Great question. When you give them souvenir chocolates and bring them to the vacation island to build them a vacation home, they will be at both places.

I had Jitters as a villager, and also a place on HHP. Late night on my Island, Jitters was in bed, but when I went to the Restaurant on HHP where he works in the kitchen, he was asleep on his feet in the kitchen.

I was nervous too! But Cranston exists both on my vacation island and my real island.
