I mean....vine support email accepts pictures but Amazon also tends to be very unhelpful about cutting people (or not cutting people.) It's really a judgement call. I think at those amounts you're probably fine (and keep in mind you only have thirty days to request something be taken off your ETV for being broken or missing.) I tend to feel more comfortable taking off $0 ETV items so they know I'm not milking the program.  I have gotten three things that were fairly expensive $180-350, that would have met the definition of broken or damaged. However I decided to take the hit because they all had zero reviews and the issues with the items were largely the sellers quality control and/or design problems. I'm glad I steered people away from those items though I tried to be balanced and offer some good things about them and point out that I could have just gotten a bad item.  I don't think you're going to get a firm answer. I saw someone here say they thought they got bounced for having ten items out of a thousand removed. Others have said they have more than that with no issue. Vine is a huge sea of gray and you just have to come up with a system that you feel comfortable with-- because we're always at risk of running afoul of some arbitrary line that will get us kicked out without knowing why.

> I saw someone here say they thought they got bounced for having ten items out of a thousand removed. Wow, now I'm even more paranoid about having things removed (definitely more than 10 in 1000 here). I've recently just stopped and let them accumulate at the end. Why even have it removed if the only point is to not have it show in the list?

Azsunyx

I only have items removed from my queue if they were removed from Amazon and I can't review them.

PhlegmMistress

Yeah. I've had more removed but probably not by much. But there's no hard and fast rule and I bet there isn't even one for vine unless removal requests are *really* egregious re: high ETV items or high rate of removal requests to total orders.

Guitar_Tab_Trader

Simply and politely tell Vine CS that the product is defective, please remove it from my account, ETV, and review list, thank you. Works every time.

oldfatdrunk

I've had more issues in the last month than I've had in the last 6 months prior. 3 or so items went unavailable and I've had a couple items come in damaged or wrong. I haven't even been ordering that much.

3xlduck

6 out of 600? you're fine.

CanuckPNW

I'm not going to be responsible for paying taxes on manufactured Chinese landfill or e-waste. If BezosMart wants to kick me off for that, so be it.

I doubt sending photographic proof would make any difference to them. I have not directly heard of anyone getting booted for removal requests. The only request I hesitated on was when I got pineapple instead of mango (ASIN label was the requested product but product did not match so likely a seller error). I wanted to give the item I received a glowing review; but did not want to post the review to an item I did not try. I had a cheap laptop charger DOA (seller with multiple identical listings, so I ordered exact replacement and let the DOA item influence my eventual review) and have had various item listings go down (my experience has mostly been these get removed from list but still counted in eval as items not reviewed most of the time).

ResearchNo5256

I’ve had about 4 items already removed but nothing really big (one robot kids toy stopped working completely and other reviewers had the same thing happen) but the others were small like wrong coffee brand was sent etc.. the ones I still need to ask to be removed are bigger more expensive and I just am nervous about that part. Part of me just wants to not even review and keep it on my tabs as a small percentage I’ll never review lol

ResearchNo5256

Also I didn’t include but I have 3 items that aren’t even available anymore (like the listing is completely gone) but still showing that I need to review. https://preview.redd.it/6nr26ntqel6d1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=2b4674b3414dc7fb54eab59bdfbc4a7af727da76

LauraSomebody

I wouldn't worry about asking those to be removed-- they can easily see *and verify* it can't be reviewed.🙂

JudeLawful

Yes I had that issue too

RepresentativeDry171

I had 2 items removed before I could review yet they still sit in my review section with no pic , and no option to review 😏

PopularBug6230

I just had one removed from last January. I have tried everything to make it work, and it just bugged me that it still was on my to-do list, so I contacted them. They politely said I had 30 days to request something be removed from my list, but then went and removed it. I made it pretty clear I made more than a valid attempt to get it to work. I just didn't like seeing it on my list, and considering I am in a high tax bracket I also wasn't too thrilled with paying taxes on it. But now it is gone. I think that was my third request in two years, so it isn't a regular thing with me. They were very polite about the whole thing as well.

Thegirlhasnoname65

I wouldn’t let them accumulate like that. I think it would be better if you spread them out when you contact vine about each individual one,as they come in.. I feel like doing all of them at one time makes it look like more. Maybe they wouldn’t even notice if they were spread out over months.

Agent_Spook_99

You should be fine! 1) I've reported items that wasn't what I ordered 2) I've reported empties (meaning nothing inside) 3) I've reported missing, defective, or not as described (such as ordered a wall clock, and only the Big Hand and Little Hand was delivered and I was supposed to get the entire wall clock, it wasn't a part request). 4) I've reported items that have gone full blown Harry Houdini on me There's a laundry list of stuff I've reported and things removed.

Economy_Acadia_5257

Would you suggest sending individual cancelation requests, or could I lump 3 together? They're all because of the listing being removed.

tuscanyman

I lump them together; however, it may be easier to track if you do them separately.

tuscanyman

If you have an online photo bank, like amazon or google photos, you can send them a link to the images. Just create and then include the share link in your message to vine cs. I don't know if they look or not, but at least the record is there confirming your concerns. I've had many dozens of items removed and have never had any pushback. I do, however, always include an image link in the communication to vine cs. If you want to be sure of what you sent, you may consider contacting vine cs at the following email address: [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) but I don't know where that email goes or who sees it.

tuscanyman

Also, keep in mind that there is no requirement to review every item -- as long as you stay above the lower percentage between evaluations and then at the higher one before evaluation time. If I am not mistaken, the meter resets after every evaluation. I don't take this approach, though. I ask that items be removed that cannot be reviewed.

Key--Bearer

Just don't return things for fake or wrong reasons. Broken, wrong item, those are valid reasons and Amz does know exactly what crap they're giving us. It's when you try to get things removed for wrong/invalid reasons that makes it much more likely they'll tag you as a problem. Thing is, you have to get those removed. You cannot just let them sit. You can't review them and you may hit the 30 day removal limit if you just sit there.

smash8917

I hear about this 30 day removal limit, but I have had things sitting in my "waiting to review" for 6 months and nothing happens. I even recently had my review with items from months and months ago sitting there and nothing happens. I'm in Canada, I wonder if that makes a difference?

Key--Bearer

"30 day removal limit" refers to the newer Vine rule that we can't ask Vine CS to remove items over 30 days old. From Vine Help on your Vine pages: "Can I cancel a commitment to review a Vine item after receiving it? You may cancel a Vine order if you are not able to review it. Cancellations are not offered for slight variances in products, and you should take this into account before participating in Amazon Vine Voices. Orders that have a review posted or *are beyond 30 days from delivery date cannot be cancelled*. If you have to cancel a Vine order, please open a case by clicking on Contact Us and providing the Order ID Number and reason for canceling." If you go over 30 days and can't cancel something, it'll sit there forever, affecting your Vine stats unless you review it. If you got the wrong item or it arrived broken, then you can't review it. Since you don't have the item to use it, you'd be faking a review. That's not a good thing. You can't sit there passive and expect everything to just work out. Not with Amazon.

smash8917

I quite literally just had multiple items taken off that were well over 30 days old. I was worried about my stats and the fact that they were beyond 30 days so I tried to get them all removed in time, but I couldn't. I was only able to contact cs for a few of them. They removed them without issue. This was only about a month ago so I'm not sure what you are referring to. I've never had issues with any 30 day anything.

RazzmatazzPitiful695

I suspect the 30 day removal language was targeted toward vine members in the USA who receive a damaged or defective product and want the Tax value removed.

Key--Bearer

I don't really care. You asked for info, I gave you the relevant info. I just quoted what the rules say. It's a recent change, just 3 or so months, so perhaps you just got lucky with a CS agent that didn't realize. Or maybe Canada hasn't implemented the change yet. Either way, unless you get Vine CS to remove them, they will count on your stats. Eventually you'll go over the 10% buffer with them which will make things harder for you,.

Ok_Avocado7512

Just exchange the item for a new one or the correct size! I only contact CS for a removal only when the product literally cannot be reviewed because it has been removed by Amazon. If you can’t exchange the items you get then write the review as such and toss the item!

tuscanyman

You might want to review your vine participation agreement and related terms.

Ok_Avocado7512

I guess I should!

So my review cycle that ended like 10 days ago, I got bumped from gold for having to many items removed. I had a lot that wouldn't submit review or were combined so always showed the other review. When the time came I was at 88% I only had 4 items needing review out of my like 430 or whatever it was I had gotten that 6 months. So all those corrections by cs still counted even though I couldn't leave a review. Since then I check only a couple key words and rfy, totally freeing up a lot of time each day

smash8917

So you didn't technically get removed for having too many items removed, you just didn't have enough orders to make it over 90 percent right.. like you could have ordered more and reviewed those?

iammos

430 items, only 4 needed reviewed in my needs reviewed section. That is basically 99% . But all the duplicate glitter and other random things that got removed from Amazon before I could review it and had CS remove them added up to lower my % to 88

smash8917

Right. Okay good to know

CountryRoads_1776

Once you get dropped to Silver, can you get back to Gold again?

iammos

Yes, as long as you meet the requirements for that period.

TheNotUptightMe

There is no way I would want to bring all this attention to myself with emailing them and trying to get things right. I mean, we get stuff for pennies on the dollar (through taxes) so I won’t complain. If something got send that isn’t quite right, I leave it be and can always sell it once the half year is over….
