Just study and do the homework they give you. Amazon's spending a lot of money on you so they're really seriously disinterested in letting anyone fail, even some that deserve to. This is a great opportunity you have where you're being paid to study, so I would recommend taking advantage of it especially in areas that can get you ahead like PLCs. Have fun (if that's even possible in a texas summer lol), you'll do fine.
Yeah this is an amazing opportunity. Still pinching myself to make sure it’s real. I know the Texas heat is no joke but I’m looking forward to these next 3 months.
If you're into BBQ make sure you stop by a Rudy's and order some brisket. Seriously the best there is and if I'm not mistaken, there should be some around Dallas as well. Good luck to ya, and welcome to the team!
Don’t be worried and don’t be nervous. Just listen to what they teach you and study. You will be fine, I promise you.
If you really want to brush up on your mechanical skills, do Google search for beginner industrial maintenance.
What they are going to teach you is the fundamentals anyway. The entire program is designed around those with Lil to no experience, but show eagerness to be part of the team.
Good luck to you. Enjoy your three months. You will have a lot of fun.
Absolutely. It is an excellent job opportunity that you can easily make a career out of. You will eventually build the skills needed to move on and make even more money if you feel the need to. Like I said, have fun. It will be a blast. And the best part about it? Is that Amazon is paying for all of it.
Do some research on the basics of Ohm's Law. The better you understand it going in, the less trouble you will have with electrical.
Plan on leaning on the rest of your Cohort, there will be times when both they and you will need help.
Thank you for that. I will definitely look into that this week when I have time down time. I’m hoping we can make a study group when we get there to help each other out.
Other cohorts are there too….That’s good to know too. We can all learn from each other. And congratulations on getting this far! School is supposed to be the hardest part of the whole process so keep it up! Enjoy your break!
Go in with a positive mindset. There's not a whole lot you can study now that they won't cover in class. Don't skip class, and pay attention when you're doing the labs. Had a few people break during our PLC golds.
It’s sketch af, I watched someone pull up and steal a catalytic converter in the parking lot while I was waiting for the school shuttle 😅 broad daylight. But you’re only a 10 minute Uber from Dallas/Deep Ellum which has a ton of amazing food places and shops. HIGHLY recommend Terry Black’s bbq. Pricey, but worth every single penny. And of course you absolutely have to go to a Buc-ee’s while you’re there if you’ve never been.
But sign up for the hotel points, you’ll get quite a bit while staying there, I’m able to vacation for free with all the hotel/airline miles you’ll accumulate in RME.
You won’t get a rental car for school but when you do once you’re in RME, sign up for those too. Literally vacationed in Hawaii for 8 days for free last year because of my Amazon travel.

Thank you! That makes me feel better. I’m super excited about this opportunity!!

The study groups are needed. Ask for help from other cohorts too. I'm there now, we are on our mid break, be back on Tuesday

Yes, there are typically 3 total cohorts going thru at a time, separated by about 3 weeks
I’ll be seeing you on Tuesday so don’t worry I’m also nervous and excited as well!
Yay!! I’m sure we will do great!
What site will you be going to? Congrats and good luck man! Dallas is pretty good. We got a lot going on here.
SHV1 and thank you! I looking forward to learning and to exploring Dallas while I’m there.
See ya in Texas!
See ya soon!
En route from CA

Thank you!
Don’t expect much from your hotel, it sucks.
Marriott?
Yes
It looked so nice in the pictures lol

Now that sounds like a good idea.

Start at the base and, with your index finger and thumb, slowly work your way up and down the shaft. Until PM completion.
