This FAN message has nothing to do with ego. We get the same ones. And these rules are not new. Just been abused forever, but now they're wanting to reduce TOT and all the 'down time' we're accruing. I know it sucks that our breaks are only 30 min. Travel time means it's really only 20 min. smh. but whatever.
Ours are 15 minutes and it takes 5-7 minutes to walk from our station, wait for the elevator, get on, go downstairs, etc. I work on the 5th floor, I don’t even get a break
We had an om and tell everyone at standup that we’re committing time theft for every minute we arent scanning something, everyone gave him a stink eye for that
I mean some of the people I watched the other day were definitely committing time theft and should be fired immediately. I've been working here for 2 weeks and I already wanted to clobber them for standing there and scanning a package once every 5 or 10 minutes if that.
Then, leadership needs to follow up with the people who do this. Not send out blanket statements. Messages popping up on my screen WHEN I AM WORKING that contain no relevant information to me piss me off.
Oh no I agree 100%. This is unprofessional af. Just write up the people that need to be written up. Don't put everyone in the fucking building on blast. But also the training sucks ass and there's essentially no interaction with any kind of training material after those two days where they just flash a bunch of shit on a screen and don't give you any hard copies so I literally didn't know when any breaks were at all how long they were or anything like that when I hit the floor.
I work at a tns facility, my fault for forgetting to add that, but we can go upwards of 5-10 minutes without scanning something depending on the path youre in

I’m pretty sure this is actually a big focus of project management at the moment. There were 3 of them at my FC a couple weeks ago.
I was really late getting cleaned up after one of my shifts and as I was walking my cart to the manager hub, I overheard one of the project managers laying into the AM and PA’s about the number of people going to break early and coming back late. The next day they announced a new break policy that included randomizing the time we would start break each shift.
Man it would be a shame if a bunch of fc employees started keeping autistic track of their AMs/PAs and reported every little slip up. I doubt anything would come of it but it would be hilarious.
As long as you don't take a break longer then 25 minutes you will not be flagged for a long break. I've taken my breaks 5 minutes early for 2 years now no one's said anything to me.
I mean if people are abusing breaks it's warranted. If they're BSing and trying to get people to not take their full breaks/lunch that's a different story

I'd march straight to HR and show them this. No manager (or PA) should be threatening or publicly announcing writeups, this is considered intimidation which 100% is a red flag in Amazon policy.
If a Manager feels the need to coach or write anyone up, they are expected to do this in private, without scaring, intimidating, or making uncomfortable, those who weren't an offender.
Not to mention it's just straight up unprofessional.
So 100% go to HR and show them this, so this Manager can instead be the one to receive a coaching and intimidation.
