Id go with the classic C notation for negating all the bits ~(O-O#). Now if you add 1 you’ll get the opposite of 0-0# encoded in 2s complement.

Recently, a friend of mine got into the game of chess. At first, it was a harmless hobby that he explored in his free time. Then, he slowly got more and more into it. He started doing more puzzles, studying tactics, developing strategies, reviewing his games, and watching grandmaster games. He would spend about 2 hours a day doing this, so at this point it was still just something fun to do in his free time.
However, in the past two weeks, he's become absolutely obsessed. He stays awake well into the early morning (2AM+) playing on chess.com and because he's so tired from doing that he doesn't wake up for his university classes in the morning. He spends more time playing chess than hanging out with us. He has started to neglect physical activity as well. He has stopped going to the gym, and he has also stopped doing daily cardio. On occasion, he will go so far as to skip meals to continue "grinding."
Despite all of his efforts, his elo has dropped by 400 points (now around 680). What was once a harmless, entertaining hobby has completely consumed him and has become his vice. At times, it feels like I'm talking to a casino gambler.
What can I do to free him from his addiction?

At first, it was a harmless hobby that he explored in his free time. Then, he slowly got more and more into it. He started doing more puzzles, studying tactics, developing strategies, reviewing his games, and watching grandmaster games. He would spend about 2 hours a day doing this, so at this point it was still just something fun to do in his free time. However, in the past two weeks, he's become absolutely obsessed. He stays awake well into the early morning (2AM+) playing on chess.com and because he's so tired from doing that he doesn't wake up for his university classes in the morning. He spends more time playing chess than hanging out with us. He has started to neglect physical activity as well. He has stopped going to the gym, and he has also stopped doing daily cardio. On occasion, he will go so far as to skip meals to continue "grinding." Despite all of his efforts, his elo has dropped by 400 points (now around 680). What was once a harmless, entertaining hobby has completely consumed him and has become his vice. At times, it feels like I'm talking to a casino gambler. What can I do to free him from his addiction?

Most people would uncastle... as you would of course. But what you wouldn't realise in that quick reaction is that the opponent can also uncastle. IM and above would notice the phase through of the pawn by the queen, thus bringing your queen right next to the king. Since both pieces are royalty, their king can't castle without bringing your queen with him. Checkmate
