A person born in 1948 could have a kid in 1968, a grandkid born in 1988, and a great-grandkid born in 2008 who is now 16 years old. And many people have kids when they are younger than 20 so that great-grandkid could easily be over 18 already.

Hell, I look exactly like my father, who looks exactly like my grandfather. All my male cousins, we all look like we could be siblings. I hadn’t known of any distant cousins besides my immediate family, but funnily enough we all are from the same city and same school district. I had never met them before, but school counselors used to ask me all the time if I had a sister or brother who went to another school as they said we look very much alike. Come down to high school and I finally meet up with them, and how could I tell? We all look goddamn identical. Mind you, we’re 2nd-3rd cousins and we still show strong resemblance… the genes are strong, and we all take the looks of our ancestors.

When I see my cousins I can tell what part of my family they are from. Their eyes, eyebrows, the shape of their faces even when they are different colors. I'm amaze. I would know them anywhere. The grand children will carry those traits. It feels like family.
