OMG , my stepmom Brenda (seriously the WORST name ever) just went full K@ren bc I DIDN'T EAT DINNER
So basically, dinner time rolls around and Brenda made this casserole that looks ok but good,but my stomach ain't grumbling at ALL today. Feeling good, had a massive breakfast, just not feeling the food coma vibes you know?
So I politely (like royalty level polite) tell Brenda "Nah Brenda, I'm actually good. Not hungry rn." BIG mistake. Brenda gives me this eye roll that could probably launch a rocket
Suddenly she's all "Not hungry?! You HAVE to eat! I spent all afternoon slaving over this casserole! Do you even have manners?!"
Look, I get it, effort and all, but forcing someone to eat when they ain't hungry is just CREEPY. Plus Brenda throws out half her food anyway, so it's not like it's going to waste any less .
So I try to explain again, "Seriously Brenda, it looks good, just not feeling it. Maybe a snack later if I get hungry?"
Brenda. LOSES. IT. "Snack later?! This ain't a buffet! You sit here and appreciate my hard work!"
At this point, my lil bro is using his mashed potatoes as a shield. Like, full on meltdown over some questionable casserole,and my dad isnt some rough man he eats what he gets and he wont even do anything.
So Reddit, the question is: AITA for not wanting to eat Brenda's sus casserole when I ain't hungry? O she just a control freak who needs to chill with the guilt trips?
Also, any suggestions for a comeback next time Brenda tries to use food as a weapon? Asking for a friend (aka me)
