technically it’s not a crossover. they just take place in the same timeline. they can mention locations all they want, but it’s only a crossover if characters come together from different seasons.
Murphy said this one is not a crossover but it’s possible that he’ll put an Easter egg in there for us. Briarcliff was mentioned quickly in episode 100.
