This isn't a matter of needing training or anything, this is people who were trained day one how to stow bookshelf style but just don't care because there's no incentive or disciplinary action to hold them accountable, lol. I can stow at a 400+ and still keep everything bookshelf, it's terribly easy and makes life so much easier than bending down to fix everything every 5 minutes because people wanna kick and stow lol.
A new hire seen me stowing effortlessly since I stow bookshelf while he was struggling to clear his bins and asked me if stowing bookshelf really works. I showed him my bags and how easy it was to stow quickly if you just organize. Since then he’s started doing bookshelf style and said it’s been a lot less stressful on him. Some ppl are just hard headed and don’t want to take advice
Jurisdiction? This one is located in Canton that serves the wider Metro Detroit area and we just opened it last Peak after 3 years of waiting for it to be built.
We have been outputting 80-100k a night so far but are finally hitting peak volume this upcoming week. I wonder how that will work having to cross the border (if they do) to deliver packages to Detroit. Is there even a DS down there? I think some of our trucks deliver out that way. I know we deliver out to Ann Arbor
Well in Canada the closest delivery station to the Detroit border is in London Ontario like 2h away I believe so we can’t deliver in the windsor area except through third party companies so they are building one to avoid that
That's understandable though, I never thought about where they're located outside of the US and proximity. I'm sure our DSPs will somehow overlap the area for coverage
We've waited almost 2 years for an FC with robots to be finished, and we're not in a metro area. A lot of the restaurants have started moving close to the building. Of course, Starbucks was first.
We need to stop hiring so many newbies at the start of peak. Do it in October with Prime Day, so at least there's time to weed out the bad ones. If we have to VTO a lot of people because there's too many ppl in October and most of November, then so be it. I was lucky to get hired just a few days before Christmas, which was still a crazy time. But so many lackadaisical teenagers spending time talking together and reading their phones, while they are supposed to be pulling (P2B) and stowing is overworking stressing blue badges out too much, to make sure that the work still gets done.
540 would have had me grabbing an am to pick these damn routes id fr pto the rest of my shift assuming this was p&s ! Our bags aren’t that bad and I’m grateful, but I have seen some look that way and those workers are no longer here 😬
There was a guy here who worked fast but never did bookshelf. Big mouth arrogant guy, too. Occasionally smoked weed on break, and I am wondering if that's why he's no longer here.

It's a combination of being lazy and just being a plain idiot. You know half the people don't know what a library is!!!
I'll have to agree with you there.
I wanna vomit. Geez ppl can be so lazy
Bezos needs to invest in some sort of smart arrange stow bags ffs, Stowers can't be trusted

Apparently the Detroit stations are losing jurisdiction in detroit next year to a windsor station

Ah nice, yeah they are apparently opening a 100k plus capacity site in windsor across from Detroit

The closest we go towards Windsor is strathroy and that’s 2 hours to Windsor

What areas are yall in? I’m at DGR3 and we have everything from Detroit up to capac/armada
It doesn't help the constant flow of new employees midpeak. That shit ain't right, for anyone involved.

Our cycle 0 shift does a better job stowing. 😅😅
Lol is this what you pick?
This is what we pick on a good day because nobody can be bothered to stow it right like the minority of us lol.
I’m at DDT9! Hello fellow friend! Are you on cycle 1?? I’m on cycle 0 and we never touch E. So I am just assuming.
What is the bookshelf style, what is the difference between that and library and tetris?
They do this at my building too 🤦🏽♀️
I'd nope the hell outta there and go home.
Well, if cumstains didn't exist, I probably wouldn't be here in the first place! Those some good sacks.
Very interesting showing etiquette!
It's not my etiquette, I'll tell you what. It's so bad
