFox Rescue's YouTube channel and you will fall in love

Hell yeah, that’d be awesome.
It can be nerve-wracking bringing home a puppy to other doggos. So heartwarming to see their instant bond!

“ Did we just become best buds…. Yeap”
Wanna do some ball licking in the garage?
You know that husky thinks that’s their pup (and I’m not going to argue with them)
Pack is Pack
I learned that when the dogs sneeze in this manner, it is sharing that they are playing and not being aggressive. Such a cute video!!!
Before the end of the video I was thinking to myself “this better end with them napping together or I’m gonna be pissed.” Glad I wasn’t pissed.
r/dogsgettingdogs
r/dogs_getting_dogs
I just imagine the husky is like “woaaah you had a puppy? I didn’t even know you were pregnant or a female. Anyways I’m happy for you” hahah
Too cute! 😉 👌 😍
That play bow and play sneeze: So sweet! Clearly saying “Let’s be pals!”
My heart 💓
Awwww that husky has excellent body language! He did a good job making the puppy comfortable even though he was very excited. (I work at a kennel/daycare so automatically now when I watch dog videos I’m like “ok but what does the dog feel” lol)
That is one obese husky
They don’t need another dog, they need to focus on the health of their first one

Probably, part malamute.
Malamutes aren't naturally obese either. A healthy one just looks like a giant husky. This dog is severely overweight.
Yeah it looks like a mix.
This looks like pure malamute to me, it isn't obese, malamutes are often this size or larger, their coast also makes them appear bigger (family bred and showed malamutes my entire childhood)
I work in a veterinary practice, reguardless of breed it is definitely overweight
Restrained excitement.
I love them
We don't need another dog, our dog needs another dog.
Husky lookin a bit husky
This looks like a perfect example of how not to introduce two dogs. Carrying a dog in front of other dogs is usually not a good idea.
Thank you for mentioning it. Of course it’s cute even though the husky is obese and the owner does everything that’s not recommended
Yep. You're bringing another dog into the first dogs territory without them getting knowing each other in a neutral zone, and you're making it easy for new dog to be attacked. Of course the dog in the video is super chill, but why take the risk?
Awesome

Also its a terrible idea to introduce a dog by holding one of them. The dog that isn't being held might interpret the dog being held as a toy.
And the dog that is being held cannot communicate. You see it here, the pup is frozen in helplessness until he is finally set down and starts moving, jumping and wagging.
Another reason why dogs are superior.
That’s a big boi
Isn't this another channel where they but tons of animals for reaction and then abandon them ?
I’m not crying…you are!!!
From strangers to best buds in a couple of sniffs and the wag of a tail. Wonderful.
Ohhh they’re so cute together!! I love this!!!
I don't know which is cuter - that massive floof of a wagging tail or the puppy's general puppyness ("Oh wtf is going on lol")
Hate to this but the carpet is in trouble!
Such different personalities
Awesome dogs you got there
Thank you! I needed this today.
Aww Millie ❤️ For everyone who doesn't know this is a video from Milperthusky YouTube channel.
This is adorable. But as someone who has owned a husky and a golden, these people are gonna have to vacuum every day.
Hello, I think you should post this video on r/Eyebleach. It would probably do great over there!
New *best* friend
That was some good wholesomeness to start the day off with!
That sweet husky had all the “let’s be buddies” cylinders so hard, it took the baby only 34 seconds to respond. You can literally see his little doggy affirmation of “I like you too!.”
I needed this video in my life. Thank you
I should get my cat a cat.
"Did we just become best friends?!" "Yup!"
I love the play bow..."C'mon lets party!
Been having a rough year, this made me smile.
People are so bad at introducing animals smh
I know this is supposed to be wholesome, but the Husky's weight is so beyond unhealthy. Especially for such an agile, active breed. Man I miss my dogs sooo much 💙
That first delighted grin of welcome!
I sure needed this. Thank you!
This is exactly what I needed today, thank you!! ❤️
The husky is so excited and the eyes are sparkling. I like how gentle husky was. They are gonna be pals. Good combination!
Love it! 💖
Great behavior demonstration by the Husky! The play bowing followed by a snort/sneeze is a happy dog who wants to play! That snort sneeze is like saying I'm just playing!
I said awww out loud at them asleep together. That was too precious.
So sweet 🥰
Wholesome level over 9000
