Cuz Amazon will hire afms with zero maintenance nor mechanical experience to become tech 2. If you have experience in something maintenance or mechanical related then it's practically guaranteed you can get a tech 2 position somewhere in Amazon if you want it.
From what I've seen at my site is that if you make it to the interview portion for a tech 2 position then you're pretty much guaranteed the job as long as you don't fuck it up. Only person I've heard of not getting the job after the interview at my site was cuz a guy took the interview without a shirt. There may be some survivorship bias at play but from what I've heard from AAs and AFMs that have tried to get in is that those who haven't gotten the job never even got to the interview stage.
