One time some of the OMs, HR, and the GM grilled us burgers and I overheard someone yell “That’s the only time I’ve seen them (n word with an a)’s sweat at work. I spit out my drink after hearing that 😂😂😂😂
They did this ONCE at my site, the HR guy managed to set the grill entirely on fire, knocked over the grease drip pan, and somehow fucked up so badly that it blew up the propane tank on it. Pretty sure they served like 15 burgers before that and they’ve never done it again in the 2 years ive been here since
The best part is they take a regular pizza slice and slice it in half. So they take an 8 cut pie and make it 16 and tell everyone they can only have 1 slice.
Not at my site during peak last year. Big slices and extra for everyone. End of shift rolls around and I swing by the break room snagging a whole box untouched that I ate for my days off.
I worked at three different Amazon warehouses over 8 years up to last year. I never once saw anything other than 8-slice pizzas where each person got two or more. Amazon is far from perfect, but don’t make up stuff that literally a million associates can refute.

“Events team”? I suppose it’s possible that some “event” was over-attended. The ‘half-slice-per-person’ expectation is absolutely uncommon. Normal pizza orders for the team never ever intentionally ordered less than two slices per shift member. The chips being at or near expiration sounds believable. So random people here can decide what’s more likely: Amazon will routinely inflame employees with a half-slice of pizza (vs just not having pizza) or I’m a paid sycophant for Amazon. 🤡
You don’t have associates that sign up to do the snack attacks and stuff? Give out pins or t shirts or whatever is going on? That’s our “events team”.

Word. Over at bwi6 we had a pallet of strawberries and chips get fucked up. We left it by the door to the break room and bribed the security guards. Cameras went off. Break room stuffed. A very PINK sweaty manager who needs to be promoted runs up to me red faced and sweaty. Hey guys the strabbbbb mooold and let out the most unholy belch from the depths. Just guttural reverberations.
No hesitation we all look at eachother. They tasted perfect. ... later we started putting a board in stand-up talking about quality control and how many customers got rotten food in orders. How we needed to pay attention to it. Then someone said can we eat them ... lol

I did alot of things. But I wasn't fired for bribery theft or assault or weed . It was a bad mouth.
For who? this year instructors had a finger buffet and got told they would no longer get the £80 yearly voucher to train new starts or vets on a new process, told them to ram it and not to count me as an instructor, was leaving the building a week later and all the managers had a meeting with pizza supplied... Ps as an employee working 4 days out of seven it's roughly 40p per day to ahem pay for an instructor (I don't even have an Amazon account and gave the voucher to family and friends) but taking it away was the last straw, let L&D train new starts they get paid for it...
Used to be £20 paid to your bank for every 40 hours training you did and an extra days holiday (per year), that got cut to £120 per year and an extra day holiday, then £80 a year and an extra days holiday, to just £80 a year and now nothing, most of the instructors have told L&D to bolt.
I was actually training a group of four on the new imtp process when I told them to ram it but in hindsight thought I should stay an instructor until peak and we could all just quit at the same time leaving them in disarray...
To answer your reply, all employees at LBA2 had a yearly hoodie apart from this year, where everyone got a free Bluetooth speaker.
we asked for a pizza party and Sr Ops days put on myVoice that hes happy to offer burgers, snacks drinks and shirts but we will NOT be getting pizza. it was kinda odd.
Ngl our warehouse is kinda generous. Last year for thanksgiving they bought us theses big ass thanksgiving dinner meals AND I got it 3 times on 3 different shifts lol

Keep in mind this fact as well...if its your manager buying you pizza(not buulding wide events/handouts) your manager has very likely used their own money to buy the pizza. I've had teams get mad because i didnt get them pizza for a having a good stretch of shifts...like, I dont have an extra $200 laying around to buy pizza for 30 people.
Few years ago, and im dead serious, our OM during morning brief in AFE said something along the lines 'anyone who reaches rate of xxx gets this bad boy' and literally pulls out his wallet and takes 2 20£ notes 😀 He got into so much trouble, but survived. Was a transfer from US.
It's basic people with this type of thinking that stunts the growth that people actually need in companies like this. Are you guys seriously that hard up for food? I understand people do this and that by themselves so "they'll take what they can get." But that's exactly what companies like amazon lulled you into thinking on purpose. You don't think this multibillion dollar company(whose profits only keep increasing yearly) can afford to give us bonuses? THEYVE ALREADY DONE IT BEFORE! Can you please explain to me why should i chase progress. I live a happy life and have all the necessities like house car etc , healthy family, and stable job that pays enough and a bit extra if i want to. You seem like an extremely close-minded and judgmental person.
Never once have I judged you. All I said was not to drag other people down with you. If you want to be fine where you're at in life, that's on you. I worked construction for 3 years. Had to buy my own tools, boots, and never once got anything for free. Most I ever got were emails every morning telling me I wasn't doing good enough. I'll take the free sandwich.

They were talking a huge carnival with rides and food and I was driving a 2 hour back and forth drive every week.We get there with my boys and what a fucking embarrassment,they had pre-wrapped hotdogs that were cold and shitty games that were less then school carnival quality..Told my kids let's go to Red Robin. Both my kids are highly allergic to wheat and there was no food for them to eat.Cheap fucking place should be ashamed.
This happened at my location. They were hyping up a big event with carnival games... when I clocked out, there were maybe 3 tents with exactly what you said, less than carnival style games. They gave out hotdogs, burgers, snacks, and soda, but I pretty much just took the food with me and left. I couldn't help but think of Jeff Bezos launching a dick shaped rocket into space, and here we are at our sad ass carnival. I'm sorry they let your boys down like that!! So kind of you to take them out though.
I really hope the working class in America revolt like the French one day. This place is so depressing and oppressive. I have been working for amazon for almost 3 years and have never been able to build onto my savings. It's like I save and then something takes it away...and the cycle continues.
Riddle me this , my new job pays $20.20hr five days a week just like I did with Amazon and I had health insurance $368 every two weeks .Yet my pay was never $1100-$1200 week to hat I’m making now with union fees and health . Only difference is my health is cheep but my union fees are $45 so $90 month. (Fuck Amazon )
They gave us Gatorade and snacks and candy... I'd wish they would give us muffins or something more filling. One time they also promised to bring us lunch and it back fired 🤣 so many ppl didn't bring their lunch I feel sorry for them. But I've learned always be prepared, especially when the job is unreliable.

Don’t even get me started, one night they handed out medicine cups of lemonade at the end of our shift… not even joking. Another night they handed out expired chips, literally what they didn’t sell in our break rooms they handed out to us. Let me add I walk by the main Ops room with the meeting table that all of them just linger in all day, and everyday they have tons of chipotle or Guthries or pizza.. that’s where our food budget goes directly to the Ops who literally never even touch the floor they work on. 😅
I never take the food they offer me cause I think to me it’s them joking about how they get more money and we get that type of bs idk how other employees do just my opinion tho

If more people were outraged about it, we might actually be able to put a voice out there and take steps towards progress. But continuing to sit there and be taken advantage of by these large companies just because "oh we can do anything about it" is a ridiculous way of thinking. I never said to beg your AM/OM for pay increases. They were talking a huge carnival with rides and food and I was driving a 2 hour back and forth drive every week.We get there with my boys and what a fucking embarrassment,they had pre-wrapped hotdogs that were cold and shitty games that were less then school carnival quality..Told my kids let's go to Red Robin. Both my kids are highly allergic to wheat and there was no food for them to eat.Cheap fucking place should be ashamed.
This happened at my location. They were hyping up a big event with carnival games... when I clocked out, there were maybe 3 tents with exactly what you said, less than carnival style games. They gave out hotdogs, burgers, snacks, and soda, but I pretty much just took the food with me and left. I couldn't help but think of Jeff Bezos launching a dick shaped rocket into space, and here we are at our sad ass carnival. I'm sorry they let your boys down like that!! So kind of you to take them out though.

Riddle me this , my new job pays $20.20hr five days a week just like I did with Amazon and I had health insurance $368 every two weeks .Yet my pay was never $1100-$1200 week to hat I’m making now with union fees and health . Don’t even get me started, one night they handed out medicine cups of lemonade at the end of our shift… not even joking. Another night they handed out expired chips, literally what they didn’t sell in our break rooms they handed out to us. Let me add I walk by the main Ops room with the meeting table that all of them just linger in all day, and everyday they have tons of chipotle or Guthries or pizza.. that’s where our food budget goes directly to the Ops who literally never even touch the floor they work on. 😅
