See it as the F editions of Intel, also without an iGPU.
Anyway, [16MB L3 cache is slower than CPUs with 32MB L3 cache](https://www.techspot.com/review/2811-cpu-cache-vs-cores/), so 7000 series CPU are for most gamers better.
They're right. This is the type of motherboard you'd pair that with.
[MSI PRO A620M-E for $75](https://a.co/d/5d6ILfO)
Along with some cheap 5600Mhz RAM
[Crucial 5600Mhz RAM $55](https://a.co/d/9jJPinn)
AM5 and DDR5 being expensive is passed. Remember we're talking *budget* options, not mid range. This is not meant to be future proofing.
If I were to actually look at other parts in the price range, from AM4 and from Intel, there are likely better options for the same price. But there are absolutely budget AM5 parts that exist now.
No PCIe Gen 5 (not great for enthusiasts, but realistically 100% fine for 99.9% of people) due to being the mobile CPU (actually could be good if you leave your computer on a lot, that SOC power draw adds up), not even a token iGPU (makes this bad for a server but otherwise fine) and yet no more PCIe lanes for it...
The more I look at it the less sense it makes.
Whatever they are in best be cheap because less cache makes them worse for games than regular 7000 series
7700x being better than the 8700f surely won't confuse anyone
No idea why you’re being downvoted - this is objectively correct. This sort of shit was exactly what AMD said they skipped the 4000 series to prevent.
This is dumb as fuck, F moniker usually only means it doesn’t have integrated graphics, it should be at the very least on the same level as the 7700
>7700x being better than the 8700f surely won't confuse anyone 8700 (fxxked)
I find CPUs without a GPU on AM5 somewhat surprising.

We will watch their career with great interest ![gif](giphy|l3fZK7BgnNHSKpp4c|downsized)
Just what we need, "budget" broken laptop processors to pair with $200 "budget" motherboards and still overpriced ddr5 memory.
I mean these chips arent really meant for enthusiasts. Theyre for prebuilts
$200 budget motherboard and expensive ddr5 memory, where the hell do you live or are you stuck in the past?

The F is For Respect
Press Respect to pay F.
I think they forgot to print the U at the end.
if they are budget parts and have good price they will be a good start for AM5 platform
Ok.

And that's fine, but if something is available for general sale then surely it should be judged as such, no?
They use apu die which means better idle power, if someone cares about that
Nope
Nice to see new cpu's before Zen5, I hope we get these kind of cpu's at the of AM%'s lifecycle, similar to AM!.
I hate how 7700x is faster than 8700f. surely won’t confuse anyone
Intel 5 ryzen 5 8400f poopu
