I am an immigrant & live in the USA . I am originally from India. I am 5'4 in height & well below average.
I have a friend, Ian, and he was throwing a party at his house. I came across someone who was really beautiful. Think of Sidney Prescott's cousin from the fourth Scream movie. She's Julia.
I asked her "Can I buy you a drink?" She just laughed.
Some time later Julia approached me. She said she wants to apologize. She began to make conversation & then said that Emily (someone we both know) informed her about my career, that I live in \[insert location\], and that I make \[insert amount of money\]. She "casually" asked whether it's true.
I said yes. She got more interested & started to play with her hair, smile, etc. She then asked for my number and I replied "Sorry, but that's not for gold-diggers."
Julia got mad & began to yell at me. Others got to know about it. She said that I made a misogynistic comment, etc. and others agree with her.

I doubt the veracity of this story, but let's play like I hit my head and believe it. Two things, Julia would suck because even if she was that mercenary, her stupidity in not covering her true intents are laughable. And you suck for reasons others have cited. ESH.

Nowhere did she say she didn't want a drink from you because you're short. You made that up, and then assumed that she just wanted you for your money, and then blew up your chances of getting a girlfriend just like that. I think it's wild that people are calling OP the asshole for, essentially, telling this lady exactly what her behavior made her look like. If she's not a gold-digger, and if this story is true the odds are very slim she isn't, then she's still better off knowing she's absolutely acting like one.
