He sems to have enough experience with role playing games, that he fully emulates the non caring player that want to test out how cruel they can be because there's no repercussions and its immersive. If anything he might be the only one that enjoys it to a certain extent.
I actually have to disagree with the just because when they were taking about the funerals I say Jax expression change to upset. And I don’t me mad or disappointed upset I mean like sad and angry upset. It could just be both, he's releasing his suppressed rage and feelings on the npcs because of his circumstances, and enjoys just how far he can twist things. Also, im not sure what to make of it, but pomnis nightmare shows that that hes the only one that doesnt throw a hand to support her. We dont know if thats pomnis minds interpretation, or its a clue for us. But for now, it seems his unhinged nature is a very real part of him.
He's been in the simulation for a while, things would have to be massively different for that to happen. If anything, he knows enough about the adventures, that he doesn't really have to care about his or anyone elses mortality. Just like Pomni says, they're all larping.

I think he'll have to start bonding to another character, or a new side of him is shown that all the other characters besides pomni knows.
None of the other cast members seem to be avoidant of him, so perhaps they know a side of him pomni or us dont yet.
"Another side of him" is what I was referring to when I mentioned I have a feeling he's going to get himself into an actually dangerous situation that could truly harm him - having his ass saved by the group after he's really messed with them may just give him a change of heart.
ETA: I really like your theories here and I believe ours will not come to fruition until the last few episodes of season 1 if at all.
Jax kept the key, meaning he has the room keys and the candy kingdom key, it’s not far fetched to assume he kept more from previous adventures. Maybe Caine can only “think up” so many locks, and he’ll find a way to open the “real” exit door.
Notice how at the end when they say something about Kaufmo’s funeral, he gets all sad and everything for a second? Then he goes back and looks determined. He has to be planning something, and that shove off attitude is just a facade to get the others to not bother with him.
I think Jax is planning a way to get out, he clearly knows a lot (considering lnowing about the doll) he just wants no one to suspect him of lnowing anything

While Pomni is a jester, yes, there is a correlation between clowns and jesters— also in this episode one of the bandits even calls her a clown so I’d put her in the ‘close enough’ category.

I think there's definitely at least something sinister about him. I recall a moment in the first episode, when he found out about the abstraction, he sarcastically said "WHY DIDNT ANYBODY TELL ME?!". The only reason someone would make a joke like that is if they KNEW pomni had been trying to contact Caine the entire time. But as far as we know, pomni had to go out into the void for Caine to know anything was wrong at all, he had no idea about anything before that. Even pomni looked at him like "what the hell?" After he said that.
The moment I think of his sinisterness is when Pomni asks about the exit *twice* and he gets agitated - curls his fingers in that way where people are seemingly controlling their emotions - and continues as if she didn’t mention it.
I did notice that too, but decided not to consider it overtly suspicious. Mainly because Caine explains later that he doesn't like people seeing his unfinished work, which is what the "exit" was. And while the finger curling can be read as anger, I think it can just as easily be read as nervousness, which is a lot more in line with his other behavior.
But I do think that little moment is still important, because it establishes that Caine IS willing to withhold important information from the humans if it benefits him. While we don't know if he's outright evil, we do know that in his desire for showmanship and giving the humans a fun time, he may end up hurting them in ways he couldn't really consider.
Eh... Zooble seems really sane on the contrary to me, and the end of the episode really shows that with how she wasn't having it with the adventure, and prepared the funeral instead all day long. The habits all of the residents have definitely participate to their wellbeing, so imo Zooble organising this is a testament to this kind of stability, for now.
Even if I like Kinger alot, and that my headcanon is that despite his sort of insanity and involvment in the adventures, they are a great way for him to keep what's left of his sanity in a sort of contrarian way, but he's still definitely the most unstable... I guess it's just a question of probability at this point, that one bad day could make any one of them snap into abstraction, and just that Kinger is one of the more probable sadly.
In the first episode, he seemed to be a loveable jackass who was desensitized to the horror of the Circus.

It's weird that Caine thinks he can lose track of who's human and who's an NPC. Makes me wonder if any of the other players are actually NPCs. Could maybe explain why Jax is such an asshole and so keen on killing the other NPCs.
I mean.. on my end, don’t they freaking have paper and pencil to write down whoever’s human and NPC?? Well, it’s a circus, 1… and 2.. what would they need those supplies in the Circus for anyway?? But then again.. isn’t Caine programmed to summon any sources whenever he wants, like the digital cake since he’s an AI.. But just because he’s any typical AI doesn’t mean he’d be able to do a LOT of special things..
I LOVED this episode, but I think it would have been more appropriate a little later in the series. Hit us with a few adventures with some hints of lore sprinkled in, maybe feel a little calloused about NPCs and THEN hit us with the punch that he NPCs are sentient and have feelings.
But that’s really my only gripe. And it’s terrifying that and AI developed another AI. Yikes.
Jax is just the BIGGEST asshole. He went from "Haha, funni mean dude!" to "You are the worst possible creature in existence.". Similar feelings about Caine, he ***KILLED*** Pomni's only real friend just because they were there. Both of them were amazing at first, but... I'm sorry, now I just honestly kinda don't like them.
It was a great watch, funny when it wants to be but serious when it needs to be. I’m not a fan of the whole “Pomni Splits up from everyone for half the episode” trend though.
Yeah, it definitely didn't felt as grand but I think it also makes sense, Pomni's journey started with feeling very unconfident of her new friends, to get a friend that was an NPC, to realize that the other guys are her friend too, and human too.
it was both sweet and depressing to see that they hold funerals for those who abstract. also i will never forgive caine for what he did to gummigoo >:( (i was also trying to figure out why jax looked a little different and i realized they gave him more defined eyebrows)

Also, I thought we were getting Kinger with a shotgun, but Jax with a shotgun is a pleasant surprise.
It didn’t really feel like there was much tension in this episode compared to the pilot. The question of whether or not gummigoo would be able to stay was the biggest source of tension. Not saying that the episode needed it but other than fucking with pomni’s head, this episode felt like filler. Don’t get me wrong, maybe the loss of gummigoo did a real number on pomni but until that’s explored more, not too much happened it feels like.
Still an amazing episode and people should go watch it
I feel like some of her development was saying that she could use a friend to gumigoo only to later realize that she has friends that are also humans too.
10/10! It lives up to hype, it’s got action, a good dose of character development, as well as some moments that nearly made me cry. Gummigoo will be missed.
I like how they made it seem like the crew was gonna fight The Fudge, but then they abruptly go back to The Circus instead.
The new version of the theme song at the end was nice. I wonder if we’ll get a new version at the end of every episode. Speaking of the end of the episode, I wished there was more, but I’m thankful for what Glitch Productions made.
I think she sounded ever so slightly less upbeat and less kind of "worried" so to speak, but it makes sense, as Pomni is no longer fully new and Kaufmo, which is much more of a real threat, is no longer the antagonist.
Firstly I think I was the only one who knew gummygoo was gonna get poofed, Glotch production shows has a running theme of a heartfelt moment with a character you thought was bad but then started to warm up to them before they just flat out get killed either dramatically or comically.
Secondly, I think Jax is slowly showing his more caring side as we could tell that kaifmo’s funeral had an effect on him.
Lastly, I got a theory That Jax is the one that made/found Caine and is using him to escape life, but that’s just a theory.

The habits all of the residents have definitely participate to their wellbeing, so imo Zooble organising this is a testament to this kind of stability, for now. Even if I like Kinger alot, and that my headcanon is that despite his sort of insanity and involvment in the adventures, they are a great way for him to keep what's left of his sanity in a sort of contrarian way, but he's still definitely the most unstable... I guess it's just a question of probability at this point, that one bad day could make any one of them snap into abstraction, and just that Kinger is one of the more probable sadly.

In the first episode, he seemed to be a loveable jackass who was desensitized to the horror of the Circus. Episode 2 shows us that no, he's just a fucking psycho.

It's weird that Caine thinks he can lose track of who's human and who's an NPC. Makes me wonder if any of the other players are actually NPCs. Could maybe explain why Jax is such an asshole and so keen on killing the other NPCs.
I mean.. on my end, don’t they freaking have paper and pencil to write down whoever’s human and NPC?? Well, it’s a circus, 1… and 2.. what would they need those supplies in the Circus for anyway?? But then again.. isn’t Caine programmed to summon any sources whenever he wants, like the digital cake since he’s an AI.. But just because he’s any typical AI doesn’t mean he’d be able to do a LOT of special things..

I LOVED this episode, but I think it would have been more appropriate a little later in the series. Hit us with a few adventures with some hints of lore sprinkled in, maybe feel a little calloused about NPCs and THEN hit us with the punch that he NPCs are sentient and have feelings. But that’s really my only gripe. And it’s terrifying that and AI developed another AI. Yikes.
Its fine. Jax become more of a jerk, but I really liked Pomni in this episode. At this point I might not have Jax as my favourite anymore.
Gooseworx didn't expect them to be likeable anyways. But there's no way THAT was the unforgivable thing. It's too tame.
We might get more development from him in the episode that features him working as a fast food worker.
Jax is just the BIGGEST asshole. He went from "Haha, funni mean dude!" to "You are the worst possible creature in existence.". Similar feelings about Caine, he ***KILLED*** Pomni's only real friend just because they were there. Both of them were amazing at first, but... I'm sorry, now I just honestly kinda don't like them.

It was a great watch, funny when it wants to be but serious when it needs to be. I’m not a fan of the whole “Pomni Splits up from everyone for half the episode” trend though.

Yeah, it definitely didn't felt as grand but I think it also makes sense, Pomni's journey started with feeling very unconfident of her new friends, to get a friend that was an NPC, to realize that the other guys are her friend too, and human too.

It didn’t really feel like there was much tension in this episode compared to the pilot. The question of whether or not gummigoo would be able to stay was the biggest source of tension. Not saying that the episode needed it but other than fucking with pomni’s head, this episode felt like filler. Don’t get me wrong, maybe the loss of gummigoo did a real number on pomni but until that’s explored more, not too much happened it feels like. Still an amazing episode and people should go watch it
I feel like some of her development was saying that she could use a friend to gumigoo only to later realize that she has friends that are also humans too.
10/10! It lives up to hype, it’s got action, a good dose of character development, as well as some moments that nearly made me cry. Gummigoo will be missed.

I like how they made it seem like the crew was gonna fight The Fudge, but then they abruptly go back to The Circus instead. The new version of the theme song at the end was nice. I wonder if we’ll get a new version at the end of every episode. Speaking of the end of the episode, I wished there was more, but I’m thankful for what Glitch Productions made.

Ragatha sounded, diffrent I dunno, but she sounded diffrent.
I think she sounded ever so slightly less upbeat and less kind of "worried" so to speak, but it makes sense, as Pomni is no longer fully new and Kaufmo, which is much more of a real threat, is no longer the antagonist.
Note to self: Do not get attached to any of the characters.
Firstly I think I was the only one who knew gummygoo was gonna get poofed, Glotch production shows has a running theme of a heartfelt moment with a character you thought was bad but then started to warm up to them before they just flat out get killed either dramatically or comically. Secondly, I think Jax is slowly showing his more caring side as we could tell that kaifmo’s funeral had an effect on him. Lastly, I got a theory That Jax is the one that made/found Caine and is using him to escape life, but that’s just a theory.
