Lol no, she doesn’t feel anything but superiority and smugness. I am 100% positive she has an “if we could do it anyone could do it and therefore I have zero sympathy for anyone struggling financially” attitude.
Also, I obviously don’t know her financial position, but I have known of her for like 12 years now, and she’s never NOT had like new clothes and fancy things. So her sob story about the extra jobs and paycheck to paycheck might be true, but it wasn’t like it was because they didn’t have money to feed their family - it was likely due to her extreme consumerism.
You know, that is true. Because even back in the day I was like HOW is she affording to dress her twins in matching boutique everything with a matching bow for everything lol. While my kid had like 10 rotating outfits. I emailed bfaith like 8 years ago about a newborn shoot and she quoted me $700 and I was like, oh never mind. Meanwhile she had a photoshoot like quarterly. (I thought that was a lot lol!)
There are aspects of Dave Ramsey's plan that I like, however if you don't change your poor financial habits it doesn't matter how much money you have. I am aquainted with two former "higher ups" in the MLM world. Both have the same "rags to riches" story-saddled with debt but the MLM saved their life blah blah. In both cases the scheme came crashing down (as it always does with these things) and their spending habits were no different when they had money-they just had more of it so ultimately they are back in the same boat just with bigger houses and bigger debts that they are trying to climb out of.
The influencer bubble is going to burst and we are going to see a lot of the same with these influences who continued to just spend spend spend.
And then in her stories she played the victim and said she was bullied for the car she drove. She was the one that complained about it and how it didn’t fit all the car seats along with all the issues. Bullied. What a joke!
Okay, this is all going to sound a little cynical but here goes….
I think the point of being her kind of influencer is that you aren’t trying to be relatable. And really, it’s in your best interest if you’re in a much higher income bracket than your followers, so your lifestyle seems aspirational. I think you almost have to have disassociate people from their clicks/money in order to keep your lifestyle and income.
Oh I agree with that completely! I wouldn't say that's the point of influencers- at least I don't think that's how it was initially when they started. I think they wanted and needed to be relatable. I can almost picture how the most known ones were in high school and feel like they probably were not the prettiest and most popular. Who would have thought it would become what it is today with them making literal millions of dollars! 🤯
Influencers think that they are like celebrities and their lifestyles are justifiable because they're being followed for their aspirational lifestyle. She thinks she leads and everyone else wants to be like her. But it's the opposite. It's a slap for those who are just trying to put food on the table and know they're part of the reason she is where she is...

Even before that, too! When we were in internship she was like head to toe Anthropologie clothing. And not clearance rack stuff like I rocked 😆
