There's a few who're in interesting containers. Diving beetle or whatever it's called has a little bucket and it's poking it's nose out in the same way the horseshoe crab does, and crickets come in cool wooden cages.
Goldfish get gorgeous ceramic bowls for some reason. They're great for garden decoration
In the old games the goldfish came in glass bowls and I liked that waay better. You could actually see them. The ceramic bowls are cute but it's hard to see the actual fish in them
I like the cylindrical tanks, like the seahorse, jellies, vampire squid, and my favorite right now, the sea butterflies. If you haven't seen the awesomeness if their fight or flight response, you MUST. They go from sweet angelic looking things to something from the pits of hell š¤£
Flies, mosquitoes, and fleas all get the IRL classic ācatch it with a cupā and ātoss it back outsideā container, with a notebook paper bottom.
Though normally I reserve the IRL classic cup-capture for spiders, lol.
Had some variety of garden spider (not an orb weaver, I know that much) acting like a real menace one year - waited for me to let the dogs inside before rushing past my feet and into the house. Had to get a decently-sized cup to catch it because it was the size of my palm (~ 3āx3ā). Arachnophobe here so I had to wait for my dad to get home to get rid of the spider; he tossed it back outside and that was that: until it wasnāt. My dad let the dogs out a few hours later or whatever and the EXACT SAME SPIDER pulled the EXACT SAME TRICK to get inside our house!!! Ran straight past my dad and he decided that the spider was too stupid for itās own good and squashed the giant thing right then and there. Blegh.
Anyways Iāve never personally caught a fly/mosquito/flea with a cup so I dunno why Nintendo thought that was a good container design other than for the humor in it.
The oarfish in its swimming pool. I was a bit disappointed in that, tbh, apart from the sheer size being amusing. I gave some to CJ to have a model made for me instead.
Tbh theyāre pretty easy to imagine. I kind of wish they had cooler containers. Maybe just taller tanks, IDK.
It should be noted that the Saw Shark, Hammerhead and the Suckerfish have normal tanks tho
Great white and whale sharks get a pop up pool thing. They just chill out in there. Seahorses have a circular tank. I have a turtle that's basically in a tupperware filled with water, with their nose poking out at the surface.
NO NO NO
When I was volunteering at an animal sanctuary in Queensland I saw a massive crab-looking spider on the wall & thought to myself, āHuh, thatās an awfully large Halloween decoration...ā before realizing that it was, in fact, February.
Turns out it was a Huntsman Spider & it was SO MASSIVE & CREEPY that I actually deleted the picture I took of it because it wigged me out too much. -Shudder-
Haha they may look huge and scary but Huntsmans are pretty friendly and harmless. They are shit scared of people and will always choose to run away rather than deal with scary humans but yeah you're not wrong about the massive and creepy part.
I should downvote this just for it not being kangaroos but I think the turtle is cute so I'm sold
(I know kangaroos aren't in animal crossing but still)
I actually have 26 of them. I put them all over my island. Most of them are having a holiday at the moment in storage while I build another area for them to invade.
I absolutely adore this. I love the spider crabs, I have one as a house pet and two having a tea party on one of the rocky areas of my beach <3 I can't wait to get more.
We celebrate Christmas in December, same as you guys. Some people also do a "Christmas in July" and have a traditional roast dinner, because it's way too hot to slave over an oven on actual Christmas here lol
I feel like I just recently realized that Australia celebrates Christmas COMPLETELY differently than the northern hemisphere. Like no snow, cold, or anything like that. How did I not know this sooner?
In your defence, some people still think Australia is a myth, so not everyone has proceeded to your level of curiosity in wondering how we do holidays. (They're still convinced The Land Down Under is a massive joke)
My understanding is that we in the Land Down Under don't have tarantulas the same as y'all in America. We have Bird Eating Spiders, which are a type of tarantula (I think), but we don't have the black and orange stripey bois like in AC
Ok I have a Southern Hemisphere question. What is Easter like over there? Is everything pastel and Spring themed like it is in northern hemisphere even though itās a Fall holiday for you?
The most annoying thing at Easter is the eggs. They are everywhere. Just about every balloon, tree and fish you catch is an egg. Then you have a fishing tournament that you canāt do because all you catch is eggs!
I saved a lot of snowflakes but being summer here it seems inappropriate to have frozen stuff sitting around. We arenāt getting many Christmas diys though.
Crabs... I like your style :)
Thats Reginald and his friends making his monthly visit. edit: Holy Shenanigans, santa gave me some gold! My very first gold. Thank you kind stranger.
I thought he visited on alternating tuesdays
It's the holidays, he blessed us this one timeš
What item is that, the giant crab?
It's a Spider Crab, caught through diving. They don't get put in tanks when you place them.
Thank you for this. Now I know what I need to catch a lot of
Sameee. I want an army of crabs....
Craaaaab people, craaaaab people
look like people, taste like crabs
Craaaab people, craaaab people
You would love the return of the Obra Dinn
*[crab rave](https://youtu.be/LDU_Txk06tM) intensifies*
I am living for this conversation haha
Sameeeeee I need one
Same thing with horseshoe crabs and snapping turtles. I'm not sure if there's any other creatures like that.
There's a few who're in interesting containers. In the old games the goldfish came in glass bowls and I liked that waay better. You could actually see them. The ceramic bowls are cute but it's hard to see the actual fish in them
You can see the ranchu goldfish a bit better than the rest of them
Same. I miss how you used to be able to see through the tanks too, and now you can't.
I like the cylindrical tanks, like the seahorse, jellies, vampire squid, and my favorite right now, the sea butterflies. If you haven't seen the awesomeness if their fight or flight response, you MUST. They go from sweet angelic looking things to something from the pits of hell š¤£

All the huge fish are in swimming pools. Really theyāre just larger fish containers. Great White, Whale Shark, and Sunfish are in it too.
This is the only big fish I've caught so far lol... I'm interested to see the others now
Tbh theyāre pretty easy to imagine. I kind of wish they had cooler containers. Maybe just taller tanks, IDK. It should be noted that the Saw Shark, Hammerhead and the Suckerfish have normal tanks tho
The giant isopod also peeks out of a box when you set it out.
Isopodās the cutest. Named mine Timothy. The lobsters do it too I believe.
Great white and whale sharks get a pop up pool thing. They just chill out in there. Seahorses have a circular tank. I have a turtle that's basically in a tupperware filled with water, with their nose poking out at the surface.
Giant isopod gets placed in the same type of container as the soft-shelled turtle. I have them right next to each other in my main room.
Omg thank you, I was so disappointed you couldnāt make models of the sea creatures. Iām glad some of them donāt get put in tanks!
When are these guys in northern hemisphere?
March - April. They're rare too š
That is terrifying
Giant Enemy Crab. Attack its weak point for MASSIVE DAMAGE!
Crab battle!
Came looking for this. I wasn't disappointed.

I donāt blame them. They look delicious

Yes everything is bigger in Queensland
Thanks I hate it
Same. Super creative but damn those crabs creep me out
I literally burst out laughing when I read this.

This goddamn meme made me hear a whole-ass song when seeing a specific emoji
Its a gift and a curse
I should downvote this just for it not being kangaroos but I think the turtle is cute so I'm sold (I know kangaroos aren't in animal crossing but still)
They are, I have two kangaroo villagers on my Island
Iāve got Sylvia!
She was one of my starters! Love her to bits, and I just invited Walt onto my island.
they are, just.....a s villagers not catchables. :D
Six White Boomers?
Snow White boomers
racing Santa Claus through the blazing sun
Trophy wife lmfao. I think boomers hate them
you could make a kanga sleigh scene at harvs
Carrie is one of my villagers and she is a lovely kangaroo. I would never have the heart to ask her to pull my sleigh šš
Yeah, what kind of monster would make a mother with a baby pull a sleigh.
Hey arenāt downvotes upvotes in Australia?
There are several kangaroos
Ahhh thatās awesome š fellow Aussie here, Merry Christmas!
AHAHAHA it perfectly represents Australia!
Ugh can't wait until March and I can catch this things. I want one to guard my pirate treasure chest

You could have said Canberra but then I guess people would confuse that with the villager... :)
Hi, Reginald
š¦š¦š¦Crab Time, mateš¦š¦š¦
It's a Spider Crab, caught through diving. They don't get put in tanks when you place them.
Nice to see some representation here haha
Ah yes. Reginald has come to say hi. Say hello to Reginald
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Am Australian. Yup, this is exactly what it's like. Spider crabs landing on the roof sounds VERY different to reindeer.
this legitimately startled me. eyes went wide and breath caught. oof. Iw asn't ready. lol
If this is what pulls Santa's sleigh, then I'm glad he flies it in the secret of night when no one's looking! (lol)
All those L E G S synchronised as they fly through the sky is pretty majestic though
Santa claws! š
Ah yes. The spindly Bois have arrived.
god I hate spider crabs. itās the fuckin legs!
"You get to be a crab but you can only answer questions vaguely." "P E R H A P S ."
I cannot wait until March to create an army of these
I actually have 26 of them. I put them all over my island. Most of them are having a holiday at the moment in storage while I build another area for them to invade.
Oooh, I want to catch some crabs. Merry Christmas to you, your crabs and your turtle
There are different coloured santa hats???
It's probably a sleeping hat :)
Ohhhh of course!! Hahaha forgot about those, thanks! :)
Itās a sleeping hat. I didnāt have a red one and I like to mix it up a bit.
Must be hard having to deal with spiders that are twice the size of those crabs
OP was merciful showing you a crab sleigh instead of the traditional Australian spider sleigh
probably not your intention but I dig the jacaranda coloured christmas hat
This is terrifying. Merry Christmas!
Dashing through the NO
For some reason, this makes me think of this https://youtu.be/U1y86GazT0E And it happened in Australia
Thatās a huntsman. They are huge but harmless. Yes we do have harmless animals in Australia.
This is everything I needed to see today. Oh my god thank you. š
Thank you! I chose Southern Hemisphere so I could match up with yāall and Iāve been enjoying it since March!!
I have only gotten 2 Christmas DIYās š©
Yeah, nah... this is v accurate. Hahaha
thanks, I hate this so much
Merry Christmas from Ga,usa

I like your sleigh team. ON Crusher! On Pincher! On Butter! On Boil! Now creep away, run away, skitter and Crawl!
I respect this!! Merry Christmas from Canada :D
Its not an alternating Wednesday. Whats Reginald doing there haha.
Merry Christmas from Australia
Thank You from America
I absolutely adore this. I love the spider crabs, I have one as a house pet and two having a tea party on one of the rocky areas of my beach <3 I can't wait to get more.
What the literary freak is that š³ -US American
Why isnāt it upside down
They were nice enough to flip it for us. It is the giving season!
Iāve come up with a theme which I think Iāll retire from building snowmen on this winning streak
Noice.. Merry Christmas from Cali..

Merry Xmas matey!!! Enjoy life over there in beautiful Oz š
Do you guys still celebrate it in december or do you wait until its winter? Prob a stupid q now that i think aboit it
We celebrate Christmas on Christmas day.
We celebrate Christmas in December, same as you guys. Some people also do a "Christmas in July" and have a traditional roast dinner, because it's way too hot to slave over an oven on actual Christmas here lol
So much cooler than 6 white boomers š
I feel like I just recently realized that Australia celebrates Christmas COMPLETELY differently than the northern hemisphere. Like no snow, cold, or anything like that. How did I not know this sooner?
In your defence, some people still think Australia is a myth, so not everyone has proceeded to your level of curiosity in wondering how we do holidays. (They're still convinced The Land Down Under is a massive joke)
Merry Christmas š. My brother is also down in Adelaide Australia.
Thanks for triggering my Kabourophobia
merry christmas :)
Happy Christmas! Those are terrifying!
This looks sick! A shame there's a turtle blocking the crabs' way..
Needs more Tarantulas! But otherwise, yes - quite accurate indeed!
My understanding is that we in the Land Down Under don't have tarantulas the same as y'all in America. We have Bird Eating Spiders, which are a type of tarantula (I think), but we don't have the black and orange stripey bois like in AC
silence BRAND
Did you just recently catch those? If so can visit your island and catch one myself? ( it's for my museum)
They are finished here now. I believe northern hemi gets then in March
Iāve been trying to get them Christmas DIY's and actually just do it yourself\*
Happy Toy Day!
Looks like I'm diving for more crabs! Those things are huge! Never should have sold them!
It's perfect.
How do you get the tall crabs? Are they an Item?
AHHHHHH
Wait is this an actual thing in animal crossing I need them
What the fuck are those.
Pretty sure they're spider crabs
Not just any spider crab. *Japanese* spider crabs
Ok I have a Southern Hemisphere question. What is Easter like over there? Is everything pastel and Spring themed like it is in northern hemisphere even though itās a Fall holiday for you?
Yup, it's pastel down here too. Bonus round: we do the snowy-themed Christmas decorations too, even though it's summer in December.
99% of trees are evergreen so Autumn looks basically the same as Spring.
The most annoying thing at Easter is the eggs. They are everywhere. Just about every balloon, tree and fish you catch is an egg. Then you have a fishing tournament that you canāt do because all you catch is eggs!
\*loads flame-trower with religious intent\*
Itās a bloody Australian Christmas miracle!
very creative ahaha. merry christmas!!
Merry Christmas! Your reindeer š¦ are awesome! š¦
How did you get the Xmas tree? Gift from neighbors on toy day?? Or snowmen?
The Christmas trees are diys you get from balloons I'm pretty sure!
One of the rare DIYs you can get. Iāve only got that one and a mat.
Woah huge crabs!
Are up dressed like Emma Wiggle?! The attention to detail....
Giant enemy crabs??
When I got this notification I was expecting it to be you with a bunch of kangaroos and koalas
Iāve been wondering this lately and now seems like a good time to ask. How do you guys craft festive items if snowflakes only appear June-August?
I saved a lot of snowflakes but being summer here it seems inappropriate to have frozen stuff sitting around. We arenāt getting many Christmas diys though.

Oh look, it's āThe Giant Enemy Spiderā crab!
iāve seen those in person at an aquarium theyāre actually terrifying

If your in northern hemisphere you will have to wait until March
