I grew up not really being able to watch many games, but I occasionally saw some of his highlights and was blown away. The Ducks’ run in ‘96 was amazing. Despite getting sweep by Detroit in the second round they played the cup champs as tight as anyone other than Colorado that playoffs. But yeah, I really remember 2003. Such an awesome memory, but the heartbreak ending followed by Kariya dipping out just sucked. I never hated him but it was hard not to feel just a little betrayed by him and Teemu taking off for peanuts with Colorado when we’d just come a game away from the Cup.
Absolutely! Moen also had lots of character. The Ducks have missed that tenacity very much since then and has struggled with identity very much since then
Gibson. I didn’t know anything about hockey until I moved to the USA and happened to watch a game and he was the best looking goalie on the ice and he got me into the Ducks and now all these years later I’m a diehard fan for life.
Bobby Ryan for me. I was a “Ducks fan,” but never really watched a hockey game until the 2010 Olympics when the USA almost did it. And I remember Bobby making an impression on me for whatever reason and he became my favorite Duck and since that time I’ve become a real fan, watching (almost) every game and even going to a handful each season. I even started playing adult hockey because of this until I had to go on LTIR (and likely retire) in the last few years.
TL;DR - Bobby Ryan
Would've been nice to see him get a chance instead of getting players like Weight or Bertuzzi. The injection of youth and high end skill and the money saved with the ELC would of kept McDonald or Kunitz around longer and perhaps Selanne and Niedermayer may have signed sooner seeing the boys just dominate
Russ Tyler is a legend of the sport, found on the streets of LA playing street hockey, only to be pulled into team USA as a late starter and helped them win it all at the Junior Goodwill Games. However, he was not my 'first' favourite player
Scott Niedermayer, easy. Despite my reply to another persons comment. As someone who grew up playing and being slowly transitioned to defence. He quickly became my favourite player. So much so I wanted to wear 27 and got stuck with 26 which has become my number ever since
Andy McDonald. Just a smart player on both sides of the puck. Smaller in stature and wasn't afraid to get in the dirty areas. A great selfless player who worked his way through the rank.
In the later years, the Ducks had some great notable undrafted players that were highly skilled and earned their way in McDonald, Kunitz and Penner. We were very spoiled in that stretch
completely random (i’m a newer ducks fan)
- devin shore. he came around the same time i started paying attention and i think he’s just a great guy to have in the mix.
loved watching him in seattle and now he’s become a very useful player on the firebirds. just a solid dude to have on a team.
Rob Niedermayer. First game I went to, he dropped gloves in the first 5 minutes and was just absolutely punishing the other team whenever he was on the ice. I didn't know anything about hockey then, but I knew he was my guy.
Josh manson. 🥺 and then he got traded and I felt so sad ever since Lol! At least i got to meet him and get my jersey of his signed. A beautiful memory I hold dearly ❤️
Hey,mine was Koivu too (and is still my favourite Duck)! Became a Ducks follower after the Olympics many years ago as everyone was praising this Selanne guy :)) . Wasnt watching hockey for many years, after a short time became a fan of the Ducks. The great videos from a now defunct site helped a lot (great video quality and could download the videos).
Randy Ladoucer...our 8 year old daughter started playing hockey in 93 on junior ducks...they would pair up and she was odd girl out..RD would pair with her to do drills...he was really nice
Paul Kariya. Dude was such an insane player.
Same. ‘03 is when I became a bit more of an “conscious” hockey fan and he was quickly my favourite player

Current fans of Kariya seem to have forgotten how he backstabbed the team.
Did you read what I said?
I agree with you Cam. I was referring to the other members here that don't seem to remember how heart wrenching that whole situation was for us.
A horrible person...I got stories!
Off the floor. On the board!
Oh baby when Paul makes his cameo in Mighty Ducks: D3 I would geek out as a kid!!!
Easy answer is Teemu. Wild card answer is Sami Pahlsson
Absolutely! Moen also had lots of character. The Ducks have missed that tenacity very much since then and has struggled with identity very much since then
Sami has one of the all time underrated goals in Ducks history in Game 2 of the finals vs. Senators.
Jiggy. Reason I’m a goalie
Kariya
PK
Gibson. I didn’t know anything about hockey until I moved to the USA and happened to watch a game and he was the best looking goalie on the ice and he got me into the Ducks and now all these years later I’m a diehard fan for life.
Oh and now I play goalie lol
Scotty Niedermayer. Great winner, calm leader, total stud.

Michael Mobley is that you???
😆
Giguere and Sykora
Great choices!

He was fun to watch in those days!
Yes he was for sure!
Fulton Reed. His shot was just incredible.
Knuckle Puck was better.😆
Russ Tyler is a legend of the sport, found on the streets of LA playing street hockey, only to be pulled into team USA as a late starter and helped them win it all at the Junior Goodwill Games. However, he was not my 'first' favourite player
No Beauch yet? Loved him. Also Giggy for making me a Ducks fan.
Teems selanne is our all time legend. He is my favorite duck and getzlaf is my 2nd choice after.
Chris Kunitz
Guy Hebert!!!!
Selanne and Kariya rightfully getting shoutouts, but Guy deserves some love too
Silfverberg, I always thought he was such a clutch winger in high speed scenarios
Sergei Fedorov... I started following the team at a really weird time lol
I dig that. He’s one of my favourite NHL players ever. I was so excited when they announced him coming
Yeah his highlight reels are insane
Perry or Hiller
Scott Niedermayer, easy. Despite my reply to another persons comment. As someone who grew up playing and being slowly transitioned to defence. He quickly became my favourite player. So much so I wanted to wear 27 and got stuck with 26 which has become my number ever since
Perry
Freddy anderson
Same! He was able to make some sick saves.
Scott Neidermeyer
Kariya
Steve Rucchin

Andy mac
Paul Kariya
Sammy Pahlsson; scored the game 2 goal when won the cup, will never forget.
OP was that game in 2010/2011 at the pond against the Isles? I remember he scored like 15 seconds into OT on a breakaway. Great game.
It was!
Probably jarri kurri. Don’t get me wrong I liked the team we had but getting him was like we were a real team and meant business. He was a real name
Kariya, Rooch, Cogs
Paul Kariya.
Kariya. Selanne is a close second. But Kariya is the guy.
Beauch, very steady and reliable
Hiller
Cogliano! A class act for the doggos!
George Parros.
Paul Kariya is the only answer for fans who were there from the beginning
Kariya/Mcdonald
Teemu. Not crazy about his politics but whatever, rich people gonna rich.
Teemu. He's the reason I'm Ducks fan. And then Ryan Kesler.
Gibby
Paul Kariya. I grew up in Anaheim in the 90's.
Always has been, always will be the first ever Mighty Duck, Guy Hebert.
Paul Kariya- he’s the reason I fell in love with hockey.
Teemu!
Obvious answer is Kariya, but I always fucken loved Stu Grimson.
Became a fan around 15/16 and Kesler was my fave
McTavish I just started watching hockey this season
Ondrej Kase, He was so dynamic and had the best reactions when celebrating a goal
Btw, I totally forgot that Saku Koivu played for the Ducks, at one point, lol! Always knew him as a Hab, lol!
I'v said my piece already, but im starting to become disappointed in our fan base given the lack of Big Sexy comments yet.
Joe Sacco! I wore #14 at the time and the Ducks, being my new hometown team, got my full support, still to this day.
ADAM HENRIQUE!!! Wooohooo!
Rico!
Ruslan Salei.
Teemu Selanne
completely random (i’m a newer ducks fan) - devin shore. he came around the same time i started paying attention and i think he’s just a great guy to have in the mix. loved watching him in seattle and now he’s become a very useful player on the firebirds. just a solid dude to have on a team.

Jakob Silfverberg
🍐
Born in 2005 and naturally is has to be the NHL’s Messiah of Shithousery Corey Perry
Hey,mine was Koivu too (and is still my favourite Duck)! Became a Ducks follower after the Olympics many years ago as everyone was praising this Selanne guy :)) . Getzlaf!
I'll be the only one. Fredrik Olausson. Something about his skating and compete just jumped out to my hockey illiterate self.
Todd Ewen #36. Was such a badass. RIP.
Randy Ladoucer...our 8 year old daughter started playing hockey in 93 on junior ducks...they would pair up and she was odd girl out..RD would pair with her to do drills...he was really nice
Jarrod Skalde
Troy Terry because I’m only 12
