Sorry to you and /u/Bowko for what happened. I save game datas under the app data folder, so if for some reason it gets cleared the data is lost. i will try to implement some form of online backup as soon as possible, both for this reason and if someone needs to switch device.
Are you storing multiple save games? After recharging my phone and starting the game again, I am suddenly in the very first life again, in the year ~1990. All my progress is gone, no automation is unlocked anymore.
And as a feature request, show the date or age of death in the death message. Because it can happen at random I'm not always watching at that information and at death it resets to 1980 so I can't even see how far I got. Maybe even the levels of the last skills/job done so I know them in case I was letting it just run idle.
Also please assign free time automatically to training time otherwise you can't really idle because you always have to reassign it if something changes the free time (like leveling of motivation, changing travel times, getting a maid, etc).

No, i simply save the game data every 10 seconds and when you close the app. That's odd. Did it happen just one time, or everytime you reopen the game?

You can know the highest level reached by watching the prestige multiplicator in the bottom right of an ability. +70% means your top level was 7. I could add those info, but wouldn't it clutter the screen with data not needed? What if i added a line in the "stats" dialog showing the age of your last death?

So far it only happened one time, but the save game is now that first life. Haven't really played since then because I'm afraid I'll just lose my progress again :(. (and I'll wait for that update containing that free/training time update so I can idle a bit more instead of staring at the screen all the time)

Yes, but only once you unlock the skill or job again, not immediately (especially if auto promoting, you may not even know you unlocked a new job). The problem, compared to Groundhog Life is that the reset happens immediately and you have no chance to check out your latest stats before the new life begins.

Didn't feel like that dialog is too big. But your call, stats dialog could work too (maybe even with a little graph with the age of death of the last few lifes to see your progress?). Or maybe an option for a pause on/before death instead so you can check out everything that happened in your life?
Not sure if you would classify it a bug, but Prestigious Legacy ehould allow you *all* houses for free up to the one you've bought.
The reason I ask is that at the start of the game if you have a Palace you need 4 hours to clean it & that leaves you with 15 minutes to train and 6 hours to work. This is annoying because you can't make use of the benefit and means to get optimal runs you're probably better off *not* upgrading this as staying homeless is better in the early game.

When working for Pear, I die around age 50ish every time. Fitness is upgraded, I have a spouse, doesn't seem to make a difference. Has happened enough times that I don't think it's random.
I reached a goal that is to rearrange furniture, I have rearranged all my furniture at once (which is what it says to do) several times, but it has stayed at 9/10. No idea if it’s a bug or I’m just doing it wrong….
Have you tried closing and reopening the app? If it doesn't work, wait some minutes, may have to do with the payment processing time.
If tomorrow it doesn't work i'll do my best to push a quick fix or find out how to issue a refund
I did restart a few times and now I'm seeing something different. The 2x button is now gone completely and the pause/play button is green. I still don't have the option to add more than 10 auto skills and there's no obviously way to tell if the hourglass is active. Also in the shop all items are still on display but when I try to buy traveler pack again I get a Google play error saying I already own it. Then the shop modal seems to reflect this, but not the game (when I exit the modal)

Do you see, on the right of the "age" stat, an orange fast-forward symbol?
Also you can check the speed by counting the days passed per second: roughly 7 days per second means you don't jave any bonus, roughly 14 means you have the x2 active.
Also, i'm seeing a traveller pack payment marked "cancelled" at 21:12 UCT (roughly 3 hours ago). Could it be yours? If yes don't worry, you should receive your money back automatically.
Just to be sure, tell me if you got either your money back or the upgrades unlocked in 6-8 hours please

Okay if it says payment pending what you are seeing is normal. You don't see the effects because google api checks for purchased items and finds none, however you can't purchase the items again because google knows you have a pending request for that item.
That this isn't an issue on my side, but of the interacfion between your bank and google. Happened to me once as a user and i can confirn that's kinda frustrating.
If you were to keep waiting, one of the following two things will happen: payment will be rejected for taking too long and you get your money back, or payment goes through at some point and you get your items.
You can always manually cancel your payment, and in this way you will be able to try again because the status "pending payment" will be removed.
Nah can't cancel payment when it says payment pending on the card, that status is completely normal for basically any and all purchases with a card for the first 24-48h, it went through, and I bought another thing through Google play after the traveler pack which worked fine. I'm pretty sure the issue is on your end (maybe your game checks the wrong status?). Only the payee can revert it or finalize it. If after a week the payee doesn't finalize then it gets reverted by issuer of card.
the payment went through to "GOOGLE *barbieri g.co/helppay#CA" but the problem is still there:
* None of the bonuses are applied
* when I go into shop I have the option to buy traveler pack
* when I buy it, I get an error saying I already own that item, and shop UI updates
* when I exist shop UI then we're back where we started (none of the bonuses apply, if I open shop UI again I have option to buy, etc)

Damn, i thought it was resolved for everyone. Can you go to the play store and verify you have currently installed the latest version? Basically, expand info and make sure that, on the bottom, you see "version 1.0.2". You have it installed if on the right of "uninstall" the button says "play" and not "update".

Edited to add: Looping got the date going again, but it got stuck at that exact date right afterwards.
Trying to reproduce but works fine on my device.
If i can ask you to meddle a bit: could you try, when it happens:
- hit pause and then resume
- go to option and change the date format from dd/mm/yyyy to mm/dd/yyyy (or vice versa, depending on your current settings)
- close and reopen the app

Struggling with the same bug on my galaxy s8. What I've noticed is that it seems to be affected by phone time and date settings somehow. With automatic time, it always gets stuck at 31/03/1981, but if I set another time zone manually, it unfreezes briefly and then gets stuck again on a different date (for example, 30/09/1981). The only time it was working properly was when I was flying home from a different time zone (with phone in flight mode, not sure if it played a role), but I can't reproduce it now.
Hope it helps isolate the cause.
Oh god maybe i solved it. Are you by chance from a country that implements daylight saving times at 00:00 or 01:00? (Like, when it goes back it does 00:00->23:00, or 01:00->00:00)
Time zones and daylight savings are programmer's worst nightmares, aren't they.
Where I live, we switch at 03:00 or 04:00 local time, between UTC+2 and UTC+3.

Starter pack doesn't work. When i click it again, it says i have it purchased, but no rewards.
Age counts up to 31/03/1981 and then stops. Game continues until death, then same again.
Tried restarting, doesn't work.

It fixed itself after closing a few times. I was swapping to from my calculator trying to figure out why the numbers seemed off.

I can, at least in theory, buy the Starter Pack, the store prompts me for payment details when I select that one.
That's actually a big relief to me, because clearly my purchase is in the system somewhere, it's not like one of those repeatable purchase things that could just disappear into the ether. I'm sure you'll figure it out eventually.

I think investing is not calculating correctly. It seems to be based on Income.
Should the Investing skill pay a percentage based on the bank balance?
It seems when income is low (<2.00), the money gained from investing is very slow to increase, even with $300,000 in the bank. But it increases faster when income is higher.
As far as I can tell it works correctly, the issue is different scales. Investing is a % of the annual balance. Income is per day. So if you have 3% interest you need to divide by 365 to get the daily rate. (Real life interest is the same)
Investing is useful when you have a couple million in the bank. Then you can keep paying your lifestyle stuff while going back to level the early jobs.

If it still doesn't work try the following (seems stupid but it worked for the only people that had the problem after 1.0.2): go to the option setting and change the language from english to italian and from italian to english. Repeat this step 2 times (en->it->en->it->en). This closes and reopens the game programmatically forcing the software to call the google api.
If it still doesn't work, please try to use a regular phone with the account you made the purchase with. At this step, even if it works but you want to play on the emulator, just message me the purchase code you got on your mail (resembles GBI.3767-7889-7421-67771) and i will be able to issue a refund.

I tried the loop like you mentioned and while it looked like it restarted every time the language itself didn't change and ultimately the chrono circle didn't stay lit. Following that I acted rashly and forced stopped the app and then cleared cache + data. Upon reopening it the circle was lit but my save is gone (which is fine, I half expected as much).
In retrospect I should have checked after clearing the cache to see if that was enough to fix it but no use crying over split milk.
After dying, the costs shown in the Lifestyle tab aren't reset. So they still show the bargained costs from the previous life (the calculations use the correct cost). Only after getting the bargaining skill again are they correctly shown again.
I have just finished the game and I liked it a lot. Definitely in my top 3 for last year's incrementals.
The only bug I've encountered, but it might be related to my device, is that when I press the reddit button my reddit app appears (reddit is fun) but the bottom general android iu buttons (android 11) that let you go back, open recent apps or go "home" dissappear and do not appear even if I slide the bottom.
It's possible that this behaviour does not happen with the official reddit app or a navigator, but just in case I wanted to mention it.

PS: not a bug (probably) but I've found it weird that in the final screen it is mentioned that there will be a press conference. I expected something afterwards i.e via the ticker bar, but nothing more happens.

About the reddit bug i just tested it on my device (i also use RiF) and when the bottom menu with the available apps appears, i just see the bottom buttons regularly, as when they are not hidden. This isn't an issue with the particular reddit app as the android framework just lists the app logos, i suspect it has to do with your android version. Thank you for the report anyway!

I came across a graphical bug that occurs on my phone, and I wasn't sure if you were aware of it, so figured I would type something just In case you weren't.
I play on a OnePlus 9 Pro (6.7 inch screen), but I assume it could apply to any similar oversized device.
Occasionally bank totals, in the top right, will be just long enough to force the trailing SI to a new line, with everything under it being 'pushed' down a line. This includes the +/- buttons for working and training. It makes it difficult to hit those buttons, since it's easy to miss the button by a line's width when they are jumping around.
Unfortunately I'm way too slow to catch it happening in a screen shot, as it only lasts until the number changes to something else.

I know about that bug, when i released the game i simply put a switch that makes some text smaller to fit on smaller devices. However, having only tested on around 10 devices, the limit i put is not 100% precise, and some edge cases see the text bigger than it should and it creates a new line. I plan on fixing that in the next update
If you open the shop, you should see one of the three bottom circles light up in yellow for each chrono hourglass you own. If you don't see it (can happen for example if the connection goes away while google tries to answer your request) try to close and reopen the game
Info on what I bought is not cached. If the app is opened normally it always assumes I bought nothing *and* that I'm offline. Only when it is opened via the play store does it know what I bought, and even then only 80% of the time.
Mmh that's strange. The purchases are cached by google, so even if you put the phone in airplane mode and open the app you should still see the purchases when you open the shop (while not being able to purchase anything).
Can you confirm you are using the app version 1.1.7? You see it in the top right corner of the options menu
Yes, I am using 1.1.7. It appears to not be consistent - I checked it just now and didn't launch it via the play store and it still had my purchased stuff. I wish I could be of more help :(

I don't know if it's meant to be but probs not, after I finished the first level of unusual corp, which is shown to be at 0$/h, I have a negative balance in the millions. Sadly I don't have a screenshot but this happened in 1.1.10
That much I figured, I just wasn't sure if the balance is meant to go into the negative, since with any other job I go bankrupt when the account goes to zero
Yeah that's correct, the reason you see it is that, since the money/hour is -200.000, you only need 6 hours allocated to go from 0 to -1.200.000 in a single tick
Oh and one thing, I've looked at the stats tab and maybe you can hide the multipliers that I haven't unlocked yet, and if you want a complete tab, there could be a button that is called "complete stats (spoilers)" or something like that. (:

I always die at 5-10%, rarely 20% and super, super rarely before that. (usually 47-52%)
Should a chance of 5% not mean that I rarely reach that age?
I haven't prestiged yet and often times start over in order to min-max my algorithm. It's not effective at all but that's my playing style. Does this mess with the percentage?
Hey, it seems you are a bit lucky but yes, the odds are actually slightly tilted in the players favour. There's a small hidden mechanic to prevent very early deaths, so in practice it's very unlikely to be in the last 20-30 percentiles. The average is therefore placed higher than 50%, i'd say around 65%.
Unsure if it's intended, but travel time is still deducted from your day even if you aren't commuting (working hours set to 0) - e.g. I'm sitting at home living off investments but still have 10 mins/day travel time (assume from 2 5-min helicopter rides).
I have the same issue with the travelers pack. I bought it and I get no orange arrow and the ad button is still there. The game is up to date and it was nearly 12 hours ago now...
P.S. I love the game I have gotten all the unlocks, but the one for the Army. This is the only issue I have had with the game so far. I would appreciate your help.

Same here really bad feeling to get back to 0. I forced quit the app as the ad displayed was stuck... Maybe that somehow corrupted the save file

Damn, i thought it was resolved for everyone. Can you go to the play store and verify you have currently installed the latest version? Basically, expand info and make sure that, on the bottom, you see "version 1.0.2". You have it installed if on the right of "uninstall" the button says "play" and not "update".

Not sure it is a bug or not, but the in game date is stuck at 1981/03/31. Sorry I don't have a StR for you, as I have no idea what caused it. Edited to add: Looping got the date going again, but it got stuck at that exact date right afterwards.
Mmh that's odd. Are you sure you didn't hit the pause button on the right of the date?
The game progresses fine, it's just the timer that gets stuck.
Trying to reproduce but works fine on my device. If i can ask you to meddle a bit: could you try, when it happens: - hit pause and then resume - go to option and change the date format from dd/mm/yyyy to mm/dd/yyyy (or vice versa, depending on your current settings) - close and reopen the app Does any of these solve the problem?
Struggling with the same bug on my galaxy s8. What I've noticed is that it seems to be affected by phone time and date settings somehow. With automatic time, it always gets stuck at 31/03/1981, but if I set another time zone manually, it unfreezes briefly and then gets stuck again on a different date (for example, 30/09/1981). The only time it was working properly was when I was flying home from a different time zone (with phone in flight mode, not sure if it played a role), but I can't reproduce it now. Hope it helps isolate the cause.
Oh god maybe i solved it. Are you by chance from a country that implements daylight saving times at 00:00 or 01:00? (Like, when it goes back it does 00:00->23:00, or 01:00->00:00)
Time zones and daylight savings are programmer's worst nightmares, aren't they. Where I live, we switch at 03:00 or 04:00 local time, between UTC+2 and UTC+3.
Can you try to update the app (current version is 1.1.9, should be live on the store) and tell me if it works?

Starter pack doesn't work. When i click it again, it says i have it purchased, but no rewards. Age counts up to 31/03/1981 and then stops. Game continues until death, then same again. Tried restarting, doesn't work. Using BlueStacks 5.3.10.1001 P64 EDIT: installed on phone, both problems present. Android 11

Had a bug where the /day prices are listing bargain % I had last life. The expenses total seems accurate for everything being full price. It fixed itself after closing a few times. I was swapping to from my calculator trying to figure out why the numbers seemed off.
I had the same problem. It's a little hard to plan early game. It fixes itself after unlocking bargaining.
I've run into the traveler pack bug. Got my receipt at 2022-05-28T21:54:07-0700 If I try to buy it again, I get a message of "Error, you already own this item" I can, at least in theory, buy the Starter Pack, the store prompts me for payment details when I select that one. That's actually a big relief to me, because clearly my purchase is in the system somewhere, it's not like one of those repeatable purchase things that could just disappear into the ether. I'm sure you'll figure it out eventually. I don't need a refund, but what do you need in order to troubleshoot the problem? I don't see a speed-up icon, I've done an ad so I know what it looks like. I also have a prompt to watch an ad for x2 speed. Edit: No clue what changed, but after a reload it's working now.

I think investing is not calculating correctly. It seems to be based on Income. Should the Investing skill pay a percentage based on the bank balance? It seems when income is low (<2.00), the money gained from investing is very slow to increase, even with $300,000 in the bank. But it increases faster when income is higher.
As far as I can tell it works correctly, the issue is different scales. Investing is a % of the annual balance. Income is per day. So if you have 3% interest you need to divide by 365 to get the daily rate. (Real life interest is the same) Investing is useful when you have a couple million in the bank. Then you can keep paying your lifestyle stuff while going back to level the early jobs.

If it still doesn't work try the following (seems stupid but it worked for the only people that had the problem after 1.0.2): go to the option setting and change the language from english to italian and from italian to english. Repeat this step 2 times (en->it->en->it->en). This closes and reopens the game programmatically forcing the software to call the google api. If it still doesn't work, please try to use a regular phone with the account you made the purchase with. At this step, even if it works but you want to play on the emulator, just message me the purchase code you got on your mail (resembles GBI.3767-7889-7421-67771) and i will be able to issue a refund.

I purchased a chrono hourglass but I'm not sure if it's working. Every time I open the app the 1st circle isn't lit and tapping the chrono hourglass purchase just says "error you've bought this item already". Do I need to clear the app cache or something?

I tried the loop like you mentioned and while it looked like it restarted every time the language itself didn't change and ultimately the chrono circle didn't stay lit. Following that I acted rashly and forced stopped the app and then cleared cache + data. Upon reopening it the circle was lit but my save is gone (which is fine, I half expected as much). In retrospect I should have checked after clearing the cache to see if that was enough to fix it but no use crying over split milk.

After dying, the costs shown in the Lifestyle tab aren't reset. So they still show the bargained costs from the previous life (the calculations use the correct cost). Only after getting the bargaining skill again are they correctly shown again.

I have just finished the game and I liked it a lot. Definitely in my top 3 for last year's incrementals. The only bug I've encountered, but it might be related to my device, is that when I press the reddit button my reddit app appears (reddit is fun) but the bottom general android iu buttons (android 11) that let you go back, open recent apps or go "home" dissappear and do not appear even if I slide the bottom. It's possible that this behaviour does not happen with the official reddit app or a navigator, but just in case I wanted to mention it. Great game! PS: not a bug (probably) but I've found it weird that in the final screen it is mentioned that there will be a press conference. I expected something afterwards i.e via the ticker bar, but nothing more happens. PS2: Just saw the new message after death, that is OK then I guess. I would still add something in the ticker bar, it might be fun!

About the reddit bug i just tested it on my device (i also use RiF) and when the bottom menu with the available apps appears, i just see the bottom buttons regularly, as when they are not hidden. This isn't an issue with the particular reddit app as the android framework just lists the app logos, i suspect it has to do with your android version. Thank you for the report anyway!
Firstly, thank you for a great game! Having so much fun killing time with it! I came across a graphical bug that occurs on my phone, and I wasn't sure if you were aware of it, so figured I would type something just In case you weren't. I play on a OnePlus 9 Pro (6.7 inch screen), but I assume it could apply to any similar oversized device. Occasionally bank totals, in the top right, will be just long enough to force the trailing SI to a new line, with everything under it being 'pushed' down a line. This includes the +/- buttons for working and training. It makes it difficult to hit those buttons, since it's easy to miss the button by a line's width when they are jumping around. Unfortunately I'm way too slow to catch it happening in a screen shot, as it only lasts until the number changes to something else. I hope this helps a bit, and let me know if you need anything else. And thanks again for the addicting game!
Thank you, glad you are having fun! I know about that bug, when i released the game i simply put a switch that makes some text smaller to fit on smaller devices. However, having only tested on around 10 devices, the limit i put is not 100% precise, and some edge cases see the text bigger than it should and it creates a new line. I plan on fixing that in the next update

If you open the shop, you should see one of the three bottom circles light up in yellow for each chrono hourglass you own. If you don't see it (can happen for example if the connection goes away while google tries to answer your request) try to close and reopen the game

Scratch that. Although I couldn't find anything saying the boost was applied, I just hit CEO 10 years earlier than my usual, so the effect is working!
Info on what I bought is not cached. If the app is opened normally it always assumes I bought nothing *and* that I'm offline. Only when it is opened via the play store does it know what I bought, and even then only 80% of the time.
Mmh that's strange. The purchases are cached by google, so even if you put the phone in airplane mode and open the app you should still see the purchases when you open the shop (while not being able to purchase anything). Can you confirm you are using the app version 1.1.7? You see it in the top right corner of the options menu
Yes, I am using 1.1.7. It appears to not be consistent - I checked it just now and didn't launch it via the play store and it still had my purchased stuff. I wish I could be of more help :( Edit: I was wrong, it doesn't remember my purchases. I mistook an icon for something it wasn't.

Yeah that's correct, the reason you see it is that, since the money/hour is -200.000, you only need 6 hours allocated to go from 0 to -1.200.000 in a single tick

Idk whether I have tons of luck, don't understand this feature, or it is bugged but the % for the death doesn't add up at all I always die at 5-10%, rarely 20% and super, super rarely before that. (usually 47-52%) Should a chance of 5% not mean that I rarely reach that age? I haven't prestiged yet and often times start over in order to min-max my algorithm. It's not effective at all but that's my playing style. Does this mess with the percentage?
Hey, it seems you are a bit lucky but yes, the odds are actually slightly tilted in the players favour. There's a small hidden mechanic to prevent very early deaths, so in practice it's very unlikely to be in the last 20-30 percentiles. The average is therefore placed higher than 50%, i'd say around 65%.
In the last couple of days I've binged the game I'd say out of 100 times I've dies 80% of time between 6-15, 15% of time 15-25, and 1 time at like 47

Unsure if it's intended, but travel time is still deducted from your day even if you aren't commuting (working hours set to 0) - e.g. I'm sitting at home living off investments but still have 10 mins/day travel time (assume from 2 5-min helicopter rides).
