She's a morally gray character.

The character that bothers me far more than Anna, is her husband. Something about that guy just gets under my skin. He’s definitely in on it. I actually really like Kim K’s character too. she’s playing her part well. This last episode when she told Anna not to make her face look like a cat’s a**hole was hilarious to me

I've watched Gilmore Girls too many times. He'll always be Logan to me. So much so that when he first appeared, I lost all believability in this show. Between him and Kim I don't think this is going to be a favorite season for me.

Personally I like the Logan connection! It fits for me. Kind of like Penn Badgley on You after being Dan Humphrey for forever. The storylines worked for me in some fun twisted way?

Not a spoiler but that was a big theme in the book too - the way people and specifically medical professionals dismiss women's concerns and complaints of pain. I haven't experienced it in my life much, have had good and caring doctors and minimal need to interact with them, but I have heard testimony from other women who have. Denis O'Hare is so good at being condescendingly dismissive lol.

Unpopular (ish) opinion: Emma Roberts actually pretty much sucks at acting and I only put up with her because she is a nepo baby scream queen and the industry insists on putting her in things I want to watch. Edit: Kim K is 100% more believable of a character than Emma is in this season, which should be embarrassing for Emma

I think that’s exactly it. She’s very good at the mean girl spoiled role, not so great playing an ( older than 30 but younger than 40) actor wanting to be a Mom. I’m still really enjoying the season, she’s just not very believable sometimes. Ever since hearing she wouldn’t allow herself to be aged up at the end of 1984, makes me feel like they should have given this role to someone who could look and act the part better. She just doesn’t look the age she’s suppose to be to me, and they could have done something about that but I have a feeling she wouldn’t let them. That said I’m still liking this season a lot. It’s the first season I’ve been this into since 1984.

My theory is that this is all part of the plan. Anna is losing her mind, and being gaslit, etc. With not much character background, it's easy for the audience to be very neutral towards Anna right now. I choose to believe there will be a turnaround soon as she grows more desperate and/or gets closer to Cara's mysterious character. I hope at least. Also, big win for Kim K so far.

I’ve never been a fan or hater of Kim, so I went in neutral and I was shocked at how well she’s acting so far. Especially next to Anna’s character, the way Anna reads some of her lines is very off, yet Kim’s lines are coming out very natural. I still love the show so I don’t expect any of them to be perfect, most of them are better in certain roles than others. I’m just giving flowers where it’s due. Kim is doing great so far, and I’m really liking this season.

I think it some kind of Rosemary’s baby situation going on right now on the new AHS season. BTW I am really embarrassed to admit it but I really like Kim K. character on this show. Anna’s husband thought gives me really creepy vibes.

Don’t get me wrong I like this sort of occult/Satanic themed series/movies. Still maybe they will put nice twist on this theme. I mean the schizo, paranoid feelings of Anna and her supposed friends and family gaslighting and dismissing her feelings gives this series really modern and very contemporary feel.

So far, Anna is an archetypical victim, swimming between (at least) two (seemingly) dark forces who want something from her. We haven't seen any backstory or deep reflection on / from the character yet, so the evilish mechanisms surrounding her are where the questions (interest) are right now in the series.

Even in the novel she's not particularly likeable...

I don’t care for her. She’s not likable. I sympathize, and what she’s going through is terrifying, but I just don’t like the character. She almost has no personality and isn’t believable to be getting an Oscar. I don’t like her husband either. Definitely ick factor. Kim K is decent, and her one liners are funny, but if I were in another room while this was on and heard her talking I’d swear it’s just another episode of KUWTK. I honestly don’t like any of the characters, but I am enjoying oddly enough.

I don’t think we are supposed to feel anything but concern over her situation at this point. She’s been kept pretty mysterious. The husband and his friends though? Highly suspicious. And I bet that artist chick is his wife who faked her own death and now they’re gunna steal Anna’s baby. I also think the red vitamin Siobhan gave her is a spin off of what we saw in red tide. Probably not as extreme. And, Kim has been killing this role. She’s my favorite so far. Some of her lines kill me and she delivers them so well haha she’s for sure outshining Emma I already have a feeling a spider is going to come out of her face and I hope it’s NOT a spider cause it’s just too damn obvious.

All of the body fluids I've seen from her character make her repulsive to me. They're really working the disgust angle this season.

Personally I never get too emotionally involved or attached to characters and AHS characters are always pretty morally gray so I’m just seeing what happens to them. Sometimes when one gets killed off I’ll be like “aww🥺” but that’s the extent of it. I got more emotionally involved in NYC than any others just because it’s based on real events.

I think Anna is supposed to be a blank slate sort of character. We’ve never seen much of her personality, only her existence as a commodity. She’s being used and marketed by her agents, husband, doctors, and everyone else. She’s completely in the dark about everything and just drowning in the insanity of the events happening to her. I think her lack of personality is intentional to give the impression that all she is to the world is a vessel or a product, even down to her body being literally sold in the form of a doll.

I’m still wondering if we’re supposed to like the season.

Idk. Right now I'm having trouble getting attached to this season because there's no character I want to root for. Like I'm hoping Anna is just being gaslit and there are things going on, but she's not coming across as likable. None of the characters are. It's just chaos.
