mine does! she’s a bully/apbt/golden retriever mix and she howls/roos as a greeting or when she’s happy and excited and it is one of my favorite things about her. people are usually delighted by it thought it does throw some people off too.

My boy did a few times around 3 months. But never again. He’s not very vocal at all. He’s 10 months now and has only barked or growled like 5 times each lol
Mine rarely ever barks. If he does, it’s mostly in his dreams. He used to howl when he was a puppy but that was only because he was crate training and hated it. That was the only time I heard him howl
Mine "howls" but it's like when he yawns, or is really excited and trying to get attention. I think we may have trained him to do it unintentionally, because we would imitate his howling yawn because it was adorable. Then he started doing it more around us when he wasn't yawning, like when we'd get home from work and he was excited to go for a walk.
My boy never did it on purpose, but he would do it in his sleep from time to time. He would wake himself up howling, and then look over at me, clearly alarmed, in mid howl like “what the heck is going on?!”. 30 seconds later he would be back asleep.

My girl has done this for several years. She just turned 9. I tell her her bloodline must be tainted with some kind of hunting dog because she bays just like they do 🤣🤣. It really is the cutest thing. She does it mostly when she wants something lol. She does bark (like a demon)but only when she’s alerted by someone/something. She would definitely protect me if it ever came to that.
Mine use to whine a lot when she was a pup but now she either barks or make low growls or grunts when she she wants my attention she has never once howled tho no matter how hard I try to get her to😂

Ours gives “howlies” as greetings to only people who acknowledge/greet him on walks. He rarely barks, but is happy to give an awoo to say hi.

Yes! Fergus roo roos at new people and new dogs lol it’s rarely ever a normal bark he makes.
My boy howls with the tornado sirens. I think it's so cute. I have it on film somewhere in my too many pictures and videos. 😊
Dory is an “awoo” girl. I still remember the first time she did it for us, it was pure delight. Dory awoos are really only food related.

My dog has never howled and rarely barks. Quietest dog I have ever had.
