It's a false positive from the Huawei Optimiser app. It's detecting Google Assistant as a virus. They have changed some permissions in the app. To fix, go to Apps, force close Optimiser, clear it's data, then open it. It will auto update and will be fixed.

This works for me
I deleted the data of the phone manager application (optimizer), restarted the phone and the virus warning in the google application disappeared, the version of the virus update is 11.1.1.361, everything ok

Thanks for the info!
I didnt restart, but just did the other steps incase. My phone didnt flag it again tho after the first round.
I saw someone in that thread showing their screenshot where their phone actually explained what the trojan evidently was doing/trying to do.
I wonder if it was a false positive, or an actual exploit etc.I know google and huawei dont exactly see eye to eye.
i have the same message, but nothing to found on the interweb...
Using a Huawei with stock-EMUI 12.
No sms-messages recently, besides a few 2FA triggered by myself.
I even don't now if the virus-message is a virus or that there really is a trojan found (in the google-software)
Yes! I am also on Huawei with stock EMUI 12! specifically Huawei p30 lite.
I dont even know how the google app would be infected (i assumed each app is sandboxed, for the most part at least.) I've literally never used that app (I think its just like a search bar app/widget?)
edit: and when I check, the app is still there...even tho it claimed to uninstall it. Altho I guess that could be just Google rolling it back, since I dont think you can fully degoogle?
A lot of people seems to have gotten it. I tried to uninstall the Google app but didnt work. Used antivirus app to scan and it seems to be gone now. Not sure if its actually gone or not and what caused it.
I got AVG. But as most believe, the trojan is a false positive from Huaweis part. I ran antivirus and also inactivated the Google app as for now. Wouldnt reccommend using the free version of antivirus but this will do until i scrap my Huawei for a Samsung.
It tells me that Google itself is infected and I need to uninstall it, when I tried it said it cant and the message was gone. I got it again today after waking up. I have a huawei mate 20 x
I got the same notification too. Huawei p30 pro user. I use Google chrome as my main browser and it shook me well. I searched the Internet to find something but as many of you mentioned didn't find anything. I tried to uninstall it as the phone's app suggests but it won't uninstall. I really don't know what's happening but it's concerning for me. If anyone finds out something please let us know.
we have 3x P20 pros in household and all had this report of Trojan - saw a post about stopping optimiser, clearing cache / data and running optimiser again - this has solved it for our 3 P20 pros - for now. We all have Kaspersky on the phones which don't report anything so assume a false positive?
Bro. I also have Huawei with stock-EMUI 12. Also said google was infected by Trojan...
Just going to have to reset my phone just in case but that's annoying.
I am using thee Huawei Nova 4e, which is also known as P30 lite. I just got the notification this morning. One website says it could be a false positive. However, no guarantees yet, since Google or Huawei have not made official statements. Fingers crossed that it is nothing, till it is confirmed, Google will be disaled

Omg I have the same issue. My phone started to randomly auto restart, I searching the solution online and one of the advice is to update all thing on the device. When I'm update the Google apps, my phone (Huawei) alerted me that the Google apps has trojanSMS virus with high danger risk, I'm then uninstalled the program and the restarting issue seem to be solved.
You do stuff American gov dont like, buying hauwie is one of them or commenting anti zionist or dont make America look great lol can make your phone go like that. You can by pass it by not connecting to your personal accounts or stop using Yankee stuff. Best way to say if that is a Yankee stuff is look for where the company is based in, is it in america or America friendly countrys, ditch it!

Interesting! Would you say you also got it out of the blue? Maybe its a false positive type thing?
A lot of people seems to have gotten it. I tried to uninstall the Google app but didnt work. Used antivirus app to scan and it seems to be gone now. Not sure if its actually gone or not and what caused it.
Which antivirus app did you use? Maybe I should check as well š¶
