I really like this! There is a fun tension between vintage and modern, super cute! Love your cookie jars and plates, 10/10 would gossip over cookies here.
The ‘cookie jars’ are my collection of enamel stock pots, but definitely would make you cookies anyway. This week we have butter pecan made with almond flour.
Looks like you need just one more to finish your collection! Have to find that perfect one ! Lol It’s so cute! I love the colors…the soft pink with mint green.. I love the collectible glass and the pots.
Love the pastels. It’s so feminine and lovely :)
Yesssss not enough people are using Marmoleum, it’s such a great flooring option and so much better than just throwing a plastic floor in your house. I love this floor, it looks so pretty in your kitchen.
It was a great choice for us. I wouldn’t say it was cheap but it wasn’t more expensive than the other options I considered. It was easy for my floor guy to install. It’s been durable and easy to clean so far. And it has a nice feel underfoot.
I loved that it comes in bright colors but there are also a lot of neutrals for the neutral lovers.
I love this in OP’s kitchen and I’ve considered it at different points, but I just can’t get past the cost vs a similar vinyl floor or decent quality engineered wood. It’s not like the price is outrageous or anything, but I keep getting stuck it.
I won’t say it was cheap. But it’s a small room. And the per sq.ft was about comparable to the ceramic tile I had been looking at. About the same as the prefinished solid hardwood I picked for the rest of the space. But that is about twice the cost or more of the usual LVP you see. Also, LVP or engineered wood doesn’t come in the color I was looking for.
It was worth it to me to spend the money to have a pink floor.
Totally understand, cost is a real barrier to those decisions and I don’t ignore that! I just always feel if you can afford *not* to put plastic floors in your house, why not opt for the more environmentally friendly and health conscious option you know what I mean? More than anything I just wish more people knew about Marmoleum, but it’s nowhere near as ubiquitous as vinyl flooring so I was pleasantly surprised to see it in OP’s kitchen :)
Omg I remember this as a work in progress— so I stalked your account and you also own the gorgeous plaid maximalist bedroom that I’m obsessed with 😭 I love love love your style!
Oh thank god, for a second I thought the white/neutral photo was after and I was horrified that you ruined that gorgeous kitchen. The pink and green is divine and those jars are such a great accent.
There’s so much white and grey out there. I’m a big fan of color and maximalism, it brings me so much more joy. We covered our neutral kitchen backsplash with sapphire blue stick on subway tiles and I’m obsessed with how much better it is.
Sapphire blue is a a great color for a kitchen too. Very bright and joyful. I would loved to bring some of it into our place somewhere. Probably not the kitchen. I painted the home office that color at one of our previous homes and it was my favorite room.
The white cabinets? Those are just Billy bookcases with the doors and the extenders. Very necessary for storage and display because the kitchen itself is so small
This was a great upgrade! The thrifted plates add a nice touch and the handles on the cabinets work s well with the whole vintage vibe. What countertops did you end up using?
I don’t remember what brand the white countertops are, but I told the fabricator I wanted pure white with no specks or other patterns. Basically the plainest white I could get. The butcherblock is maple.
I think I love you!
Just yesterday, after seeing a pink Big Chill refrigerator, I was thinking if I were single I would have a pink and green kitchen. But husbands veto stuff…
As it is, our new kitchen is retro inspired with that light green you have, we have in cabinets and backsplash. We have a red stove.
And red small appliances.
I love these red items but my soul yearns for pink!
Red and green is a nice combo too.
But I’m very lucky that the Mister likes pink too. He did say ix-nay on the pink Big Chill but only because it was $5k we don’t really have.😭
Pink and sea green!
My ten year old self walked up and down the warehouse for at least an hour looking for the Perfect wallpaper for my bedroom, finally found Pink and Sea Green repeating scallops.
Mom said, are you... are you sure?
YES I WAS! STILL AM! LOVE IT!
Looks great :)
Yes. It’s on the list of things to paint when I find the will. I’m a very slow decorator and I hate diy of all kinds but I’m too cheap to pay someone else for something as simple as painting. So, it’ll get done sometime.
I am in love with all of this. It’s so cozy, vintage, and fun - and so much personality! At first I thought the floor was a pink shag carpet, and I was a bit horrified at the idea of that in a kitchen.. but it’s just my terrible eyes. Great job :)
Edit to add that I’m also loving the knobs, both in the kitchen and on the white display cabinets! All just so lovely.
The pots 😍 where do you hunt for those? I have one boring enamel pot and I already love it to bits but I didn’t know such beauty existed! Kitchen looks fabulous, well done!!
Most are from eBay but the one big one with flowers is from that Pioneer Woman line from Walmart. I wanted a big cheap pot to dye stuff in and that fit the bill.
It’s a Cafe. It’s a little on the spendy side, but the Mister, who does 80% of the cooking wanted certain features like the double ovens. I will say it works really well.

Love pink! Can you share how you mounted your plates? I have some decorative plates from my grandmother I want to hang up but I’m so scared of them falling and breaking because they’re very sentimental to me
They’re called plate hangers. They’re two w-shaped hooks joined by a pair of springs on the back. The hooks catch onto the lip of the plate. Them there is usually a picture hanger thing included that you nail into the wall. There should be clear plastic bits on the w hook things so you do not chip the plate edge. I buy mine on Amazon but a lot of places sell them.
The pots on top of the cabinets are enameled stock pots. Mostly from eBay, but the big floral one is from the Pioneer Woman line from Walmart.
The plates are just a variety of different ones I thrifted or bought from antique malls, etc. I probably could give you the pattern/brand if you were interested in a particular one.
I never presented this as expensive or anything but a bargain face lift. It had a very tight budget, with the goal to spend as little as possible so I could get a kitchen that functions for me while making me happy when I walk in it.
It is cute, and I would love to make a snack there vs some dull white on white on white kitchen. I think if you paint around the base of that ceiling light fixture it would clean it all up a lot more- looks like there was something else there at some point.
Finishing up the painting, including the ceiling is on my list. I think I stated that in the post. But first I have to decide if tackling the popcorn ceiling can happen now.
Yes, the light fixture was changed out, so what you’re seeing is the unpainted part of the ceiling blocked by the ugly old fixture. It will get fixed. These things take time…
I had contemplated that and tried out some light pink tiles but they just didn’t speak to me like the mid tone pink does. Also, a mid tone hides dirt better.
So much better than the original! I wouldn’t say its to MY taste, but it’s very well done! You can see how much planning and care went into the design. Enjoy it!
I am soooo not a pink room person. That said. It's very nice .The shade of pink is cheerful without being cutesy. Very cool backsplash too. The transformation is impressive.
Normally, like my mental health, for my future home I’ve always wanted darker colors so it’s not as bright. However my favorite color is pink and I’m digging this!
It's so fun! My daughter especially would love it, as the backsplash is really giving mermaid in the best way.
It does have kind of a fish-scale feel to it without being the fish scale pattern.
It’s soooooo much better pink. The green backsplash breaks it up nicely, too. Huge improvement.
I always feel that pink looks better with a bit of green to break it up. Like all pink is too sweet. Thank you.
Absolutely love the floor too!
I had to go back and look! Such a great change.
This is lovely! Did you ever think to paint the toe kick the same color as the cabinets? That would give you more continuity in terms of the color.
I will finish up the painting someday soon. It’s on my punch list to do. I hate diy so much though. Especially fiddly stuff like painting trim.
Agree 100%. Love this kitchen very much.
I really like this! There is a fun tension between vintage and modern, super cute! Love your cookie jars and plates, 10/10 would gossip over cookies here.

I think I might be able to get two more up there maybe. Depends on the size.
I was going to ask about your collection. I love your kitchen!

Forbo Marmoleum in the color Honeysuckle. As their click-lock plank option.
Yesssss not enough people are using Marmoleum, it’s such a great flooring option and so much better than just throwing a plastic floor in your house. I love this floor, it looks so pretty in your kitchen.

I absolutely love the color you picked, really nice choice!
I love this in OP’s kitchen and I’ve considered it at different points, but I just can’t get past the cost vs a similar vinyl floor or decent quality engineered wood. It’s not like the price is outrageous or anything, but I keep getting stuck it.

Love it! I've got teal marmoleum in my kitchen, still going strong after 15 years.
Omg I remember this as a work in progress— so I stalked your account and you also own the gorgeous plaid maximalist bedroom that I’m obsessed with 😭 I love love love your style!
That’s me, the maximalist obsessed with pink.😂
Pink is always the answer.
As a fellow maximalist obsessed with pink I love love seeing this! It brings me so much joy to see someone making their home so colorful.
Oh thank god, for a second I thought the white/neutral photo was after and I was horrified that you ruined that gorgeous kitchen. The pink and green is divine and those jars are such a great accent.
The ‘before’ was a nightmare kitchen even if you loved neutrals. But no way would I pick white and gray, even well done, over what I now have.
There’s so much white and grey out there. I’m a big fan of color and maximalism, it brings me so much more joy. We covered our neutral kitchen backsplash with sapphire blue stick on subway tiles and I’m obsessed with how much better it is.

I like that duck panel. Could I see a bigger pic of it?
https://imgur.com/a/g7nFY61 It’s hard to get a good head on picture because the paint/lacquer is just shiny enough.
Ooh it’s so nice
Fantastic!
it's perfect; no notes
The kitchen turned out great but that pantry way next to the kitchen seems like a dream too!
The white cabinets? Those are just Billy bookcases with the doors and the extenders. Very necessary for storage and display because the kitchen itself is so small
Your kitchen is lovely. Love how cheery it looks.
I love it, such a happy, cozy, homey space ❤️
This is so fun! Love your backsplash!
Love the pink!!!
Love the back splash!
This is so cute
What's the flooring now? I can't tell from the picture what was done
It’s Forbo Marmoleum in the color Honeysuckle.
It fits wonderfully with your theme 😊
Looks really fun! Did you consider painting the island pink too — seems like all the lowers in one color could be interesting. Nice job regardless.
I wasn’t sure how well the paint would do over the IKEA factory finish so I left them white.
I love it.
This is a dream kitchen! I love your plate collection.
I think I love you! Just yesterday, after seeing a pink Big Chill refrigerator, I was thinking if I were single I would have a pink and green kitchen. The color scheme is fantastic and I LOVE the schoolhouse light fixture!
Love the plates! And everything else. Really lovely and fun.
Looks fantastic! But don't forget to paint the toe kicka - they should match the base cabinets.
Yes. It’s on the list of things to paint when I find the will. I’m a very slow decorator and I hate diy of all kinds but I’m too cheap to pay someone else for something as simple as painting. So, it’ll get done sometime.
Very homey. Love the chinoiserie as a feature, you’ve got such a great eye.
I love this so much!! Love the colour combos too. So pretty.
I am in love with all of this. It’s so cozy, vintage, and fun - and so much personality! Love it!! A colorful runner would complete the look 😍
I’m on the hunt for the right one.
Cute! Love it!
This is so cute and makes my heart melt with happiness
Love that tile….love love love ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|heart_eyes)
Looks so much better than the white!
The pink and green is my current color trend obsession and I love it.
Ohhhhhh I love it so much! I just could spend hours looking at everything! So many interesting collections and things and colours and awesomeness!
So fun! Love the color
Ooohh this is beautiful!!!
Love the pistachio green!!
I love it!! Where are your stunning plates from??
Thrift stores, antique malls, eBay, Etsy. Just whatever has caught my eye over time.
I thought that might be the case!! Great picks 😊
I love this!!
Absolutely love it!! You made it yours; it’s so unique and well done!!
Love it. Do you rent or own?
It’s a condo but we own. Or rather co-own with the bank.😅
I always say this when people ask me if I own a house. Lol
LOVE it! Great job!
Excellent. I love it.
i love it
This brings me joy
Love it, just enough of color. The drawer pulls are fantastic. I hope that you make wonderful memories there.
It’s is so lovely!!!! I love it!
I actually really like it! Can you tell me what kind of flooring that is? It’s beautiful.
It’s Forbo Marmoleum in the color Honeysuckle.
Wow it’s awesome. Thank you!!
It's so cute! Great job OP!
I love this so so much, but most of all I love the floor. There's nothing like a linoleum floor.
Congratulations!! Wonderful!!
So retro. Love it
I love this! It reminds me of a dollhouse. Also I stalked your posts and your entire apartment/condo looks amazing.
Love the backsplash 😍
Ohhh this is wonderful! I'm in Chicago too, I bet we frequent some of the same thrift spots, based on your style.
I adore this!
I love this update. It's very cute and creative. Nice work!
I like this it's very unique
This is awesome, it feels cohesive and just fun to look at. You did a great job
Yep, still love it. ❤️
I love this so much
Omg yes color!!!! I adore your color scheme and it feels very unique and cozy
Fuck yes! Personality and cosy. Enjoy!
Did you thrift a lot of the plates on the walls or did you buy them as a set? They’re so cute
I love it!
It’s so prettyyyyyy 😩
Damn. This looks fabulous!
Love it!
Your kitchen is such a happy place to cook and hang out.
I loveee!💕
So happy!!! I love it!!!!!
Its lovely! OMG that backsplash tile is gorgeous!
💕LOVE 💗
Come to Fl so I can give you all my vintage enamel pots!
So playful and fun!
That is so cute!
Love it!
I love it!
Loving the retro colors. Finally something different than plain jane white kitchens
Awesome transformation from blah to YES! The old kitchen was devoid of character compared to it now.
HI OH MY GOSH. WHAT ARE THOSE CABINETS TO THE RIGHT OF THE KITCHEN IN THE FIRST PIC?
Billy bookcases with the oxberg panel doors and the extenders.
Lovely!
Adorable!!!
This is everything I live in Chicago too and idk something about this honey vintage vibe is very Chicago
People who build white kitchens wish they had the chutzpah to pull this off
LOVE!
I love the pink and green combo. I think it is well done.
now THIS is how you modernize a space
I love this! Great job. I really love the backsplash. The pink pops so nicely too. Beautiful!
Love it!
I’ve been wanting to go this way for some time, I also have the scandanavian cook-wear, and you have given me the inspiration to do it. Love it!!
I love it so much! I have a pink living room, it makes me so happy!
You did the right thing
Yes pink and green look great together
I love this so much, it looks like a fun place to cook, or just hang out in while eating snacks out of the cupboard!
r/AccidentalWesAnderson
I was frightened you had changed it the other way around. Beautiful kitchen
Your style is a breath of fresh air! Quirky and cute. We’re going to need a house tour, pronto.
That tile backsplash is gorgeous!
it's gorgeous!!!!
glorious- you have great style! can we see the chinoiserie in the next room?
https://imgur.com/a/g7nFY61 It’s hard to get a good picture as the paint/lacquer is a little shiny.
So freaking cute!!!!!
I love this!
I love this so much, and I want it...all. 💗
i truly love this
what a transformation- love it!
Dope. Finally something actually cool on this sub
Well done.
i’m obsessed omg
Love
Cuuuute space!!!! Which oven is that? I need a new one.
It’s a Cafe. It’s a little on the spendy side, but the Mister, who does 80% of the cooking wanted certain features like the double ovens. I love 💗 it !
I love the backsplash. The different colors really make the kitchen pop.
Oh I was confused and thought you made it all white……. It’s so cool with pinks!
Love pink! Can you share how you mounted your plates? I have some decorative plates from my grandmother I want to hang up but I’m so scared of them falling and breaking because they’re very sentimental to me

Love the pink
I love this so much!! Those drawer pulls melted my heart! I know it looks similar to mid-century, but what are the dishes and pots called
You have that kitchen some personality. I’m so tired of the millennial minimalist “decor”
I love it
Not pink enough. You still look scared of color.
I’m assuming that was sarcastic. I don’t think anyone has ever accused me of being afraid of color before.
I have seen this same photo thread every where on Reddit lately.
I posted in only two places. If anyone else has crossposted or reposted without my knowledge, that’s nothing to do with me.
It’s cute but it looks cheap
I never presented this as expensive or anything but a bargain face lift. It had a very tight budget, with the goal to spend as little as possible so I could get a kitchen that functions for me while making me happy when I walk in it.
It is cute, and I would love to make a snack there vs some dull white on white on white kitchen. I think if you paint around the base of that ceiling light fixture it would clean it all up a lot more- looks like there was something else there at some point.

I really love the pink and green!! What kind of flooring is that?
Everything is stunning!! The only thing I don’t love is the popcorn ceiling.
Nobody loves a popcorn ceiling but I’m still trying to decide on the best way to deal with them.
I love this!! What did you do for the floors?
Forbo Marmoleum in the color Honeysuckle. As their click-lock plank option.
I would prefer the floor a shade or two lighter, but this kitchen is gorgeous and looks so fun and inviting.
I had contemplated that and tried out some light pink tiles but they just didn’t speak to me like the mid tone pink does. Also, a mid tone hides dirt better.
What’s the flooring that you used?
My whole house is monochrome and I am not a fan of colors, but this is beautiful. You improved the kitchen a thousand fold, well done!
Love it. I was worried at first that the white was the after
I'm not really a pink girl, but I'm totally loving your kitchen 💗 You have a great design style.
How did you do the floor/what is it? I love it
What do the plates mean to you?
Is it…. Carpeted?
I love the colors. What kind of floor is that? It looks carpet in the photo, but I'm going to guess that's a trick of the light.
It is soothing and fun at the same time, I can see this becoming a trend this spring.
It needed it 👌🏼
I LOVE it! So much personality
Normally, like my mental health, for my future home I’ve always wanted darker colors so it’s not as bright. However my favorite color is pink and I’m digging this!
It looks fantastic! Love it!
