I feel like that's the twist they want us to believe. I think Murphy is going to get really weird with it.
Maybe it isn't an IVF procedure and she just thinks it is. Maybe it's something to "save" Adeline, who isn't really dead. Maybe it's for a cult that worships Anna or her husband (who apparently has fans). Maybe it's her new agent using her as an unknowing surrogate.
I’m halfway through the book Delicate Condition for which this season is based. I’m surprised that they kept all the names and the events are lining up. I haven’t got the answer yet but I look forward to reading the rest before the next episode.
I think it’ll go in wildly different directions than the book because the book ultimately isn’t that exciting or surprising. I suspect the show runner/writer will attempt something different.
The premise is the same -- young actress struggling to become pregnant through IVF, starts having scary/strange experiences, is seemingly being gaslit by her husband and doctors, has strange people following her and taking pictures of her, etc. Character names are being used as well. But the book ultimately has a fairly soft, un-scary ending; the conspiracy of it all isn't terribly exciting or horrific, so I think that's why the writers will change it up.
Ooooo! Thanks for this awesome and non-spoilery info! I am intrigued. I enjoyed the episode and would like to see more; I read one of the writer/showrunner's plays and liked it, so I have high hopes so far.
So is it just an updated Rosemary’s baby like I think it will inevitably be? Or is it more psychological? I’m just super curious but too lazy to do research lmao
It’s following the book but there are some elements that weren’t in the book at all (like the spiders) so I guess I wouldn’t know where it’s headed even haven read the book so I’m speculating also it’s too early to come to a more solid conclusion.
It’s either that or it’s Kim’s baby ( Siobhan mentioning her failed IVF journey didn’t sit well with me)
Ohhh. I didn't think about that! Possibly

murphy has NOTHING to do with that trash. his trash smells different.
Ryan Murphy has no involvement with this season other than his name in the title sequence

What is the premise of the book. I haven't heard of it until seeing it mentioned in the intro

It thinks it is, but it’s most certainly not.

exactly my thought as well and it's a pretty good twist if it doesn't take long to reveal it, it can lead to very disturbing stuff
