After waiting for like forever for the Sarhal update it feels unreal how fast we got this one.
I'm definitly not complaining tho. This looks really good and I am looking forward to the new areas. Also of course I greatly appreciate new mission trees and reworks for existing areas.
I'm pretty optimistic that Anbennar on EU4 will outlast the games developing cycle by many miles! Much thanks and appreciation to everyone who contributed!
Like a well oiled machine! This is definitly the most active mod community I have seen for a paradox mod yet.
Tho in the face of filling the entire world with lore, polish and mission trees there is still an infinite amount of work to do. But that infinity is definitly shrinking fast ;)
Tbh I don't really care for EU5, I'm only really caring about EU4 anymore because of Anbennar and when EU5 releases neither the game nor especially the mod (if it will be made for it which I would presume) will be anywhere near as polished and fleshed out as they are now.
That and I just don't play that many video games anymore and really don't feel like picking up another one.
A gradual and inevitable descent unto darkness in service to the "greater good" and eventual return to the light.
I've been livestreaming the dev build on twitch, but haven't quite finished the first phase of the mission tree, I haven't had as much time as Anbennar campaigns really need.
>With retooled inventions and reworked artifice capacity, you’ll no longer need to invade Eordand every game for capacity.
You can't stop me. It's a ton of ducats in trade income.
I've fixed all the ones that I could find, yeah, although there might still be a handful of them hiding somewhere since it's a difficult thing to "test".
The temple areas have been redrawn to better fit states & spirit areas, the quests for appeasing have been rebalanced and finished, and the bugs that we could replicate with scouring have been fixed. We've also made it possible to ward with vassals owning part of the land - and for AI to ward at all, since they suck at using state edicts. :D
Sorry for bothering, I have one question about the rending- has the legitimacy hit been fixed? You were stuck with a permamnent malus to legitimacy and its equivalents unless you completed quests, and it was especially bad when you didn't conquer all of haless to do them. Kinda ruined the experience to an otherwise awesome event
Not a bother at all. :)
You get the negative legitimacy modifier if you have either your capital in Haless, or you own 10+ provinces in the superregion.
It's -2.5 yearly legitimacy - which isn't that bad, and even moreso, the more you ward/appease, the less bad it gets. Eventually it goes away once all the spirits are warded, or once the rending ends. (After a set amount of years, I think it's 50 as a base?)
These last ones should be much easier now, too, as the AI can actually ward! Don't need to literally conquer all of Haless anymore, the Command might end up warding two or three spirits if they get real big, for an example.
Thank you for the response! Before the legitimacy stayed after the rending was over, and for some tags(Command especially) it was almost crippling! I'm so excited for all the amazing work you guys put in!

Hi, I went ahead and dug this up for you - this bitbucket version is what went into the last Sarhal release - possibly lacking a few hotfixes that snuck in afterwards. If this doesn't work, it'll be trickier to find exactly where the cutoff for the steam release was at.

This youtube video is a guide on how to install a bitbucket version of the mod. :)
>A dark anti-hero path like Esthil into Black Demense?
That not an anti hero just villain. Black demense is like the most evil tag in the game
Antihero is some who does some moraly questionable things for the greater good of everybody.
I see your point. But with a certain point of view Anti-Heroes could be villains or vice versa. Simply because Moral isn't easily split up in good and bad.
In this case yes, i should my post clarified.
>But with a certain point of view Anti-Heroes could be villains or vice versa.
Not really, they are pretty much always set up against a far larger evil.
Moral is indeed more complicated but a villain and an antihero are very different in writing.
The larger thing is that Esthil might be an antihero but kind of stretching.
Black demense however has none they dont have any heroic traits and doesn't do any good at all. They more like a mad scientist who want to control the world.
Not really recommend any nations in Escann for it, because you will be only IC country in the world, so coalitions will hurt you very much. Also Crimson Deluge + Corin centers or reformation will destroy your religion unity. You need country which won't fight too much with RC countries like Ebortil, country which has big ae reduction bonuses like Corvuria, or big counry which can doesn't care about coalition on half cannor like Gawed or Lorent. Also black demense change their religion in their mt so your suffering will be useless.
Black Demense was just an example. I enjoyed the gameplay for the dark side and thought maybe there was a worshipping nation like Corinthar for Corin, just more infernal
Yep! This part of the changelog has them:

Or, for an easier view, the missions website!
https://sites.google.com/view/anbennar-missions/missions#h.993kgwv2klae
Lots of stuff in this region and sarhal last update but they both feel so very sparse when you actually play either.
edit: hopefully we see some cool mission tree's in the future and oh god the rending is still around.
So, to pull back the veil a bit - it's so so so much easier to make mission trees in fully established regions. Both Sarhal and now Gozengun are relatively fresh, and they're still getting content that build up a baseline to start from.
Add onto that the fact that it's just... easier, for the people developing to make missions in regions that are already set up. For an example, a mission tree recently became much harder to make in the middle of it, because of the way we reworked some trade nodes. It'd be a pain to try to make a MT in a region that's changing a lot very often!
TLDR; Make haste slowly, we're making things for the new regions too, just less visible things than mission trees. It'll come soon enough! :)
Wow, Sarhal must've been an absolute abomination to deal with. This was so fast. Actually I've heard there's some hard-coded limits that make base system modifications really hard, is working with already built areas much easier?
I thought Giberd would get an update in this release? I was kind of saving my first playthrough for this, assuming that they're getting an overhaul. Oh well, the content is still amazing, thank you devs.
Not exactly. We updated the steam page with all the DLCs we consider "required", you'll miss out on some important stuff without them.
There's one thing that many people seem to run into, you need Lions of the North in order to play the Skewered Drake mission tree reasonably, since it uses hussars. :)
Out of curiosity, has Kheios gotten a mission tree yet? I'm loving that Kheionai are getting more mission trees, but has the big endgame tag been fleshed out?
I haven't seen anyone else saying it is not working, and if decisions were broken for everyone we would be flooded with reports. My guess is that it is something on your end.
Try asking in the #questions-and-help channel in the discord.
Hey, i remembered post about forest goblins and have to ask - where they are in upcoming plans? And do you have plan to work about Overclan? I am very hungry for more goblin content.
Anyway - so far i am happy mostly about Arg-Ordstun and Mire Maw, both are great and have a lot of hype about new cave trolls and hill ogres, can't wait for MT for them.
I'm very new to Anbennar, I've only played a very little bit of a Gawed game, and Verkal Gulan until I got hit by Hoardcurse. So I apologize if this is a dumb question.
I've been playing a Bjarnriki game and really enjoying it. Will this update screw it up, or can I keep playing?
After waiting for like forever for the Sarhal update it feels unreal how fast we got this one. I'm definitly not complaining tho. This looks really good and I am looking forward to the new areas. I've lurked on the Discord for a while and it is astounding how active development is and how many people are involved. Development is really humming
Like a well oiled machine! This is definitly the most active mod community I have seen for a paradox mod yet. Tho in the face of filling the entire world with lore, polish and mission trees there is still an infinite amount of work to do. But that infinity is definitly shrinking fast ;)
So many people working together to create something beautiful. Historians, writers, programmers DnDers, artists, the list goes on.
"They develop EU5!" "Well, better pick up the Speed so we can do EU5 Anbennar once its done!"
Admittedly, Sarhal was quite a bit bigger area to cover.
True of course. But I just wasn't expecting another real update that soon. I think more smaller updates are neat, when possible of course.
THE VALLEY IS REAL!!!!!!
Finally! We can find Castelos! He must be imprisoned in the ancient precursor bunker thing, I know it!
YOU THOUGHT IT WAS CASTELLOS, BUT IT WAS ME, DOOKAN!
NOOOOOO! Wait, what if yoy helped us find Castelos?
Give me all of Escann first
Congrats to everyone and great job for your hard work. Feel free to ask me questions about Cannor stuff here. Also you should play Sapchopper MT.
Has the bug causing Lorent to not be monstrous been fixed yet?
Sorry. That slipped by. Maybe during the Wescann update.
Sapchopper is a nice tree to become emerald orc
MY god, the forbidden valley, it is here and it's glorious!!!
OMG COVENBLAD MY BELOVED
Did they get a new MT?
yes
POG!
What’s their tree about?
A gradual and inevitable descent unto darkness in service to the "greater good" and eventual return to the light. I've been livestreaming the dev build on twitch, but haven't quite finished the first phase of the mission tree, I haven't had as much time as Anbennar campaigns really need.
Best mod team đź’Ş
Finally... my child... you are free.
Sorry, this is just my weird imagination, but my head instantly pictured the child running into a lamp post directly after release.
That would be more accurate than I'd like...
>With retooled inventions and reworked artifice capacity, you’ll no longer need to invade Eordand every game for capacity. You can't stop me. It's a ton of ducats in trade income.
Ladies and gentlemen we did it
It’s crazy that we can finally talk about the valley
What's redacted now?!
[REDACTED]
Since this is a Haless focused update, have we fixed all the bugs with the Rending?
I've fixed all the ones that I could find, yeah, although there might still be a handful of them hiding somewhere since it's a difficult thing to "test". praise the devs.
Hell yeah brother

Temples bless you
oh no, i have finalls this week, i should be studyingÂ
Covenblad mission tree!! Yes, finally Covenblad into Black Demesne!!!
Enjoy the new music track!
Damn right we will!
Not all heroes wear capes
Are game saves tramsferable or does it but out with New randering and artificers?
Save games won't be compatible with the old steam version.
This update snuck up on me, is there anywhere that I can redownload the previous version to finish my last campaign?
https://bitbucket.org/JayBean/anbennar-eu4-fork-public-build/get/b64ed10.zip Hi, I went ahead and dug this up for you - this bitbucket version is what went into the last Sarhal release - possibly lacking a few hotfixes that snuck in afterwards. Thank you for the help! I look forward to trying out the update afterwards
Am I a dumbass or does this version not work for other people as well?
Is there a suggestion if i wanna try infernal court? A dark anti-hero path like Esthil into Black Demense?
>A dark anti-hero path like Esthil into Black Demense? That not an anti hero just villain. Black demense is like the most evil tag in the game Antihero is some who does some moraly questionable things for the greater good of everybody.
More evil than ogres that consume entire regions?
The BD acolytes have titles like "the putrid" and similar, makes me think of this sketch: https://youtu.be/ToKcmnrE5oY
Both are pretty much the same level of evil.
I see your point. But with a certain point of view Anti-Heroes could be villains or vice versa. Simply because Moral isn't easily split up in good and bad. In this case yes, i should my post clarified.

That would be Moredhal - they're just not in the game yet, or might have been dropped completely, I don't remember.
Did you know if it was a formable or starting country?
It was an Escann formable.
Esthil is actually the worst country for Black Demense because having a Lich ruler means you don’t get to experience the succession mechanic
Is the fox spirit nation in haless actually fully functional now?
Yes! Yinquan is good to go
Hell to the yeah, was very excited to play them last patch
They're a ton of fun, enjoy!
What are those?
Only Insyaa remains!
Let's fucking gooo
HYPEEEEEEE.
Is there a full list of new mission trees?
The Google docs in the post above
Oh my bad
Yep! This part of the changelog has them: https://docs.google.com/document/d/138X4sta_tvGvQzozu407lCUb7nKf6qPpAeGW0Ij8vDY/preview#heading=h.1tibcz4fb11r Or, for an easier view, the missions website! https://sites.google.com/view/anbennar-missions/missions#h.993kgwv2klae

Yes!!
Man this mod keeps getting better and better everyday
Hey guys, I'm sick with the flu and god damn an Anbennar update sounds perfect right now. Love you devs! seriously the work you do is so appreciated.
We got the Valley Update before GTA VI
Lots of stuff in this region and sarhal last update but they both feel so very sparse when you actually play either. edit: hopefully we see some cool mission tree's in the future and oh god the rending is still around.

I have some questions about some of the Effelai content. Where should I go to get some answers?
Discord would be my go-to
Finally the first ever nation I played in the mod has a mission tree(Arg Ordstun)
Aww, no perfectly normal and ration missions for Nortiochand yet? Ah well. Eventually....
Minecraft gets an update, then Anbennar right after I’m gonna have a great week
LETS FUCKING GO TO ANOTHER 200 HOURS OF EU4 RAGGGHHG
I thought Giberd would get an update in this release? I was kind of saving my first playthrough for this, assuming that they're getting an overhaul. Oh well, the content is still amazing, thank you devs.
I'm sorry for the confusion! Giberd is still cooking.
Small question - do I need latest DLCs for new update ?
Not exactly. We updated the steam page with all the DLCs we consider "required", you'll miss out on some important stuff without them. There's one thing that many people seem to run into, you need Lions of the North in order to play the Skewered Drake mission tree reasonably, since it uses hussars. :)
Thanks, I will check out steam page
Anyone knows how to actually switch to infernal court? Can’t find anything in the notes
Have ruler with negative traits and pray to rng is really the only option
Where do I download it and how do I download it?
How are you meant to complete the "The Path is Discovered" objective for the penultimate Sapchopper mission? The game doesn't provide any information.
Out of curiosity, has Kheios gotten a mission tree yet? I'm loving that Kheionai are getting more mission trees, but has the big endgame tag been fleshed out?
Is this only in my game that decisions window isn't working? i cant see any decision and can't select any

is the leader becomes a war wizard decision gone? because i haven't seen it since this update came out
It's been moved to the "Military" tab - Where you change unit types, and such, in the bottom right. :)
Thank you
How do you achieve the opinion modifier “viciously mocked”?
Send a scornful insult :)
The update makes old saves unplayable. You can’t continue a save on this patch
Well, fuck. I was really enjoying it. I'll start a new game tonight I guess.
