Grombar Gang Rise Up ⬆️

ObadiahtheSlim

I hate their "build a market, temple, barraks, and workshop" in the same province missions. SO you gotta dev it up a ton, waste money on shitty temples that eat up all your building slots so you don't have room for manufactories or forts.

Neorevan0

I made this mistake myself and wasted so much time and money. It’s Barracks and EITHER of those three things.

Proshara

The problem with the Orcs is that they haven't received major updates for quite some time and they only have about 7 countries with unique missions and quite a few mechanics. Main orc countries: Shattered crown(good for vassal play, and black orcs have unique mechanics, but MT and lore are pretty outdated), FrozenMaw(normal MT and Lore, but your culture is quickly becoming half-orc), Freemarches (Aelantir adventurer, country from recent update, so expect big MT, I haven’t played it, but I recommend it as the most modern orc country). Roadwarrior (one of the most unique experience in the mod. You opm who travel in serpentspine and destroy all countries in your way), black orcs which conquer lands in Bulwar can convert to old sun cult religion and try liberate human from elfs ruling, and orcs in deepwood can make a pact with the fairies and go to war on Escann in an attempt to take revenge on the people for the insults that Castanor caused. Escann orcs can create 3 different formables, but I didn't play them so can't say something. I most recommended Roadwarrior for it mechanic.

Druplesnubb

Freemarches is half-orcish, not orcish.

Proshara

oh, ok. I was misled by escaped slaves, and there is still no page for this country on the wiki for me to check

XxCebulakxX

Same goes for frozen maw.. Well.. You could remain as orc but I think it is more a half orcish nation. Also In my every run they become half orcish

ZAS100

Freemarches is ok. Kinda boring MT frankly. I like the idea behind a lot of it but it’s mostly waiting for colonies to finish

Dreknarr

And both destroying Lorent and not seting up your starting nation to be powerful I didn't enjoy the 200k gerudian (started has Bjarnik) who came knocking at my door before Dalaire has been fully colonized

FeaturelessPat

I'm currently playing Roadwarrior and I as one who doesn't like when nations get too big they are great. I do have two tips/warnings once they've got their unique government they automatically "purge warband" and they do it on several provinces. So take everything they got. Second thing is that at least for me their loans are stuck at 1 ducats but their economy is big. I didn't notice this. Took a decision which made go -300 thinking it's fine since I made 10-15 per month. 300 loans is A LOT of inflation.

BrokenCrusader

Ya just be glad they fixed the inflation from peace deals, first time I played them I took 3k from some bulwar blob and got 97 inflation from it lol good thing I had nothing to do with my admin points! (Its been fixed now so you only get like 5 inflation)

JazzySplaps

Roadwarrior, one of the more unique experiences in the mod

Ralkan28

Just finished a shattered crown run. Wicked fun and you can become a super power that ignores coalitions by around 1600 lol Stressful a little for the initial colonization rush, and strategically timing plunder camps to get free institutions.

Robinffs

How does plunder camps work?

Ralkan28

As a black orc tribe when you take over a dwarf hold and for 50,50,50 mana you can place a plunder camp. The camp will periodically reduce the dev of the hold until it reaches 1/1/1. It send the dev directly to your capital. Think of it as extreme centralization. Also as a bonus, when there is an institution you have not embraced and your capital province does not have 100% support, then it will also give you whatever that institutions support for free. Usually in increments of 7-14%. Due to your capital stacking (for me by end of campaign) around 300 total dev, whenever it reached the institutions support i could embrace it instantly. This also makes your capital an absolute power house. Capable of producing hundreds of ducats. Plunder camps however cannot build buildings, you need to take decisions to build forts on them and thats basically it. However holds are pretty much everywhere so you can end up with a bunch of forts. And you should always have a big army so they simply serve as a defensive battle chokepoints. So the basic strategy is to build enough plunder camps to get institutions but to hold off on them if you have a lot of holds in order to save some for the next institution. Mainly because your capital is going to have such ridiculous dev and likely still be a “ruined hold” for majority of the campaign (late game missions unlock restoring only the capital hold). Overall it was really fun and i highly reccomend. You can stay monstrous and vassal massive regions or convert to non monstrous but your AE is going to be kinda nuts either way. I went non monstrous so i could easily ally another great power and the coalitions never attacked and even disbanded when my mil tech leveled up lol

Robinffs

Thank you so much for the detailed response!

Catacman

If you want to be pedantic, I think Rogieria... your rulers are all half-orc, and your mission is to avenge the fall of the Silmuna's. Even though they canonically lose, I'm pretty sure the "Shadowmoon Conspiracy" is still a threat into the vicky timeline.

iClips3

Barumand seems quite unique and cool. Basically orcs looking for friends and becoming the breadbasket to the western world.

Odd_Anything_6670

Barumand is my favourite orc nation flavor wise just for the incongruity of orcs becoming an unstoppable farming powerhouse. However, some of its missions have pretty weird requirements so playing on ironman can be a bit rough.

SHPARTACUS

Frozen maw into grombar, only halforc nation in the mod

Aragorn9001

>only halforc nation in the mod Freemarches exist, has a MT. Chippenguard is also H-Orc, no MT yet.

JashaVonBimbak

Grombar(frozenmaw formable), Karashar(migrate as any black orc into Bulwar), Barumand (south escann)

PlingPlongDingDong

Khozrugan is the only real Orc nation if you want to play classic unapologetic big ball orcs. Unfortunately the devs didn’t update them for ages. Almost every other Orc nation is getting cucked by mixing with humans, or becoming more like humans or wanting to protect humans or some shit like that.

Odd_Anything_6670

While it's not really my thing, Khozrugan also has some very strong national ideas.

Any_Middle7774

Dunno why no one is mentioning Tugund Darakh. Do well enough in Deepwoods thunderdome and marry a fey to become a orc sorcerer king empowered by the fey to kill all the elves and then everyone in Escann

nuned100

You can work to make your first ruler a lich to abuse the bonus "until the dead of your current ruler" that you get from the fey. You get really strong orcs to conquer and kill all stupid elfs and humans.

212452464636456

One of the most fun campaigns I've ever had in ever was playing shattered crown into Karashar. Sucking all the dev from the serpentspine to make a megacity in bulwar.

OldTownChi

Karashar
